Prayer Of Thanks For My Grandma

How I thank You heavenly Father for my dear, dear grandmother. She has always been such a special support and encouragement to me, especially as I was growing up and finding out about life and living… and Lord, she has given me so much of her gentle wisdom and good advice… never being judgemental, but always fair and kind.

Thank You for the wonderful example she has been throughout my life of a godly woman who loves Jesus first and foremost, and for the unique way that she lovingly gently nudges me to turn to You, in all the circumstances of my life. Thank You for placing her in my life. Thank You that I have had the opportunity of learning so much from her – for her knowledge of the Scriptures and her delight to turn to You in pray, day by day.

Lord now that she is getting older, I pray that You would keep Your loving arms around her and protect her from harm. Guard and guide her – protect her and provide all that she needs and draw here ever closer to Yourself – in Jesus name I pray,

Amen
“I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;”

Prayer To Return Into Fellowship With God

O God be gracious to me and bless me and make the light of Your face shine on me and draw me back into Your loving arms.. Lord I have wandered far from You, and have been chasing after the things that are of little importance… and in so doing I have left my First Love – I have wandered far from You Lord Jesus, I want to return into Your loving arms.

I have been remembering the beautiful fellowship we enjoyed together when I first was born again and am coming to You Lord now, to confess my neglect – to admit my fault in wandering far from You, in order to experience a few paltry pleasures of the world. But they have left a bitter taste in my mouth and I long to rest in Your love once again, to breathe in the refreshing air of Your grace and to return into the loving arms of Jesus.

So be gracious to me Lord, and may the light of Your face shine on me once more, in Jesus name I pray. In Your grace I come to You in humbleness of heart and pray that we may return into the sweet fellowship we once enjoyed – Thank You Lord that you are a God Whose greatest desire is to reconcile sinners back into Your loving arms,

Amen
“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Prayer For The Church To Be Sanctified

Father, we pray that as members of the body of Christ we may learn to be imitators of You and to walk in love, with one another.. just as the Lord Jesus Christ loved us and gave Himself as an offering and sweet-smelling sacrifice - holy and acceptable to God.

Thank You Father that in Christ we are children of the light. May we walk in the light of the Lord, Who is the Way, the Truth, the Light and the Life - and Lord we know that Your purpose for the Church is to transform each one into the likeness of the Lord Jesus – until He is all in all.

We pray that as member of His body we may walk in all goodness and righteousness and live a life that is honoring to You. Teach us we pray to do only those things that are pleasing in Your sight and we ask that every member of the body of Christ may be sanctified – set apart unto You and cleansed with the washing of the water by the word of God, and made holy in thought word and deed.

We pray that the Church may be purified by the Spirit of power, so that she may be without spot or wrinkle or any such thing – but holy and blameless before You in love – We ask this in Jesus name

Amen

“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:”

For Trust In A Special Relationship

Oh God I come to You saddened in soul and with a heart that is breaking. You brought a special person into my life, for which I thank You Lord, and we were so happy together for a time - but for many reasons, including my jealous nature, things have gone sour between us and we have moved apart.

Lord I confess to You that I acted in a way that was not appropriate and did not permit trust between us to develop and to grow as it should. Look down on us in pity I pray – and ask that You would open up an opportunity for us to be properly reconciled so that we may build up our relationship together.

Lord I know that so often when we make foolish mistakes we have to take the responsibility for the outcome, which is not always the way that we would hope - but I do pray that our relationship is not finished and that in Your grace You would restore again the joy of being together and the special love we had for each other.

Change Me Lord – remove this jealous streak that has caused me so many problems in my life I pray,– for I know that this is not from You Lord - and make me more like the Lord Jesus, not only in my actions but in my attitudes and emotions. May Your will be done in our lives and even if we do not get back together – Lord, I pray that we may be reconciled, so that we may separate graciously and not in the current animosity. I ask this in Jesus name,

Amen
“That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”

Prepare Our Hearts In This Time Of Advent

Heavenly Father thank You for the opportunity for us to once again examine our hearts during this lovely time of Advent, and the faith in Christ Jesus that we confess.

