Prayer Against The Temptation To Return To My Addiction

Dear Lord, how I thank You for Your grace towards me for you have lifted me up out of the pit that my life was in and set my feet on the rock of my Salvation, which is Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for freeing me from the shame and sin of my addiction, which has robbed me of so many of years of my life and caused me to lose not only my home but many of my friends and family as well.

Lord Jesus there are those that would seek to entice me back into the shadow from which I escaped and are trying to almost blackmail me into returning back to my life of crime and debauchery – but I have been set free and I do not want to return – keep me from temptation on those occasions when I feel alone and protect me from the pressures that I have been put under on certain occasions to return.

Lord I know that ALL my past sins have been forgiven and that I am clothed in the righteousness of Christ Jesus – keep me walking in the path of holiness and protect me from those that are still slaves to their addictions – I pray Lord that You will rescue those of my friends that are still enthralled in the world of addiction – I ask this in Jesus name.

Amen

Prayer For My Unsaved Grandma

Dear Lord, I just want to bring my dear Grandma to You. Lord she has always put off making a commitment to follow You and to trust in Jesus as saviour – but Lord she is advancing in years and probably does not have much longer in this world. Lord I want my beloved granny to be with us in heaven and up to now she has been very resistant to the gospel of Christ.

Lord I pray that You would convince her of sin and convict her of her need of a Saviour and I pray that she may turn to Christ before she leaves this world, knowing that if she refuses she will have to face eternal separation from You, Father,

Lord I love my grandmother and I know that You do too - and I also know that it is not Your will that anyone should perish but that all should come to repentance – please Lord.. visit her and I pray and Lord I do pray that she will accept the Lord Jesus as her personal Saviour, before it is too late. In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Heavenly Father thank You that Jesus came to earth as my kinsman-Redeemer and learnt how it was to live in this sin-sick fallen world.. Thank You that He was prepared to lay aside His heavenly glory and to be born into the race He created.. in order to live a perfect life as an example of how I should live - but also that He died a sacrificial death so that by faith in Him I might be forgiven of my sins and redeemed by His precious blood - To Him be all praise and glory for ever and ever, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You that the eternal Son of God set aside His glory to become part of humanity and to live in humble circumstances on my account. Thank You that He was willing to be perfected by the things that He suffered so that by grace through faith in Him He would become my Saviour. May I live in humble obedience to His will - Who is the Source of eternal life and the Author and Finisher of my faith - in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

I pray that as I submit to the work of the Holy Spirit in my life I may become increasingly like the Lord Jesus and that as I live and work to Your praise and glory.. Help me to grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus. Times of Healing and Spiritual Renewal

Loving Father, I know that You often halt us in our tracks and remove us from the business of life, through an illness or a time of ill-health - so that we are forced take our eyes off the hurly-burly of life, and lie on an enforced bed of sickness - in order to rediscover what are our true priorities are in life.

Father, I know that I have not spent quality time with You, as I have allowed the daily duties of life and less-important issues to crowd out my special time alone in Your presence.

Forgive me I pray. I want to use this time of ill-health as an opportunity to get closer to You. Lead me and guide me in this time of illness - and may it become a time of spiritual as well as a period of physical rest.

Heal me Father I pray, not only in my body but also in my relationship with You,

Thank you,

Amen

Prayer For Rain In A Drought

Dear Lord, we are facing a sever drought and we plead with You to open the heavens and send rain on this dry and thirsty land. Lord we know that You are the one that sends the rain and You are the one that can withhold the rain, but we pray that You would look down in pity on our waterless land and send the rain to water the land, reviving the land and the people.

Lord we do not deserve You grace and mercy, for we have not loved and served You as we should – but You are long-suffering and of great goodness and You would send rivers of water over the vegetation and fill up the water-hold and well – for the earth is parched and we do not know what to do.

Lord for Your Holy Names sake we ask that You would send the rains in this land soon, for we have no hope but You – for You have promised to give rain upon the earth and send water on the fields – You have promised that the seasons will not fail and that the harvest will continue to provide their bounty – but without the life-giving water, we are going to have to face very severe consequences. In Your mercy send us rain in the dry and dusty land, we pray in Jesus name.

Amen

“For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:”

Losing Hope Through Addiction

Gracious God, I bring all those who think that they are a hopeless case and that there is no way out of the terrible addiction which has entrapped them – Lord there are so many people who have become enslaved to various forms of addiction – yet we know that there is wonderful hope for everyone - no matter what level to which they have sunk for Christ died for all – His death paid the price for every addict and all they have to do is to believe that Christ died on the cross to take the punishment that they deserve and rose to give them life – if they will only believe..

Look down with Your grace and compassion on all who are so entrapped in their addictions and I pray that You will bring many out from this terrible existence, which is so harmful and so degrading.

Bless all Father and may Your Holy Spirit seek out and save many such souls - who turn to Christ as Saviour.

Amen

Prayer To Embrace Your Purpose In Christ

Thank You that Your purpose for humanity is all tied up in Him, and that He is to be honored above all rule and authority.. power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

I thank You Father that Your will for my life is to transform me into the image and likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ and I pray that my life may reflect His grace and beauty in all I say and do.

