Heavenly Father, as I read Your Word and consider the truths that it contains, I see that Your ways are so much greater than man can imagine. You gave Your Son to be born as Son of Man - just as the prophets of old foretold. Thank You that Your plans and purposes, which were made in eternity past, can never be changed and that one day Jesus is returning as King of kings, to sit on the throne of David, where He will reign in righteousness, and rule in justice. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You loved us so much, that You sent Your only begotten Son to be born of a virgin, to become our Saviour by means of His vicarious death and Resurrection. He died for me and rose again so that I could have His resurrected life in me. What a Saviour! Thank You for the Bible and for the truth that it contains. May I draw closer to You, day by day, and grow in grace and in a knowledge of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.
Thank You, Father, for the gift of Your Son and the unfolding of Your eternal plan of salvation. Your perfect plan started as a tiny seed in the woman, travelling through time until He was born as a little baby in Bethlehem, and given the wonderful name of Jesus by His earthy guardian. He truly is my salvation. Thank You for His life, His example and His redeeming work on Calvary’s cross. May the name of Jesus be lifted high today. In His name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Gospel of Matthew and the beautiful way that he links the truth of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ, with the many Old Testament prophecies that foretold of His life and ministry, His sacrificial death, and glorious Resurrection. Thank You for telling us the end from the beginning so that we might know the truth and be set free from slavery to sin, by faith in Him. Give me a greater understanding of Your Word and more insight into the plan of redemption which threads its way throughout the Old and New Testaments. Help me to grow in grace and in a knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.
Loving Heavenly Father, I pray that I may see you with fresh eyes as I read the precious story of Christ's birth. May I love you with a deeper love as my understanding of You grows. Thank You that You are living in me and that one day I will see You face to face and know as I am known. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Word of God and the truths that it contains. Thank You for this Gospel of Matthew and the wonderful way that he uses the prophetic Scriptures to demonstrate that Christ, Who is declared the eternal Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, is the Son of Man according to the flesh - through Whom all the families of the earth may be blessed by faith in His sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection. To Him be all praise and glory, honour and might, majesty, dominion and power, for ever and ever. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the lovely picture of these wise men, seeking Jesus and finding Him to be the heavenly Prophet, Priest, and King, about Whom the Scriptures wrote. Thank You that I have also been guided to worship at His feet. Thank You for the sacrifice of His perfect life in payment for my sins. I do not have wonderful gifts such as gold, frankincense, and myrrh, with which to honour Him. But it is with humility of heart and grateful thanks that I offer myself as a living sacrifice, fully devoted to my Saviour. I pray that I will have an opportunity to bear the good news of salvation to others, to the praise of my God and Saviour. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Gospel of Matthew and the amazing way it gives us an understanding into the life and times of Jesus during His first advent. Thank You for the ministry and message of John the Baptist, who was so faithful to his calling as forerunner and herald to the King of kings and Lord of lords. John's simple yet profound message to: "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand," was sadly rejected by the majority of Israel. But praise Your name that the day is coming when Christ will return to earth to set up His kingdom of heaven on earth and Israel will repent and finally recognise Jesus as their Messiah and King. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that I have been baptised into Your Body and will never face the wrath of God and the judgement of fire. I pray that my life would be a light to the unsaved - for the glory to God and that You would look down in mercy on those who have not yet trusted in Jesus for the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that the Lord Jesus fulfilled all righteousness on my behalf so that I have been set free from the bondage of sin, slavery to Satan, and the final enemy - death. Thank You that Jesus is my holy High Priest, Who is ever living to make intercession for me. Thank You that You identified with my sin so that I might be identified with Your righteousness. And thank You, Father, that all the waves and billows of God's wrath were poured out on Christ on my account so that all righteousness might be fulfilled on my behalf by the Lord Jesus, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.
Oh Father, I am staggered by Your grace and glory that Christ should do all this for me. I am not worthy to pick up the crumbs under Your table, and yet in Your goodness and grace, Christ lived and died so that I too might die to the old life and live my new life in Him forever. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father, thank You for Christ's victory over Satan on my behalf. Help me to walk in newness of life in the power of the Spirit. I know that without You, I can do nothing, but in Christ, I have the victory over Satan, sin, the world, and the flesh. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing example of Jesus when He set aside His rights and abilities in order to be obedient to Your Word and will. May I keep the eyes of my heart on Christ’s earthly example and resist the temptation to act independently of You. Help me to depend on You in every eventuality of life, knowing that this is Your will for me and brings honour to Your name. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Sermon on the Mount and the many things that can be learned from the truths contained within its message. Thank You that Jesus is the Messiah of Israel Who will one day be crowned as their King. Thank You that He came as my Saviour to pay the price for my sin and break the power of sin and death. Thank You for the indwelling Holy Spirit of God, and that by Your grace my heart has been made new. May I live a life that honours Your name, and may I walk in spirit and truth all the days of my life. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word of truth and the lessons that it teaches all Your children. Help me to walk by faith in Christ and not to depend on my own human merit. Keep me from pride. Give me a heart that is humble in spirit and lead me in the path of godly righteousness and truth. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I praise and thank You that You gave Your only begotten Son to be born into the human race. Thank You that Jesus was not only Israel's Messiah-King, but that He is also my Heavenly Saviour. I pray that many would turn from their wicked ways and sinful state, and mourn for the wretched condition of this fallen world. Unite the pleading prayers of Your penitent people so that the world may come to know that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father, I long for Christ more and more. I hunger and thirst for righteousness in this world and in my own life. I am so thankful that Jesus clothed me in His righteousness when I trusted in Him for salvation. Help me to nail my self-righteous efforts to the Cross and be guided, day by day, by the Holy Spirit into all truth, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You for Your manifold mercy toward me, in that while I was yet a sinner and at enmity with You, You did not give me what I deserved but showed me mercy and love. You redeemed my life and clothed me in the righteousness of Christ. May I imitate the merciful way that Christ lived, by bestowing Your mercy and compassion on all those with whom I come in contact. May I live as You would have me live. In Jesus' name and for His glory, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that my heart has been cleansed of sin, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, my God and Saviour. Thank You that He is the image of the invisible God, Who has been revealed to me, by faith. Keep me low at the Cross and broken before You, and open my eyes to see more and more of His beauty and grace, and I pray that may I live to His praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
I thank You, Heavenly Father, that I have peace with You through the death of Jesus, my Saviour. I pray I may be a peace-maker in the place that You have put me, by maintaining sweet fellowship with You and by sharing the gospel of grace with all I may meet. May I be used as Your instrument of godly reconciliation and peace-making in this distressed world. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Loving Lord, I come to You to place the once great nation of United States of America at Your feet, knowing that our great country and it's constitution was made for a moral and religious people and is wholly inadequate for any other form of government, and yet we have strayed so far from the principles and practices of our great founders, who drew up our constitution based on Your Word.