Keep our hearts aglow with love for Jesus and help to wonder more and more about amazing the grace that You have shown towards sinful man, in sending Your only begotten Son to come to earth, as a tiny human baby - so that He could bear the punishment for the sins of the whole world on His holy shoulders.

It never ceases to amaze us that Christ Jesus should set aside His heavenly glory and be conceived of the Holy Spirit by the virgin Mary, birthed into the human family as the promised Seed of the woman and be worshipped as a tiny baby in a humble stable at Bethlehem, by simple shepherds and singing angels alike.

It was Love incarnate that visited the earth so many years ago and that same love that saved us from our sins and came to dwell within the hearts of all that trust in Jesus as Saviour. Heavenly Father, accept our grateful sacrifice of praise – and may we come to know You more and love You better in the days that lie ahead, in Jesus name we pray,

Amen
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

Prayer Of Gratitude For All Of God’s Gifts

Oh Lord our God what a joy it is to open my eyes in the morning and to remember all of Your loving-kindness towards us all - and for the many gifts and graces that we enjoy day by day.

Thank You for shelter from the cold and for the rest and refreshment that is gained with a good nights sleep. Thank You for the joy of opening my eyes to a fresh day, where Your mercies are new every morning – what a wonderful and faithful God You are.

Thank You for my health and my home. Thank You for my family and my friends. Thank You for the many good gifts that You have been pleased to bestow on all Your children. Oh, thank You that You are my Father and that Christ Jesus is my Saviour –and thank You Lord, that I have the indwelling Holy Spirit to lead and to guide – to comfort and help - for I am never alone because You are ever by my side… Praise Your holy name for all the good gifts that You have graciously given me, in such rich abundance -in Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Prayer for Corporate Accountability

Loving Lord and heavenly Father I do thank You for the family of Christ into which You have placed me and the loving fellowship that we enjoy together. As we study Your word and seek to encourage each other in our little gatherings, Lord I pray that the Word of Christ would dwell in us richly.

Help each of us to be willing to learn and also recognise the need to be accountable to each other as well as to You, as we seek to grow in grace corporately. Bless those that You have seen fit to equip each of us and `i pray that those who have been graced with the gift of teacher may motivate us all to be willing learners of You.

Lord I know that one day I will stand before Your Bema judgement seat and I long to hear You say, “well done good and faithful servant,” – Father I pray that in the days that I have ahead You will draw me close to Yourself so that I will not be found wanting on that glorious day when we stand in Your presence – face to face with You Lord,

Thank You in Jesus name

Amen

Prayer Accountability in a Christian Home

Loving Lord, You have placed us all in families and have, by Your own authority, established Your own statutes and laws. Thank You for placing us all in families and for my own family, in particular.

Thank You for the clarity with which You have taught us in Your word how that family that is seeking to do Your will, behaves… and the rolls that each of us holds within our own special family unit.

Thank You Lord, that You are our Father and have authorised the man of the home to take the place of authority, as the head of the family - just as You yourself are the Head of the family of God. May the men who are in this responsible role behave in a manner that is pleasing to You, by treating their wives with love and respect and their children with loving discipline and wise counsel. May they each become men after Your own heart as they assume their God-given role in their own homes.

May wives be gentle and gracious and willing to act in the crucial role of helper that You, Yourself have graciously placed them – may wives reflect the great love that Christ had for the Father and the sweet gentleness of the Holy Spirit – just as Jesus demonstrated these qualities in His own life… by submitting graciously to the Father’s will and desiring to do only those things that are pleasing to Him Give wives wisdom in the way that they behave towards their men-folk and may they grow in grace more and more as they walk in the steps of the lovely Lord Jesus Christ – Who was so full grace and truth.

Thank You for the heritage and gift of children, who we understand are a gift from God – a gift that has been lent from the Lord and a gift that You have graciously placed in so many families. And we pray that You would give all parents the grace and wisdom to teach and discipline their children in loving-kindness– and may the children themselves respect their parents and recognise the privilege they have in being part of a godly family unit. Loving Lord thank You for my family – and into YOUR hands I commit my family, from this day forward, even for evermore.

Amen

Prayer for Personal Accountability

Lord Jesus it says in Your Word, examine Yourself to see it you are in the faith – Lord I realise that this is not talking to unbelievers but to all of us who are Your children, in Christ Jesus. Lord help me to examine myself, and all that I am, and all that I am learning from You and Your word, so that I truly may say with conviction :-I know in Whom I have believed and am walking in the path on which He has placed me.

