Prayer for Hebrews 7

Choose Verse

Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing lessons we can learn from the mysterious figure of Melchizedek, and the choices that Abraham made when he met him, on his homeward journey, after he rescued his nephew from his enemies. Keep me from being dazzled by the transitory, tempting treats, passing perks and glittering prizes this world has to offer and thank You that Jesus is my great High Priest of heaven, Who is interceding on my account day and night, and pouring untold and eternal blessings on my head, for which I praise and glorify Your holy name - and it is in Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;”

Heavenly Father, it is a thing most wonderful to realise that Jesus was born into His own creation, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. I rejoice that I have come to a greater understanding of Your wonderful plan of redemption, whereby Jesus was born to be as King of Peace, King of Righteousness and our heavenly High Priest, after the order of Melchizedek. Thank You that by faith in Him we might be redeemed from the slave-market of sin. Thank You for Your people Israel, and the part they played in opening our understanding to Your perfect plan of redemption. Open my eyes more and more, and give me a greater understanding of Your word in the days ahead, in Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;”

Heavenly Father, thank You for the many lessons that You teach us in Your word. Help me to understand more of You with each passing day - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?”

Heavenly Father, thank You for showing us that Jesus is the great Prophet, like unto Moses, the great King of the Jews, Who will sit on David’s throne – the promised Messiah of Israel and humanities Saviour, Who takes away the sin of the world. Thank You that today Jesus is seated on the throne of His Father, acting as our great High Priest.. and is interceding for His Church, night and day. Thank You that my sins are forgiven, and I have been washed clean by His precious blood, and thank You that by the power of His indestructible life – whereby He was raised from the dead, I too have received eternal life. Praise Your holy name, AMEN,

“Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and the truths it contains. Thank You for the Scriptures that point us to Christ and help us to understand that we have all sinned and we all fall short of Your perfect standard. But how we praise You, Lord, that by Your grace You cut a New Covenant through the blood of Christ Jesus, Who has become our kinsman-Redeemer, and through Whom we can draw near to You.. by faith in His sacrificial work. Thank You that we have a new and better hope through faith in Christ and an eternal home in heaven - praise Your holy name. AMEN.

“For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.”

Thank You Father for Your Son, Who has saved and sanctified me to the uttermost and is daily interceding for me. Praise Your wonderful name, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

“Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