But Lord, although this was once the land of the brave and the home of the free, sadly there is so much that is wrong with our country that I fear for its future. Lord, as a people we have walked away from You and discredited Your holy name by the way that we have conducted ourselves over the past few years and there is no health in our land.
Look down in pity on our people and our land, and protect us from those that seem determined on destroying our nation. Send Your Spirit I pray, through the land of America, and touch the hearts of all those that are called by Your name to plead on behalf our people. Convict those that are damaging our infrastructure and as a nation may we turn away from our wicked ways and return You to Your rightful position, in integrity and truth.
I ask this in Jesus' name,
Amen.
God of light, and life, and peace, I bring before You a world that is ravaged by war and suffering, disaster and distress, through the actions and attitudes of selfish men. I pray that the light of Christ would illuminate a dark world that has chosen to turn its back on the One Who is the true Light of the world. Use me in the corner of the world where You have placed me, to bring the light, life, and love of Christ, to a hurting world. Keep me ever mindful that without You I can do nothing, but in the strength and power of Your Holy Spirit, I am enabled to act as Your hands, Your feet, and Your heart, to those in need. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Father, I pray that the light of Christ in my heart may shine brightly before men, in such a way that they may see the good works that I do in Your power and strength, and glorify You, my Lord and my God. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I confess that I am a guilty sinner and deserving of punishment for my sin. Thank You that in Your grace, You gave the Lord Jesus to live a sinless life and take the punishment for my sins. Through His life and death, I have been removed from the curse of the Law and set free from Your righteous condemnation. Thank You, Father, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, what a comfort to me that not only are You in charge of the big picture of life, but also, not one tiny detail escapes Your notice. Thank You that everything You have written in Your Word will come to pass, just as You have said. As I read Your plan of redemption woven through all the pages of Scripture and come to understand what Christ did for me when He came to earth to die on the Cross for my sins and rose again the third day, the more I am filled with awe and wonder at the goodness and greatness of Your plans and purposes for this fallen race of man. How I praise and thank You for Your goodness and grace toward us. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Dear Heavenly Father, I am not worthy to gather up the crumbs under Your table, and yet You have forgiven my sin and have clothed me in Christ's righteousness, simply because I trusted in Jesus as Saviour. I pray that He will live His life through me, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, help me to become more and more like the Lord Jesus Christ, in thought, word, and deed. Help me not to repay evil with evil or insult with insult. Help me not to resist an evildoer or retaliate when I am abused or slighted for His name's sake. I pray that in the power of the indwelling Spirit, to seek after that which is good, and be ready and willing to turn the other cheek. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Loving Lord and Heavenly Father, I long to be more like You and to finish the work that You have prepared for me. Please perfect Your life in me in all I say and do, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, keep me, I pray, from the temptation to do hypocritical works of the flesh in order to receive the applause of men. Examine my heart and search the hidden motives of my mind, and expose all that is offensive to You. Help me to live and work to Your praise and glory from this day forward. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege of prayer and how I praise and thank You that You are a God Who hears and answers the cries of Your children. Keep me low at the Cross and broken before You, and help me to walk in spirit and truth all the days of my life. Teach me to pray into Your perfect will, and not yearn for the approval of man. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift and privilege of prayer. Thank You that I have access to Your throne of grace, for help in time of need. You alone are worthy of my grateful thanks and praise for this unparalleled birth-right. Renew in me an increasing desire to know You more, and to love You better with each passing day. Purge from me any petty attitudes that may hinder my fellowship with You. Instil in me a deepening desire to linger in Your presence and to praise You unceasingly, in spirit and truth. And develop in my heart an attitude of worshipful prayer, so that my communion with You becomes the essential essence of my very life on earth. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I confess that I have not only hurt other people, and especially those that are close to me, but I have offended You and ignored some of the warnings that I believe were directly or indirectly sent from You. Help me I pray to break free of this ungodly addiction and get on the road to recovery.
Forgive me Lord, for I have sinned against You and ignored the clear teaching of Your Word to live soberly, righteously and in the fear of the Lord and to walk circumspectly before You, as a child of the light. But I come to You in humble submission to ask You to help me to get on the road to addiction recovery, for I know that You have promised to lift-up all who come to You out of the miry pit, even when we have foolishly dug it for ourselves.