Keep me also from critical thoughts of others, and prevent me Lord, from having a spirit of control – or by pretending to hold others accountable to You when the beam in my own eye is greater than the speck that is in my brothers’ eyes.

Keep me humble before Your throng of grace and may I walk the way of the cross day be day - with the Spirit as my teacher and the Word of God washing me clean. Thank You for all my Christian friends and brothers and keep us all walking close to You in the days that lie ahead, in Jesus name I pray,

Amen
“Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.”

I Had An Abortion

Lord Jesus, my heart is aching as I had an abortion a long time ago and I still feel guilty for I know now that what I did was wrong –it was a sin against You Lord - but Father at the time I was frightened. I was pregnant – but now I realise that my sin was against You in so many ways and that the responsibility is mine – Oh God, I have wondered if I could ever be forgiven. I have confessed my sin so many times, …my promiscuous ways and the abortion I had….

Thank You Lord that at last You have brought peace into my heart for I now realise that You died on the cross to pay the price of all my sin – even those I may yet commit in the future.. Thank You that all my sins are forgiven forever - because Jesus took the punishment that I deserved.

Thank You that my promiscuous ways and the abortion I had is already forgiven at the cross and that I am Your child – simply because I trust in Jesus – thank You Lord… thank You for forgiving all my sin and thank You that because I trust in Jesus, there is NO condemnation on me at all. Thank You for sending this healing balm into my heart and thank You that am forgiven – forever…

Lord I pray that if I hear the voice of accusation in my ears or in my heart that You would help me to lift up my voice in praise to You for You have promised that I am forgiven, by the blood of Jesus, and I am not under condemnation.

Lord I want to live a life that is pleasing to You.. Heal me fully I pray and thank You in Jesus name,

Amen

“And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

Prayer For Alcoholic Addiction Recovery

I confess that I have not only hurt other people, and especially those that are close to me – but I have offended You and ignored some of the warnings that I believe were directly or indirectly sent from You. Help me I pray to break free of this ungodly addiction and get on the road to recovery.

Forgive me Lord I pray me for I have sinned against You and ignored the clear teaching of Your Word to live soberly, righteously and in the fear of the Lord and to walk circumspectly before You, as a child of the light. But I come to You in humble submission to ask You to help me to get on the road to addiction recovery, for I know that You have promised to lift-up all who come to You out of the miry pit – even when we have foolishly dug it for ourselves.

Help me be set free from alcohol.. putting on the breastplate of righteousness, and grace, and for helmet – the hope of salvation in Christ , in Whose name I pray,

Amen

Purity Prayer - To Flee Fornication

Dear Lord God, I seek a true inner purity that only comes from You and I come to You, knowing that I stand unclean, impure and wretched before Your perfect throne of purity and truth. Lord I ask Your forgiveness for the way that I have not honoured You with my body – knowing that I have engaged in many impure acts and unchaste thoughts. I confess that I am unworthy to even kneel before Your perfect presence – and yet I now understand that Christ died to pay the price for all my sins and all my impurities. Thank You that by believing in Jesus, Who died to pay the price for all my sins, You have washed me clean from every dishonouring act. Thank You Father.

Help me Lord to flee fornication and all the accompanying evils that flow from illicit sexual relationships and unclean thoughts – knowing that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, Who dwells in me and lives within my heart. Help me to keep my outward actions and inner thoughts pure before Your eyes – whether I am in the public view or hid in a secret place, and away from the gaze of the world’s eye.

Purify the eyes of my heart and help me to keep the focus of my mind on the Lord Jesus - and develop in me I pray, thoughts, words, deeds and motives that are pure in Your sight and that will honour Your Holy name, in Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Reconciliation for an Estranged Wife

Dear Father God, I am so distressed because my wife of many years has walked out on me, intending to carve out a future without me. Oh Lord, she is my wife and I love her so dearly but we are now estranged from each other and my life is falling apart without her.

I need You Lord, to uphold me with Your gracious right hand and pray that in Your time and Your way You would reconcile our differences and enable us to move forward with greater love and understanding than we had before.

