Praying through Hebrews 11:8

Loving Father, thank You for the example of Abraham who lived his life by faith. I pray that as my faith is tested through the circumstances of life, that in the end I will come forth as gold. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.”

Praying through Hebrews 9:22

Heavenly Father, thank You for the new and better Covenant that was inaugurated at Calvary’s Cross, knowing that without the shedding of Jesus’ sinless and precious blood there would have been no forgiveness of my sins. How I praise and thank You that Jesus died for me and gave me Your Holy Spirit to live Your life in me. Help me to live a life that is holy unto the Lord. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”

Praying through Hebrews 9:24

Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus is with me always to comfort and help me. But thank You also that He is my heavenly advocate, and that having finished His work of salvation on my behalf, is now interceding in the heavenly sanctuary for me. All praise to His holy name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 9:26

Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus. Thank You that by His once and forever offering of Himself on the Cross, He paid the full and final price for sin so that whoever trusts in Him for salvation will not perish but have everlasting life. Bring many into the kingdom of Your dear Son. In His name I pray, AMEN.

“For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.”

Praying through Hebrews 9:27

Heavenly Father, what a sobering verse this is, knowing that all mankind will be judged. Thank You that my judgement will be at the Bema Seat with all other Church Age believers, where no judgement of sin is given, because Christ paid the price for sin on my account and was judged in my place. When I think of the Great White Throne Judgement of all unbelievers I shudder, because those who did not trust Christ and receive His free gift of salvation will be judged and thrown into the lake of fire. May I freely tell all I meet of Jesus' free gift so that many will trust Him and partake in the Bema Seat Judgement as believers. As for me, I pray that I may live a life that is honouring to You so that at the Bema Seat Judgement I may receive rewards and not suffer loss of rewards. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

Praying through Hebrews 9:28

Loving Father, thank You for Your glorious plan of justification, sanctification, and glorification, for all that trust in Jesus as Saviour. Thank You that we can look back into history to Your First Coming, and we can look, just as surely, into the future to behold Your Second Coming. I eagerly await your any day return to take the Church, which is Your Body, to be with Yourself at the Rapture. Come quickly, Lord Jesus. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”

Praying through Hebrews 10:22

I praise and thank You, Heavenly Father, for the wonderful assurance of faith I have in my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank You that I have been washed in the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb and covered in the righteousness of the lovely Lord Jesus Christ. Keep my ears open to Your voice, my eyes open to Your leading, and my heart ready to follow Your guiding light. This I ask in the precious name of Jesus, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 7:18

Dear Father God, thank You for the simple way that You open our understanding to the truth of Your Word. At times, I try to complicate things instead of looking to Scripture to open my understanding of Your perfect plan of salvation, and recognising the pictures You paint in Scripture, to point me to Christ. Thank You, that Jesus is not only our Heavenly King and High Priest, but is also the eternal Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the world, and the perfect Kinsman- Redeemer and Mediator between fallen humanity and our holy Father. To Him be all honour and glory and in His name I pray, AMEN.

“For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.”

Praying through Hebrews 1:1

Loving Father, I stand amazed at the wonder of Who You are and that You should condescend to love me and rescue me from the wages of my sin. Thank You for conveying this truth to me through Your single, integrated, supernaturally inspired message of Scripture. May I study to be approved and not stand ashamed before Your throne of grace. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 1:5

Heavenly Father, thank You that You gave Your only begotten Son to become the sacrifice for my sins. Thank You that by faith in Christ's finished work at Calvary my sins have been forgiven forever and my life has been redeemed from the pit. Thank You that Christ rose from the dead and has become the first-begotten from the dead, and thank You that in Him I have life, eternal life, and life more abundantly. Help me to live my life to Your honour and glory, and may I never forget what it cost You to have the new life in Christ empowering me. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 3:18

Heavenly Father, thank You that in Christ I have received my promised rest through faith in Christ and have all I need to live a victorious, God-honouring life. Keep me ever looking to Jesus, and prevent me from falling into the sin of disobedience and unbelief, like the Israelites in the wilderness who were redeemed from the slave-market in Egypt, yet wasted their lives through deliberate unbelief. Help me to live by faith and not by sight or feelings, and may I live and work to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?”

Praying through Hebrews 4:9

Heavenly Father, thank You for the 'rest' we already have by faith in Christ Jesus and for the full and final sabbath-rest that will one day be ours, when Christ finally defeats every evil principality and power. Thank You that the earthly kingdom which was lost through sin, will be handed back to You, and Your redemptive plan will be completed. Keep me looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith, the Beginning and the End of Your creative work. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.”