Help me be set free from alcohol, putting on the breastplate of righteousness, and for the helmet of salvation in Christ, in Whose name I pray,
Amen.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your wonderful provision for all Your children. Thank You that in Your grace You have promised to provide all that we need, according to Your riches in glory. Help me to always put You first in my life and recognise Your goodness to me personally, as well as Your sovereignty over the entire universe. May I give You the honour due to Your name and also boldly approach You as my Heavenly Provider Who supplies all I need, day by day. To You be all honour and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this pattern of prayer that Jesus taught. Give me a gentle spirit and help me to be quick to forgive all those who have hurt or abused me knowing that for Christ's sake I have been forgiven of so much. I pray that I may maintain close fellowship with You and be swift to forgive those who sin against me. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I praise You for Who You are. May Your will be done in my life and Your purpose be fulfilled on earth, when Christ Jesus will reign as King of kings and bring peace to this war-torn world. Please provide for my daily needs, and forgive me for the times when I have not loved You as I should and depended on myself instead of trusting You. Help me to resist the temptations in life and to acknowledge my total dependence on You, especially in times of trials and testings. And keep me, I pray, from all the evil attacks of the enemy, for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, how easy it is to fall into the trap of storing up the wrong sort of treasure here on earth instead of seeking to develop a godly attitude toward wealth. Keep me from covetousness and help me to keep my priorities in order toward provision for today and heavenly treasures that are accumulated to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Thank You, Father, that by grace I have been eternally saved, and by grace I am being transformed into the image and likeness of the Lord Jesus. May my life be one that glorifies You in thought, word, and deed, knowing that in so doing, treasure is being laid up for me in heavenly places. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that I may know Christ and treasure Him for Who He is, and all He has done for me. May my heart be rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus my Lord. Help me to fight the good fight of faith and not be tempted by the transient treasures of this world. Help me to secure a good report and to lay up for myself much treasure in my heavenly home, to Your glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this simple illustration of the eye being the lamp of the body. Lord, I confess that there is nothing that can commend me to You, but I praise Your name that in Christ, I have been removed from the curse of the Law and have the light of Christ shining in my heart. Help me to keep my heart pure and virtuous so that others may see the light of Christ shining in and through me, to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, there is such a strong urge in my life to accumulate things, to the detriment of my fellowship with You. Keep me, I pray, from using money as my source and supply. May I choose to trust You in every eventuality of life and seek You first in all things, to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that I may become a true disciple of righteousness who walks in spirit and truth. May I live my life as You intended man to live, trusting Your Word and relying on You to provide for all of my needs. In You, I have all that I need for life and godliness. Keep me from anxious thoughts or from allowing the worries of life to overwhelm me. Thank You that Christ's victory on the Cross makes me victorious too, freeing me from both the penalty of sin and the power of sin over my life. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father, I confess that I find it quite easy to worry but I realise this is foolishness and a demonstration of my lack of faith in Your great and precious promises. Thank You for giving me the example of the little birds who simply rely on Your loving provision and protection. May I rest in Your love, knowing that You will provide for all my needs according to Your riches in glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Loving Father, too often I hand over my problems to You, and then take them back and start to worry again. Thank You for the many reminders in Your Word that You are my Provider, and that Your grace is sufficient for all I face today. Father, today I take each of my cares and every concern and give them all to You. Thank You that Your promises are "yes" and "amen" in Jesus, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.
How I praise and thank You that You are my Heavenly Father, Who has promised to provide all I need. Thank You for the lovely illustration of the simple grass of the field which is clothed so beautifully because of Your gracious provision. Lord, I confess that worry and fear can so quickly cause my faith to falter. Help me to trust in You with all my heart and not to rely on my own understanding or allow things to destroy my peace. I also pray that I may become a mature disciple of Christ who is ready and willing to die daily to my own desires and live each day for You. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Heavenly Father, I know that when I worry, I have moved away from trusting You and all that Your Word has promised. Help me to be centered on Christ, rather than centered on self. Thank You that You are sufficient to provide all I need, just when I need it. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Dear Heavenly Father, too often I have allowed worry and fretful fears to overtake my heart and mind, which causes my faith to falter when I should be looking to You and remembering Your never-failing faithfulness. Thank You for the simple truth in the Sermon on the Mount, that God knows all my needs and will never leave me comfortless. Help me to always remember that if You feed the birds of the air and clothe the flowers of the field so beautifully, You will most certainly take care of Your children, who have trusted Christ for salvation. Help me to keep the eyes of my heart on Jesus and not on the circumstances of life - in Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Loving Father, I know that too often a lack of faith in Your promises of provision, have caused me to seek after the things of this world by myself. I confess this is a lack of faith in You. From now on, may I seek Your kingdom and righteousness first, knowing that You are my great Provider. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Dear Lord Jesus, I am filled with fear and anxiety as I have been left completely alone. I have no one in the world to care for me, no one who is really interested in me, and I am so frightened to have to face the future all on my own.
I do believe in Jesus as my Saviour, and I want to draw closer to You. I know from all that I learned as a child that my hope is in You alone. Lord, I have found a scripture in the book of Psalms that says that You put the lonely in families, and I find that such a comfort.
Please Lord, will You do that for me? Lord, if this is Your will for me, would You put me into a family and bring some lovely people that will come alongside me and be a family to me – but in any event, I pray that You would equip me to live my life and face the future in such a way that is honouring to You.
Thank You, Lord, that You really do care for me. I pray that You may even use me to be a comfort to others who may also facing a future alone. In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen.