I pray that I may willingly submit to the work of the Holy Spirit in my life – even on those occasions when I do not understand.. and ask that all that is of me may decrease and all that is of Christ may increase – until He is all in all in my life.. to Your praise and glory. Guide Me Through All Of Life’s Obstacles

Help me Lord Jesus to keep my whole focus on You. Life is becoming so hard and difficult that at times it is not easy to keep the eyes of my heart looking to Jesus as I know I should – for without Him I can do nothing…At times Lord I feel that I am losing my way in life but I know that as I rest in You, I will hear the gentle promptings from Your Spirit saying, “this is the way – walk in it…”

Sometimes Lord, I confess that when things get tough I try in my own strength to sort out my own problems - and work out what I ought to do myself, without turning to You first… and inevitably I seem to make the wrong choice…I know that You have a plan for my life – and I also know that living in this world is not easy – but I also know that my sufficiency is in You and that Your strength is made perfect as I rest in You – help me to apply this truth in my life.

Guide me Lord through all the obstacles of life and help me with the many choices I have to make on a daily basis. May I truly learn to look to You as my Guide and Strength, in Jesus name I pray,

AMEN

Help me to patiently endure Your chastening and may I learn obedience and humility.. and willingly submit to the guidance of the Holy Spirit - in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

“But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for placing us in families and for the parents You gave me - and thank You that I am Your child and part of that great, heavenly family, and have been saved by grace through faith. I did not always want to learn the lessons that my parents tried to teach me and I have too often resisted Your own, perfect, chastening hand. Help me to be willing to learn the lessons that You would teach me, quickly and thoroughly, for I desire to be holy - as You are holy. I pray that I may learn to be obedient to Your voice and be submissive to Your leading and guidance - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.”

Prayer For My Grandma’s Bed Sores

Dear Lord Jesus, my dear grandmother has been confined to bed as she has lost the strength in her legs and is having to spend a lot of her time in bed or sitting in a chair… but Lord this has caused her to have some really bad bedsores on her back and Lord I know they are so painful, even though she does not complain about them.

Please Lord I ask that You would heal them.. Help us to find the right ointment so that they may be healed and give us wisdom as we try to look after her and keep her as comfortable as possible with these nasty bedsores..

I do thank You for my grandmother who is such a gentle lady and who has been such a wonderful encouragement to me as I have been growing up. Be close to her Lord, heal her Lord I pray and thank You for her life and witness.

Amen
“Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.”

Father, thank You that I have been redeemed, sanctified and set apart by You because I am Your blood-bought child. My dear desire is that my life is truly holy and set apart for You, in thought, word and deed. I have so often spotted my garments by pursuing things other than Your perfect peace, Your holy purity and Your godly will for my life. Help me to keep the eyes of my heart fixed on Jesus and I pray that the life that I now live in this body may reflect my heavenly position in Christ - in Whose name I pray. AMEN.

Prayer Of Repentance Following An Abortion

Heavenly Father, You know all that I have done in my life, and how I have skirted around the issue of my abortion, dismissed the significance of this sin in my life and tried to pretend that it was no big deal.

But Lord, I now confess to You this terrible sin and realise increasingly that it is detestable in Your sight to abort a new little life. I confess my wrongdoing and grieve to think of the unborn baby that I chose to terminate in my womb.

I confess my sin and repent of my casual attitude and ask for Your healing touch on my life. Help me to release this painful memory to You and to accept that Your promise of forgiveness to all who repent of their sins and turn to Christ.

Thank You that You paid the price for all my sins at Calvary and that You have promised to remove them as far as the east is from the west… Thank You in Jesus name,

Amen

“For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.”

Heavenly Father, how amazing and awesome You are. I realise that it is a terrible thing for a sinner to fall into the hands of the almighty and holy God. Thank You that the fires of Your consuming judgement were poured out on Christ, in my stead. Thank You that the New Covenant, which was promised to Israel, was cut at Calvary, and that by grace, through faith in the Lord Jesus, Church-age believers have also become its beneficiaries, and been given the ministry of reconciliation, during our sojourn on earth. I pray that I take to heart the truths that are laid out in Hebrews, and do not seek to incorporate elements of the Law into my worship, knowing that I have been saved by grace, through faith, and not by fleshly works of the Law. Use me I pray in the ministry of reconciliation, in the time I have left on earth, and this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN

Prayer For Spiritual Accountability

Loving Lord I realise the importance of spiritual accountability in my own Christian life and pray that You would raise up godly men and women of faith, to whom to You should be accountable. Help me not to balk at the thought of accountability but rather to embrace it and learn all I can from the wise council of those that You place in my life. Lord I pray that together we would grow in grace and obtain wisdom in time of need.

Lord I pray that You would provide me with someone – perhaps even a prayer partner, where together we could enjoy fellowship, but also build us a relationship that enables us to be transparent in our Christian walk and sufficiently mature and sensitive enough to give guidance to each other for our mutual encouragement and reciprocal counsel.

Lord I know that the enemy as a roaring lion seeks to devour all those that do not hold themselves accountable to You – leaving them vulnerable to his evil attacks and spiritual discouragement. Help me Lord to be the person You would have me to be and give me humility of heart and a spirit of grace as I seek to do only those things that are righteous and appropriate in Your sight, in Jesus name I pray,

Amen
“Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”
