Heavenly Father, thank You for Your word. Help me to learn all the lessons that I can, from the corrective instructions, that Paul gave to the various churches. Keep me from developing a ‘holier-than-thou’ attitude and help me to recognise my faults.. and take steps to correct my actions and attitudes, when I am straying away from Your instruction. Keep me low at the cross and broken before You, and use me to help my brothers and sisters, if they should go astray – and use them to correct my faults, should I stray from the path of righteousness – this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Help me also to be willing to receive, and act on a word of correction, from a fellow brother or sister in Christ, without automatically misunderstanding their motive – this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN

Prayer For Accountability in Our Christian Life

Loving Lord, we thank You for Your written Word which contains all that we need as unbelievers to be forgiven of sins as well as all that we need as Your saved children - to live godly lives in Christ Jesus.

Father I realise that in Your grace You have excluded no one from Your gift of Salvation but simply hold us accountable to believe in Your precious Son – but now I understand that You also hold me accountable to grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus – by faith in Christ and not by trusting in my own abilities - if I am to become a mature believer in Christ.

Lord I want to grow in my Christian life and to live my life as unto the Lord. Teach me Your ways and guide me with Your Holy Spirit. Give me a teachable Spirit and a desire to apply all the truths that I am learning – for I desire to do Your will in my life… in Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Heavenly Father, what an incredible privilege to be Your child and to have the Holy Spirit living within my human frame. Thank You, Lord, that You have chosen to take up residence in the heart of all believers and that we have been given the 'ministry of reconciliation'. Thank You, Father, that in Your grace I have become New Creation in Christ, and am a member of His mystic body - and thank You that the Church is His representative on earth. Fulfil now O Lord the work that you have for me to do, and may I live for Your glory and consecrate my life to Your service - this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

Father God, over the years I know that many times I have been enticed by the world, and each time I discover myself out of fellowship with You. I desire in word and deed, mind and motive to be separated unto You, in the power of the Holy Spirit and to Your praise and glory, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

Dear heavenly Father, I kneel in awe and wonder when I consider the grace that has been showered on me, that I should be called a child of the holy Creator-God and made joint-heir with Your beloved Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. I pray that as I gaze into the face of the lovely Lord Jesus I may become increasingly conformed into His image and separate myself from the impurities and lusts of the world and my fleshly self, in Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for this instructive and comforting epistle from Paul to the Corinthians. Thank You for the comfort and joy it brings to us all, and the lessons we can learn. I pray that I may develop a teachable spirit and be ready, and sufficiently humble to receive, and react correctly, to any reproof, correction, or training in righteousness I may receive. Keep me looking to Jesus, and I pray that I may grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ - in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

Prayer Of Repentance Following An Abortion

Heavenly Father, You know all that I have done in my life, and how I have skirted around the issue of my abortion, dismissed the significance of this sin in my life and tried to pretend that it was no big deal.

But Lord, I now confess to You this terrible sin and realise increasingly that it is detestable in Your sight to abort a new little life. I confess my wrongdoing and grieve to think of the unborn baby that I chose to terminate in my womb.

I confess my sin and repent of my casual attitude and ask for Your healing touch on my life. Help me to release this painful memory to You and to accept that Your promise of forgiveness to all who repent of their sins and turn to Christ.

Thank You that You paid the price for all my sins at Calvary and that You have promised to remove them as far as the east is from the west… Thank You in Jesus name,

Amen

Thank You for the message and ministry of Paul and I pray for wisdom and discernment, so that I may not be tossed about by any wind of doctrine but able to stand fast on the word of truth - this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