Heavenly Father, keep me, I pray, from hypocritical thoughts and unrighteous judgement of others. But please give me the wisdom and discernment I need to judge between that which is good and that which is evil. Keep me walking humbly before You, and help me to always consider the needs of others before my own. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father, thank You for breaking down the barrier between God and man and permitting me to come into Your holy presence in prayer, for mercy to find help in time of need. Help me to pray and keep on praying in spirit and in truth. Help me to pray purposefully and persistently, and in accordance with Your will... and may I learn to ask in faith, to seek You with all my heart, and to knock with patient endurance so that I may live according to Your will. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for laying out so clearly the principles and practices that should govern our lives as we die to self and live for God. Thank You for Your loving promise that You will answer everyone who asks, seeks, and knocks. Lord, at times I have tried to do things in my own strength, only to fail. Forgive me, Lord. Give me an understanding heart and the desire to live, work, and pray, in a manner that honours Your holy name. I praise and thank You that You are my sole Provider. May I pray according to Your will, seeking to grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus, and submitting to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Lord, how privileged I am that You are my Heavenly Father Who loves each one of Your children with an everlasting love and provides all we need, according to Your riches in glory. Thank You that You loved me enough to send Jesus to die for my sins, and that You delight to give good gifts to Your children. Lord, I know too often I have tried to provide for my own needs without asking You, or I have lost faith and stopped seeking You when an answer is delayed. I realise how this must sadden Your heart. Thank You that You have provided over and above all that I could ask or think, not only in this world but in the ages to come. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that all that I say and do, may only be that which is honouring to You. May my actions, attitudes, and the innermost motives behind my thoughts and words, be pleasing to You and a reflection of Christ in me. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that in Christ, I have been saved by grace and have an eternal inheritance kept for me in heaven. I pray that I may die daily to all that is of self and live every day of my life for Christ. Help me to choose to enter the narrow gate of disciplined, dedicated discipleship, which leads to an abundant life here on earth. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that in Your grace, You brought me to an understanding that the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life. Thank You that by faith in Christ, I have found the Way to life and discovered Him to be the truth of the glorious gospel of grace. I pray that You would have pity on those that remain dead in their sin. Have mercy on those who through pride and their own self-sufficiency, have not yet found the narrow way that leads to life. Use me I pray, in whatever way You choose, to speak the truth in love to those who are on the broad way to destruction, and bring many into Your kingdom this day, I pray. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the warnings of false prophets and teachers in your Word. I pray that you would guard the hearts and minds of all your children and protect them from false prophets and ungodly teachers who seek to devour the flock. Help us all to identify the fruit of those in positions of leadership in the Church who come to us in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. Lord, give us discernment to know the truth and reject those who do not honour Your will. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus is the Friend of sinners, the Healer of the sick, and the Saviour of the world. Thank You that I have been redeemed from the slave-market of sin and received health and healing, like the leper who worshipped at Christ's feet and was cleansed by the gracious touch of His hand. Thank You that You sent Jesus to preach the gospel to the poor, proclaim release to the captives, give recovery of sight to the blind, free the oppressed, and proclaim the favourable year of the Lord. Thank You for His healing touch on my life. In His name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the beautiful example of the centurion's faith, who thrilled the Lord Jesus with His demonstration of trust and hope in His Word. Help me to fine-tune my faith in You by standing firmly on Your unchanging and unchangeable promises, even when circumstances appear to contradict Your Word. I pray that my faith would grow and mature, and that nothing would cause me to doubt You. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are my Sovereign Lord and that You are in control of every circumstance of my life, no matter how dangerous, terrifying, or impossible my position seems to be. Help me to daily abide in Christ, to rest in His love, and depend upon Him in every situation I find myself, giving over all my concerns and worries in the knowledge that nothing can swamp my life when Christ is my Captain and Lord. AMEN.
Heavenly Father, how much there is to learn from the heart-warming story of the paralytic, whose friends brought him to Jesus and whose faith was rewarded with the healing of their friend's paralysed body. Thank You, also, for this amazing demonstration of Christ's power over sin, sickness, disease, and death. Thank You that in Him is health, wholeness, and forgiveness of sins. Thank You that my sins are forgiven, simply by grace through faith in the Person and Work of Christ Jesus, my Lord. I pray that I would demonstrate a similar trust in You that was shown by these men when they brought their friend to Jesus. Increase my courage when faith wears thin, and may I never doubt Your ability to bring life and liberty to all who trust in You. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the four Gospels and the beautiful truth that Jesus is the Messiah of Israel and their coming King. Thank You that even though Israel rejected Jesus and crucified their King, You have not finished with Your chosen people. Thank You that in Your grace, You chose me and others who would believe on Jesus' name and trust Him as Saviour, to witness to a lost world, and have entrusted us to be a light to lost sinners, and ministers of the New and better Covenant, in Christ's blood. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the many things we can learn from the commission Christ gave to His apostles, when He sent them to preach the good news of the kingdom to Israel and empowered them with strength from on high. Thank You that in Christ, we have all we need for life and godliness, through the power of the indwelling Spirit of Christ. I praise You that in this world of sin and deception, there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed and nothing that is hidden that will not be known and judged appropriately by You. Thank You for Your love towards all Your people of faith and help me to live and work for Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to us. I know that through His death, I was made right with You. I recognise that His coming was not to bring peace in the world, but to bring a sword that is able to divide the world between those who will accept His love and those who will reject it. Give me courage to stand for the truth of Your Word even in the face of opposition. Help me to trust in You even when it means going against the world. As I face these conflicts, fill me with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You tell us the end from the beginning. Your Word is clear for all who have eyes to see and a heart that believes on Christ for forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. Thank You for the prophetic writings of Old Testament prophets like Malachi, who point us to Christ and record history before it happens. Thank You, also, for the New Testament apostles and prophets who have opened up our understanding of past events in Israel’s history and shown how everything points to Jesus, the Lamb of God and Lion of the tribe of Judah. Give me an understanding heart and a desire to seek the truth of Your Word, for Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Dear Father, thank You that I can come close to You, knowing that the barrier of sin has been removed. Thank You that You give me true rest for my soul and perfect peace in my heart, and that in the midst of any storm, Your peace that passes human understanding remains. Look with mercy on those who have not yet come to you for salvation. Convict their hearts of their need to come to You and trust in Your redemptive blood for the forgiveness of sin. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of humility and grace that the Lord Jesus set throughout His life, as He lived in utter dependence upon You. May I learn from Him so that in humility of heart and gentleness of spirit, I may learn to live in complete dependence upon Him, Whom to know is life eternal. AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word which guides me through life and directs me in the way I should go. Thank You for sending the Lord Jesus to be the Good Shepherd of the sheep and my guiding Light in this darkened world. Help me harness my heart and life to Jesus each day, for his yoke is easy, His burden is light, and in Him there is rest for my soul. Thank You that I have not been left to bear my problems and the pain of life alone. Use me, I pray, to point others who are distressed and burdened with sin to Jesus. In His name I pray, AMEN.
