Your Kind of Vessel

Lord, give me the purity, integrity and focus to be the kind of vessel You would desire.

“Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.”
(2 Kings 4:3)

Heavenly Father, thank You for the beautiful story of Naaman the Syrian general, who was also a leper. Thank You that by God's grace, he was used to bring many souls to a knowledge of the goodness and grace of God, when he believed the word of his little servant girl, obeyed the instruction of Elisha the prophet and trusted the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to heal him. How we praise You that it is not Your will that any should perish but that all should come to a knowledge of You - and Jesus Christ Whom You have sent to be our sacrifice for sin. Help me to be like that little servant girl and be ready and willing to tell others that Jesus died for their sin, that He rose again and is seated on the right hand of the Father and is coming again in glory to judge the living and the dead. Thank You that whosoever believes on Him will not perish but have everlasting life. AMEN.

“Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for the many lessons we can learn from the beautiful story of Naaman the leper; the gentle little maid who offered wise advice and the need to recognise our own inadequacy; our poverty; our pride and our inability save ourselves. Thank You for the simple gospel message, where through faith... we can be washed by the blood of the Lamb and cleansed of all our sin - through faith in Him. Help us to humble ourselves before Your mighty hand, like this great Syrian general, who responded to the word of the Lord; obeyed His voice  and was made whole. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?”

Healing For My Long Time Illness

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for being with me through all the ups and downs of my life and for the many blessings that You have given me for which I praise and thank You.

Lord – You know the illness that I have been struggling with for a long time now and that there is little that seems to be able to be done by the medical profession - but Lord I believe that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and that You know every part of my body - and You know exactly why I have been ill for so long. Lord, I come to You now asking that You would work a full recovery in my body – whatever is causing this persistent problem - and I pray that You would, in Your mercy give me back the health and strength I need…

Lord if there is anything that is lacking in my diet or anything that is causing this ongoing problem within my body – I pray that You would show me so that it may be finally dealt with – Restore again my health and strength I pray and guide me along the path that You have planned for me, in Jesus name I pray,

“Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.”

Prayer For The Recovery For A Sick Child

Almighty and most merciful God I bring before You this little child who is suffering such pain and discomfort - and I ask that in Your grace and mercy You would raise them back up into full health and strength and work a speedy recovery.

The Lord Jesus took little children in His arms of love and blessed them and I pray that in a very special way You would put Your arms of love and blessing around this little one and minister to each need and every pain.

Little ones do not understand why they are feeling so poorly and I just ask that You would have compassion for this little child and take away any fear and pain - and multiply Your grace so that they come to a quick and lasting recovery….

Thank You Lord in Jesus name we pray,

“In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.”
(2 Kings 20:1)

For My Grandma Who Is Not Well

Dear God, I just want to bring my precious Grandma to You as she is quite poorly and I just ask Lord that You would touch her with Your healing hands and restore her to full health and strength – but oh Lord I also know that she is getting older and her health has been deteriorating quite rapidly over the past few months.

Father I know that our times are in Your hands and for everything there is a season and I know Lord that life does not continue indefinitely, nevertheless I do pray that she may be restored to good health.

Be with her Lord in her sickness and may she feel Your presence with her. Provide for all her needs I pray and I ask Lord that the doctors may identify the right medicines to help speed her recovery. Keep her close to You loving arms and may she find her rest in You especially during this period of sickness. I ask this in Jesus name.

“And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.”