Loving Father, thank you that Christ Jesus is my rest. Sometimes I forget that resting in Him is simply appropriating Your Word and accepting your precious promises, by faith. I pray that, day by day, I may rest in Jesus by trusting my life into His hands and trusting the Word of truth in my life. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 4:12

Thank You, Father, for the living, powerful Word of God. I pray that whatever it takes, Your Holy Spirit would continue to convict, convert, comfort, and conform me into the image of the lovely Lord Jesus, so that I become the person You want me to be. May I never hinder the work of Your Holy Spirit within, as He continues to divide my born-again spirit from my sin-sick soul. Root out all that is not of Christ and use me I pray, as a conduit through Whom You can flow, unhindered, into the lives of those around me. Thank You that You loved us so much that You purposed to change all who believe, into the image and likeness of Christ Jesus, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Heavenly Father, Your plans and purposes for me are staggering. I can scarce take in that You, Yourself, should come as my Saviour and High Priest so that I can approach You on Your great and gracious throne of grace. Open my ears to hear Your voice and cleanse my heart to pray into Your will for my brothers and sisters in need and for a lost and dying world who needs a Kinsman-Redeemer. Thank You that He is the Mediator between God and man, and through Him I have access to Your throne of grace. Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing book of Hebrews which offers so much insight into the Person, the Work, the Mission, and the Ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ and Your perfect plan of redemption. Thank You for the many 'pictures' You paint through the history and times of Israel which teach us so much about the Lord Jesus Christ; the Prophet who was spoken of by Moses, Your anointed Priest after the order of Melchizedek, and Your appointed King of kings and Lord of lords. Give me a teachable spirit I pray, and open the Scriptures to me day by day so I may grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, there are no words to express my grateful thanks, as with astonished awe and wonder I consider Jesus, my Heavenly High Priest, Who in the days of His flesh offered up prayers and supplication with loud crying and tears, as He faced the Cross and was made sin on my account. Worthy is Jesus, the Lamb that was slain, to receive all honour and glory and worship and praise and majesty, dominion and power for ever and ever, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus came to earth as my Kinsman-Redeemer and learned how it was to live in this sin-sick fallen world. Thank You that He was prepared to lay aside His heavenly glory and be born into the race He created. How amazing that He should learn obedience by the things that He suffered. May I have a fresh understanding of the suffering that You allow in my life so that like Jesus, I too would learn obedience to You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 11:6

Heavenly Father, I realise how quickly and easily I can move from trusting You to doubting Your Word, when things do not go the way that I expect. I pray that like the men and women of faith in Hebrews, my trust in You will not falter. Help me to earnestly seek You day by day, for I know that only as Christ lives in and through me, by faith, can I be pleasing in Your sight. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

Praying through Hebrews 11:10

Heavenly Father, how wonderful to know that Your promises will all be fulfilled and that a day is coming when our faith will be turned into sight as future prophecies and promises will be fulfilled at Your appointed time and in Your specified way. Thank You for the example of men and women of faith like Abraham and Sarah, and for the knowledge that nothing that You have planned and purposed will be left unfinished. Thank You that my sins have been forgiven and will be remembered no more and together with Abraham and all the saints, I look forward to the city to come - whose Builder and Maker is God. AMEN.

“For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”

Praying through Hebrews 11:19

Heavenly Father, thank You for the many ways You teach us the truth of Your redemptive plan and for the example of Abraham, a man of faith who trusted You when severely tested and who You used as an example of living our life by faith. I pray that my faith in You may grow and mature and that no matter what circumstances happen in this life, I will trust You with all my heart. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 11:39

Heavenly Father, thank You for the great cloud of worthy men and women who gained Your approval through their faith. It is lovely to realise that they continued to trust in the truth of Your Word when faced with unspeakable difficulties and dangers. Their faith did not waver, even though they died before receiving what was promised. I pray that I too may have the sort of faith that does not waver when problems arise and that I will be faithful to the point of death. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:”

Praying through Hebrews 11:40

Heavenly Father, Your plan of salvation for Jewish saints and Gentile believers is most wonderful. Thank You that Christ's sacrifice of Himself on the Cross of Calvary has enabled men and women of faith, both Old and New Testament saints, to be justified by faith and receive the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. Whether trusting in the future Redeemer or looking back and trusting the risen Saviour, the Cross paid it all, past, present, and future. Thank You for all who have trusted Your Word, both pre and post-Cross believers. How wonderful it will be to share eternity with the Old Testament saints, praising and glorifying You together. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 12:1

Loving Father, thank You for the many people of faith in Scripture who bear witness that Your Word is trustworthy and true. In the trials and difficulties of my life, help me to keep trusting You like this great cloud of witnesses. Help me to discard every encumbrance that may hinder my Christian progress and witness and give me perseverance as I press toward the final goal. May I patiently endure all the obstacles in life in the power of the Holy Spirit and help me to be a living witness to Your Word of truth. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 12:2

Heavenly Father, praise Your Holy name that Jesus went to the Cross and endured its suffering and separation for my sake. Thank You that even in His agony He counted it as joy because His work would save my soul. Thank You that His work is finished, and salvation is free to all who trust, by faith alone, in Christ alone. May I forever and ever keep Jesus as the centre and circumference of my life and faith. In His precious name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 12:3