Loving Father, praise Your name. I thank You that in Your grace You lifted me up out of the miry clay, when I was that broken reed and smoking flax, and set my feet on the Rock of my salvation. Thank You for Your tenderness, loving-kindness, and care. May I always come to You in times of trial and distress. Keep me under the shadow of Your wing. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, what a sobering teaching to see how legalism and pride stifled the hearts of the Scribes and Pharisees. How thought-provoking it is to realise that jealously and self-conceit can take us far away from Jesus and prevent us from giving Him the honour He deserves. Give me a teachable spirit and keep me from developing biased opinions that conflict with Your Word. Prevent pride and legalism from blinding my eyes to the goodness of God. Cleanse my heart, I pray, so that I speak and act wisely. Forgive me for any idle words I have uttered indiscreetly, and may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be righteous before Your throne. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Lord and Heavenly Father, I do thank You for the family of Christ into which You have placed me and the loving fellowship that we enjoy together. As we study Your Word and seek to encourage each other in our little gatherings, I pray that the Word of Christ would dwell in us richly.
Help each of us to be willing to learn and also recognise the need to be accountable to each other as well as to You, as we seek to grow in grace corporately. Bless those that You have seen fit to equip each of us, and I pray that those who have been graced with the gift of teacher may motivate us all to be willing learners of You.
Lord, I know that one day I will stand before Your Bema judgement seat and I long to hear You say, “well done good and faithful servant.” I pray that in the days that I have ahead, I would draw close to You, and to my brothers and sisters in Christ, as together, we await that glorious day when we stand in Your presence, face to face with You.
Thank You, in Jesus' name,
Amen.
Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You for the sign of Jonah, which not only prefigured the death, burial, and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, but has given all who believe on the Him a blessed hope - knowing that because He rose to life immortal, we too will rise to newness of life. I pray for lost souls who doubt Your Word and ask that in Your grace, You would convict many of their need of Christ and open their blinded eyes before it is too late, so they too may come to a knowledge of the truth. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that the clear message of salvation is that it is only by grace through faith in the Person and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You that there are no hoops that I have to jump through to gain Your acceptance, other than believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, Whom You have sent to be the propitiation for my sins. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, help me to have a listening ear and to hear all that You have to say to me. Give me a teachable spirit, and may I grow in grace and in a knowledge of You. Help me to trust Your Word implicitly, for Your Word is truth. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, what a gracious and wise God You are to permit man to choose life or death, heaven or hell, forgiveness or condemnation, as a matter of free-will. Thank You for the light of the gospel of grace and for opening my eyes to the truth. Have mercy on those who of their own volition, choose the path to death, destruction, and condemnation. Continue to open my eyes to the truth and help me to choose the good and eschew the evil.. and reveal to rebellious men the horrific consequences of rejecting the gospel of Christ. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that I am part of Your Body, and the truth of salvation in the finished work of Christ has been granted to me, by grace through faith. Open my ears to hear Your voice and to understand the truths that are hidden in Your Word. May I grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus and be used by You to forward Your kingdom as You see fit. Thy will be done. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that Christ died on the Cross to pay the price for my sin. Thank You that He rose again to break the power of sin in my life and to give me a new life in Christ. Thank You that I have been born from above and am Your child. Help me to listen to Your voice and to be obedient to Your Word. May I to look to Jesus, moment by moment, and give me wisdom to discern who and what is not from You, so that I may eschew the evil and cling to the good. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word of truth and the lessons that it teaches us. Thank You for Jesus and His beautiful example of a life which demonstrated how to live in this frail human body, to Your praise and glory. May I live as He did and be prepared to say in all things, "Thy will not mine be done." In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father, I want to praise and thank You for Your tender mercy toward all of Your children. As I am faced with the troubles of my life, help me to realise that no matter what happens, You are near to me at all times. You are working all things together in my life to help mature my faith. Help me, Lord, to trust You more. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are in control of every single circumstance of life, no matter how difficult, dangerous, or distressing such times may become. Keep my heart from doubting Your Word, and help me to trust You in all things. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Dear Lord, thank You that You are my Lord and my God. You stripped Yourself of Your heavenly glory to bring salvation to a lost and dying world. You humbled Yourself by becoming a man so that You could live a perfect life, die a sacrificial death, and rise again the third day so that sinners such as I may be saved by grace through faith in You and live a victorious life through the power of the Holy Spirit. May I live all the days of my life to Your praise and glory, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, search my heart, I pray, and root out any hypocrisy and legalism You find there. May the words of my mouth reflect a heart that honours you in thought, word, and motive. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful compassion that Jesus showed to this Samaritan woman who came to understand that the Jewish Messiah was the Lord Jesus, the perfect son of David, and eternal Son of the most high God. Thank You that He is my Saviour too. Thank You that by grace through faith in Him, I have received forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. It is wonderful to realise that the whole Law was fulfilled when Jesus died as Israel’s perfect Passover Lamb and my precious Sin-Sacrifice. As I trace the wonderful plan of redemption from Adam’s sin, through Israel’s history, to the birth of Jesus - His sinless life, His sacrificial death, His glorious Resurrection, and Ascension into heaven, I am filled with awe and wonder that You loved the world so much that You gave Your only begotten Son to die in my place. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the encouraging story of the Canaanite woman whose faith in You has helped to teach generations of Christians that it is not by becoming a Jew that we are saved, but by faith in Christ. Thank You that You sent Your only begotten Son to be born as the Jewish Messiah and Saviour of the world, and that by faith in Him we have the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. Continue to open my eyes to behold wonderful things in Your Word, and guide me into all truth. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Gracious Lord and Heavenly King, how can I ever thank You enough for setting aside the glory that You had with the Father from before the creation of the world. You chose to come to earth and become our sin-substitute so that whoever believes on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved and have eternal life. I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God, Who died for my sin and rose again so that I may live. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.
Loving Father, thank You that You have drawn me with Your cords of love to know the Lord Jesus as my personal Saviour and heavenly Friend. I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, equal with the Father, and not created, and yet He chose to leave His heavenly dwelling to be born as a man, live a sinless life, and give Himself to be sacrificed on the Cross. Because of Jesus, I have eternal, abundant life. May my praise and thanksgiving ever rise to You, my Lord and my God. AMEN.
Heavenly Father, what a blessing it is to confess Jesus Christ as God and Saviour. Thank You for making Yourself known to the children of men, and thank You for convicting me of sin, righteousness, and judgement, so that I too can declare with Simon Peter and with all the saints, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Continue to guide me into all truth, I pray, and may my life be a testimony to the truth that Christ alone has the words of eternal life. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.
Loving Father, thank You that I am Your child and that Christ is the Rock of my salvation. May I build my confession of faith upon Christ and Christ alone, Who is my precious Saviour and loving Friend. In His name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I want to deny myself, take up my cross daily, and identify with my Saviour. Help me not to live for myself but rather to live for You. Help me lose my life for Your sake, knowing that this world holds nothing of value but that to follow You will result in the greatest reward. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Loving Heavenly Father, may I live for You alone. Help me to die to self so that I may live to Christ. Help me to live the crucified life so that in losing my own self-life, I may gain 'Christ's-life' living in me. May my life be lived only for You, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Dear Lord, there is nothing in this world that I can accumulate to exchange for my own soul. The price is too high for me to pay. But Lord, You paid the price for my soul with Your shed blood upon the Cross. The free gift of the salvation of my soul cost You so dearly. Help me to understand how precious I am to You. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to You, a life that seeks Your will not mine. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I praise and thank You for the truth of Your Word, and that Christ set aside the glory of His majesty to be born into this world, to live a perfect life, and to die a sacrificial death, so that by faith in Him I might be saved. I stand in awe and wonder that Christ should strip Himself of His heavenly glory for love of me. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I stand in awe of Your amazing plan of redemption. Thank You, that I am saved by grace through faith in Jesus, the Jewish Messiah. Thank You that like Moses, Elijah, Peter, James and John on the Mount of Transfiguration, I have been granted a peep into the coming kingdom of Christ. Thank You, that You loved me so much that You sent Jesus to be my Saviour, and that through Him all the families of the earth are blessed. Thank You, that in Christ, I have already been granted a place in Your kingdom, and I pray that the hearts of many of Your people will be turned back to faith in God and hope in Jesus, their Messiah-King, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.
Thank You, Father, for the ministry of men like Elijah and John the Baptist, who were not ashamed of the gospel of God, for it has the power of God unto salvation to ALL who believe. Thank You for the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, Who came to Israel as their Messiah and King and was ready and willing to be despised, rejected, falsely accused, and cruelly crucified on the Cross, so that all who believe on His name, would not perish but have everlasting life. Thank You for Your amazing plan of redemption, and use me in whatever way You will, to forward Your perfect redemptive plan. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I come to You in faith, knowing that You must be the only object of my faith and that without You I can do nothing. I put my trust in You, Lord, knowing that You are faithful and will never disappoint me. Help me look to Jesus, moment by moment, and to anchor my faith in Him Who is the Living Word, knowing that without Him I can do nothing... and yet in Christ I can do all things. Thank You, Father, that it is not the amount of faith that is important in Your sight, but the One in Whom I place my faith. Thank You for Your goodness, grace, and unfailing love. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
Heavenly Father, may the words of Christ dwell in me richly, and help me to speak the truth in love in every situation that I may face. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be always acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father, how glorious to know that the Lord Jesus is my living Head. May He lead and guide all my intercessions and prayers, my conversation, and communion with others, both individually or corporately. As I gather together with other brothers and sisters to pray, and praise, and worship You, I thank You that Christ is the Head in our midst. May all I say and do be honouring to You. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Loving Father, how I long to be more child-like in my attitude, with the sort of faith that trusts You like a child, and whose heart is ever open towards You. Teach me, Lord, to live in purity of heart and gentleness of spirit, so that Jesus may be reflected through me, to those with whom I come in contact today. This I ask in His name and for His glory, AMEN.
Father, I thank You that what is impossible for me is possible for You. Please help me to trust You in all things, and not have confidence in my own abilities and resources. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word, and that You have told us the end from the beginning. O Lord, what love You had for that little band of disciples as You told them what would happen to You. And how little they understood at that time. Lord, open my eyes and my understanding to You. May I spend the rest of my life and on into eternity, thanking You and praising You for Your great love for me, when You were mocked, and flogged, and crucified. And praise Your name, O Lord, that the grave could not hold You and You rose to life on the third day, just as You said. Hallelujah! Praise my Saviour! AMEN.
Loving Lord, I praise and thank You for Jesus, my Mighty Saviour and Servant King. Lord, today I pour out my life as an offering to You. I pray that I would serve You wholeheartedly and my service would bless those around me and be a witness to bring many to the knowledge of salvation in Jesus. Thank You that Jesus gave His life as a ransom for me and for all who would believe in His name. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Bible, the wonderful truths it contains, and the many lessons that we can learn from its pages if we only have a teachable spirit and a desire to know You more. Open my eyes to the lessons You would teach me, and I pray that I would recognise my need of You and be humble enough to acknowledge my need and ask for Your mercy, grace, and help. Help me not to miss any opportunity to learn of You or to help others to come to a deeper knowledge of Jesus. Thank You that He was willing to go to the Cross on my account, and thank You that there is no one who is outside Your gracious offer of salvation. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, search my heart and see if there is any carnality or wicked way in me that is dishonouring to You. Open my heart to a greater understanding of Your Word so that I may grow in the grace and knowledge of You and learn how to live for You. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the many lessons that I can learn from the Scriptures. Keep me from the sort of religious superiority and spiritual myopia that was demonstrated by the religious leaders whose pride and practice actually prevented them from seeing Jesus. May I keep the eyes of my heart on Him every moment of the day. May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart become perfected praise to the honour of Your name. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and the lessons You are teaching me through it. Thank You that Your Word is true and that You have not finished with Your people, Israel. Thank You that because of Israel’s unbelief, I have become a citizen of heaven and joint heir with Christ. I pray for the day when Your people cry out in repentance for salvation. I will rejoice with them when the kingdom that was promised to Abraham, Isaac, Israel, and David, is fully and finally realised. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that in Your grace, I have been given an opportunity to come into Your kingdom and eat of the spiritual food from heaven and drink of the waters of life that only come by faith in Christ. I am not worthy to gather up the crumbs under Your table, and yet in Your grace You have lifted me out of the miry clay, set my feet on the Rock of my salvation, and clothed me in the robe of Christ's own righteousness. To Him be all praise and glory, forever and ever, AMEN.