Heavenly Father, thank You for the Lord Jesus Christ, my glorious Saviour, and His wonderful example of the only life ever lived in total dependence and willing obedience upon You, despite the grievous opposition and bitter hostility He faced. As I look to Jesus, I pray that I will not grow weary or lose heart in the difficult circumstances that I am facing, but may I look to Him in utter dependence and willing obedience. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times when I have not recognised my suffering as chastening from You to develop in me the wonderful fruit of righteousness. Help me to consider it all joy when I fall into the trials of life, knowing that the testing of my faith produces perseverance so that I may grow in grace and come into spiritual fullness. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me as a dearly beloved son and for the training me in the way I should go. Praying through Hebrews 12:8

Heavenly Father, I have not always understood the need for child-training in my life and have often resisted You or hindered Your work in my life. But thank You that Your discipline is wise, and Your chastening is a proof of Your love for me as a blood-bought child, accepted in the Beloved. Help me to patiently endure Your chastening, and may I learn obedience and humility while willingly submitting to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 12:10

Heavenly Father, thank You for placing us in families and for the parents You gave me, and thank You that I am Your child and part of that great, heavenly family, that has been saved by grace through faith in Christ. I did not always want to learn the lessons that my parents tried to teach me, and I have too often resisted Your own, perfect, chastening hand. Help me to be willing to learn the lessons that You would teach me, quickly and thoroughly, for I desire to be holy as You are holy. I pray that I may learn to be obedient to Your voice and submissive to Your leading and guidance. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Thank You that Jesus is the perfect example of a Man Who learned obedience by the things He suffered. May I follow His example in spirit and in truth, and I pray that I would grow in grace and mature in the faith so that I am spiritually complete and honouring to You. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You that I have been redeemed, sanctified, and set apart by You, because I am Your blood-bought child. My dear desire is that my life is truly holy and set apart for You in thought, word, and deed. If possible, as far as it depends on me, I pray that I would live in peace with all men. Help me to keep the eyes of my heart fixed on Jesus, and I pray that the life that I now live in this body may reflect my heavenly position in Christ. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, search my heart, oh God, and help me to identify any seeds of bitterness that may be lurking within. There may be bitterness from recent events in my life or from things that happened long ago, but the bitterness still remains in my heart. Lord, by your grace please root out this bitterness and replace it with Your grace and forgiveness, mercy and kindness. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You that in Christ I am a member of His Body, His Bride, and part of the Church of the Firstborn who will never have to face the second death. Thank You that my citizenship is in heaven and that my name is enrolled in the Book of Life. Thank You that Christ was judged for my sin at Calvary and that by faith, I am clothed in His righteousness. I pray that when I stand before the judgement seat of Christ, I may hear Him say, "well done, good and faithful servant." To His praise and glory, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, what a great and Almighty God You are and yet I have sinned against You as an individual and as a member of Your beautiful creation. It is terrifying to understand what is going to happen to heaven and earth in the future. Thank You for Your promise that although You will cause heaven and earth to pass away, Your Word will never pass away. I look forward to the glorious day, yet future, when You will create a new heaven and a new earth. As for me, Father, I know that without the Lord Jesus as my Saviour, I could never stand before Your awesome majesty and yet by grace through faith in Jesus, I can address You as Abba. May I live to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 12:29

Heavenly Father, how amazing and awesome You are. I realise that it is a terrible thing for a sinner to fall into the hands of the Almighty and holy God. I thank You and praise You with all the breath in me that Your consuming fire of judgement was poured out on Christ in my stead. There is so little time left on this earth before Your judgement is poured out. In Your love and mercy, You do not want any to be unsaved and to be thrown into the lake of fire but all to come to a saving knowledge of Christ. Use me in whatever way You choose, to speak Your words at the right time and in the right tone to the people You put in my life so that many may be saved. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Help us, in word and deed, to increase and abound in brotherly love for one another, just as we also do for You. Praying through Hebrews 13:2

Heavenly Father, it is thrilling to think that I may have helped, provided for, or entertained an angel unawares in my life. How wonderful to read in the Bible of angels being sent to earth by You as messengers and protectors and that we read of them worshipping You and rejoicing over one sinner who repents. And while the study of angels is fascinating, may I never take my focus off You, Lord. May I lift up my voice together with the angels and all the host of heaven to praise and worship You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the institution of marriage and the loving intimacy that we gain from this special relationship, which was instituted by You, in the beginning. Keep me free from sin and pure in thought, word, body, and deed. I pray for all Christian marriages, that You would guard them against the temptations of the world, the flesh, and the devil - and purify Your Bride I pray, as together we watch expectantly for Your any day return as our Heavenly Bridegroom.