Loving Father, thank You for loving me when I was dead in my sins and for bringing me into Your family, simply because I trusted the Lord Jesus as Saviour. Lord, I want to love you with every part of my being. May I live as You would choose and love You with all my heart, and soul, and mind, and strength. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts. I do not want to live my life as the hypocritical Pharisees did, appearing righteous and good on the outside, but on the inside, full of greed, self-indulgence, and wickedness. Lord, I confess any hidden sins to You today, knowing that You know them already. I pray that I would live every day in sincerity and truth, lifting up Your name for Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Thank You, Father, that in Your grace You chose to reveal Your plan to redeem the lost race of sinful men, through the sacrificial offering of Your dear Son, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank You for revealing to Your people things that are to happen in the future, and what will be the signs of Your return to earth at the end of the Great Tribulation, when You come in power and great glory to rule and reign in righteousness. Thank You that as a member of the Body of Christ, I will not go through the great and terrible Day of the Lord, but for those who have to face Your wrath, I pray that many would recognise the signs of the time in which we live today, and believe on Christ for the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. Thank You that I am not appointed to wrath, but am saved by grace through faith in Jesus. But look down in pity I pray, on this lost world and bring many into Your kingdom before it is too late. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable. Thank You that I have been saved by grace through faith in Christ and that the day is coming when Israel as a nation will once again proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom to a lost and dying world. I pray that a multitude without number will be saved during that time of Great Tribulation. May You receive all the glory and praise due to Your name for Your goodness and grace to the children of men. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus is the risen, ascended, and glorified Word of God Whose words will never fail, and that Jesus is the living Word of God Whose promises stand fast forever and ever. Thank You for the precious promise that although heaven and earth will pass away, Your Words shall not pass away. No matter what happens in this world and no matter what trials and tribulations I face, I pray that I hold fast to Your Word of truth. Thank You, in Jesus’ name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and for the lessons that You would have me to learn. I pray that I may faithfully fulfil all the work that You have called me to do with a cheerful disposition, as I watch for Your return and occupy until You come. To Your praise and glory, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Word of truth and the many lessons that it contains for our learning. Thank You for this amazing passage which takes us, step by step, through the prophesied events of the Great Tribulation, and the things that will take place when Israel returns to You, and cries out to You for salvation - when Christ returns to earth, in power and great glory, to set up His millennial rule on earth. Teach me all that I should learn, and enable me to live my life according to Your perfect plans and purposes during this Church dispensation. May I watch for Christ's any day return for His Church, and give me an opportunity to share the good news of the gospel of grace with a world that has been blinded by the evil one. Help me to do only those things that are righteous in Your eyes, and to watch for Your any day return so that I may hear You say, "well done," when I stand before You. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that I am not appointed for wrath but have been saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus. Thank You that You have told us the end from the beginning so that we do not need to fear, knowing that You are in control and that one day You will set up Your kingdom of righteousness and peace. I pray that many may come to faith in Jesus today, and it is in His name I pray, AMEN.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that Your Word is true and we have all we need for life and godliness contained within the sacred pages of Scripture. I pray that my heart and mind would be open to Your pure scrutiny and that all I say and do would honour You. Thank You that You know the end from the beginning, and I pray that any evil that is being secretly plotted today, to dishonour Your name and shipwreck the faith of Your people, will be exposed and that truth will prevail. Thank You for sending Jesus to be the sacrifice for my sin and that He took the punishment I deserve so that I could be declared righteous in Your eyes. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the blood of the covenant which is poured out for many, for the forgiveness of sins. Thank You for Your promise of a new and eternal covenant, a covenant of the Spirit rather than one based on the letter of the Law. Thank You that Jesus came to cut the new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, and that He gave His Church the Last Supper as a reminder of His sacrificial offering for the sin of the world. Thank You that Jesus came as the final Passover Lamb, Who takes away the sin of the world, and that He is returning as the resurrected Lord, Who sits on the throne. I praise Your holy name for Your plans and purposes which have been revealed to all who will believe. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Thank You, Lord, for Your Word of truth and the lessons it teaches me day by day. I understand that in my own strength I would soon fall into some narcotic slumber, because my heart is grieved by all that is coming on the world. Yet I praise and thank You that in Your strength and with Your sufficient grace, I know that I can face the future, for You are with me to uphold me with Your righteous right hand. Give me Your strength I pray, to faithfully keep watch with my Lord Jesus in His continuous ministry of intercession. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, as I consider the passion of Christ and the enormous pressures and pain He underwent on my account, I can only praise and thank You for Your immeasurable gift and His incalculable grace. I understand that my own, fallen, fleshly resolve is weak, and that a powerful enemy is seeking to shipwreck my faith. But thanks be to God that in Christ, I have all I need to stand firm, as I watch and pray. Help me to rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, and in everything, to give thanks and praise for Your goodness and grace. Help me, Father, to watch and pray in spirit and truth, and to abide in Christ day by day, to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, as I consider the abuse that the Lord Jesus had to suffer at the hands of His enemies, to pay the price for my sin, and the sin of the whole world, I am filled with awe and wonder, thanksgiving, and praise for all that He has done for me. Help me to follow in His gracious footsteps and know that the final judgement of sinful men is Your responsibility. Give me grace to stand firm in the truth of the gospel and open the eyes of many who remain deceived to the truth. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, my heart grieves within me when I think of Jesus being mocked, spat upon, and tortured before His death on the Cross. To imagine my precious Saviour in this state, willingly allowing them to treat Him this way, gives me a glimpse of His unfathomable love for me. Thank You, Father, that You gave Your only begotten Son to take the punishment that I deserve, dying on the Cross to pay the price for my sin, and thank You that He rose the third day so that by faith in Him I may be made the righteousness of God. May I never become so familiar with the horror of Christ’s suffering and death that I forget that it was the terrible consequences of my sin that caused Jesus to stretch out His arms of love for me on Calvary's Cross. Lord, I thank You, and I love You, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, what a dark side of human nature is shown by this description of people casting lots for Jesus' clothes. Thank You that even here, prophecy is being fulfilled as the words of Psalm 22 echo in my mind. Thank You for Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross so that all who believe on Him, including those at the Cross casting lots for His clothes, might be saved. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Father God, forgive me for my lack of understanding of all that it meant for Christ to suffer on the Cross for me. Thank You that He chose to remain nailed to the Cross and to pay the price for my sin so that I might live eternally. Praise His holy name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, when I consider the enormity of what Christ did for me at Calvary, I cannot begin to comprehend what it meant for Him to be separated from You as He took the full force of Your justified wrath upon Himself, on account of my sin, and bore the full weight of my transgressions and guilt upon His sinless shoulders. My heart is unfeignedly thankful and I pray that I show forth my thanks and love, not only with my lips but in my life, by presenting my body as a living sacrifice unto You and giving myself up to Your service. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father, as I reflect on the awesome scene that took place when the Lord Jesus suffered and died for me, I bless Your name for revealing to me the gospel of grace and for drawing me into Your family as Your child. May I never become so 'familiar' with this scene that I forget its true significance. I worship before Your throne and praise Your holy name, for You truly are my most wonderful Saviour and I love You. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the encouragement we receive from the courageous actions of Joseph of Arimathea and his friend Nicodemus, who were not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, but fulfilled Your plans and purposes by boldly asking to take Christ's lifeless body for burial in a prepared tomb. Thank You that there is no-one excluded from Your gift of salvation - from the thief on the cross to these two members of the immoral Sanhedrin who believed God's Word and fulfilled Scriptures by their actions. I pray that I may live the rest of my life to Your praise and glory and that I finish the work You have prepared for me to do. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Dear Father God, thank You for seeing past the evil of death and bringing about Christ’s Resurrection. Thank You that I no longer need to fear death and hell, as death itself has been swallowed up in Christ's victory. Thank You that I have been placed in Christ. Show me more of Him, I pray, and may I participate in the fellowship of His sufferings and the power of His Resurrection. May there be less of me and more of Him today, and may Christ shine through my life as I go out into the world and tell of the wonders of His grace. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, what an astonishing lesson to learn from the wonderful story of the Resurrection, where the tears of the women and the doubts of Christ’s disciples caused them to forget the truth of Your Word and the glorious gospel of Christ, His sacrifice for sin, and His victory over death. I pray that I would not allow the emotions of my heart, the imaginations of my mind, or the difficulties of life’s circumstances, to eclipse the truth of Your Word or overshadow the many precious promises that are mine by faith in Him. May I stand on the truth of Scripture, obey Your commands, trust Your promises, and never forget that Your Word is steadfast, sure, living, powerful, sharper than any double-edged sword, and cannot be broken. I pray that with every passing day I would stand fast on its truth and not be shaken. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I stand amazed at Your grace and goodness, and that You would give Your only begotten Son to live a perfect life and die a sacrificial death for me. Thank You that all power in heaven and earth is His and that I am secure in His hand. Keep me from unfounded worry and foolish fretting, knowing that He is in ultimate control of my life and that Your perfect plans and purposes for all humanity will finally be fulfilled through Him. To Him be all praise and glory forever and ever, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, it is my desire to know You more, to learn more of You, and to become a true disciple of Jesus Christ. Give me a teachable spirit, I pray, so that I may grow in grace. And I pray that You would enable me to go and disciple others in Your strength so that together we come to a knowledge of the truth in Christ Jesus, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.
Loving Father You have graciously given us the night time for slumber and sleep so that we may be rested and refreshed in body soul and spirit, but all to often the imagination of our hearts, the thoughts of our minds and the difficulties that we are facing in life conjure up unwholesome imagination and unpleasant mental pictures, which all too often interrupt our sleep and can even cause us to be tormented with restlessness, bad dreams and frightening nightmares.
And so we bring to You those that are struggling with this sort of interrupted sleep, knowing that this is not what You want for any of Your children.. for Your Word says:- “I will lay me down to sleep in peace, for You, Lord, make me to dwell in safety.” Father this is what You desire for all Your children and so we ask that You would guide those that are experiencing difficulties in their sleep pattern or who are being tormented by sleeplessness, dreams or nightmares, to fix their mind on You and reflect on the glory of Your holy name and perfect character.. as they prepare to go to sleep each night.
We pray that those who are struggling with interrupted sleep will learn to fix their thoughts on You and meditate on that which is good and true, honorable and right, pure and lovely, and admirable. We pray that they will learn to take every thought captive to Christ and reflect on Your love and grace.. and all that is excellent. and worthy of praise - so that instead of fearing nightmares and interrupted sleep, they may approach bedtime in quite stillness of heart and fall into a relaxed sleep each night, as they rest in Your love - and in the morning wake refreshed in body soul and spirit, in Jesus name we pray,
Amen