Forgive me Lord for the part that I played in causing this estrangement between us to develop – without recognising the signs that were happening. Lord I was not the husband I could have been – of should have been… and though there were faults on both sides, I pray that You will help us to reconcile the difficulties between us and bring us back together and reunite us in love again. Lord that I may learn to love as You loved us – knowing that love suffers long and in kind – and thinks for the other.. Help me Lord to be the husband I should be – and bring us back into each other arms I pray…

Thank You Lord for hearing my prayer,

Amen
“But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.”

Prayer To Embrace Your Purpose In Christ

Thank You Father that I am Your child and that I have a citizenship laid up for me in the heaven, from which we await our coming Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You that Your purpose for humanity is all tied up in Him, and that He is to be honored above all rule and authority.. power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

Thank You Father that You have put all things in subjection under His feet, and given Him as Head over all things to the Church, which is His body - the fullness of Him Who fills all in all.

Heavenly Father, as a part of that Body I pray that I may fulfill the work that You have purposed for me to do. I thank You Father that Your will for my life is to transform me into the image and likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ and I pray that my life may reflect His grace and beauty in all I say and do.

I pray that I may willingly submit to the work of the Holy Spirit in my life – even on those occasions when I do not understand.. and ask that all that is of me may decrease and all that is of Christ may increase – until He is all in all in my life.. to Your praise and glory. This I ask in the name of Jesus,

Amen

To Be Freed From My Burdensome Addiction

Dear Lord Jesus, my addiction is a terrible burden and a such a shame to me and yet I find myself constantly returning to behaviours that I hate and long to be able to shed. I am so ashamed Lord and yet I know that You were the One Who said that You came to set the captives free – and Lord I am a captive. I am a captive and slave of this terrible addiction and yet to long to be freed and to live a normal life.

Free me Lord I pray from this compulsion for it is stifling my life and has cost me many dear friends as well as my job – but I long to be free to live as I ought.

I have heard the gospel and I do believe that Jesus died to take the full punishment for all my sins, including my addiction and I believe that He rose the third day, which broke the power of death in the lives of all who believe – so I am coming to you to ask You Lord to give me the abundant life that You have promised. I know that eternal life is now my portion but I pray that I may be free of my addiction in this life so that I may serve You as You deserve, I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Amen

Guide Me Through All Of Life’s Obstacles

Help me Lord Jesus to keep my whole focus on You. Life is becoming so hard and difficult that at times it is not easy to keep the eyes of my heart looking to Jesus as I know I should – for without Him I can do nothing…At times Lord I feel that I am losing my way in life but I know that as I rest in You, I will hear the gentle promptings from Your Spirit saying, “this is the way – walk in it…”

Sometimes Lord, I confess that when things get tough I try in my own strength to sort out my own problems - and work out what I ought to do myself, without turning to You first… and inevitably I seem to make the wrong choice…I know that You have a plan for my life – and I also know that living in this world is not easy – but I also know that my sufficiency is in You and that Your strength is made perfect as I rest in You – help me to apply this truth in my life.

Guide me Lord through all the obstacles of life and help me with the many choices I have to make on a daily basis. May I truly learn to look to You as my Guide and Strength, in Jesus name I pray,

AMEN

For My Brother Caught Up In Alcohol

Dear God, is saddens me so much that my dear brother has become dependent on alcohol and he is so young to have been dragged into this destructive life-style. Lord it is having a very serious effect on his relationship with his whole family and he seems to have thrown away his life, which was so promising – and it saddens me deeply.

Lord He seems to have been dragged in so deeply into this addiction that I fear that he is unlikely to emerge from it – but my trust is in You and I pray that in Your love and grace You will reach down and convict him of his need of You and draw him back into a right relationship with You..

Father I know he needs to take responsibility for this serious addiction- but I know that at times it can be seen as an illness – Lord look down in pity I pray on my brother and help him become free – in Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Prayer Against The Temptation To Return To My Addiction

Dear Lord, how I thank You for Your grace towards me for you have lifted me up out of the pit that my life was in and set my feet on the rock of my Salvation, which is Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for freeing me from the shame and sin of my addiction, which has robbed me of so many of years of my life and caused me to lose not only my home but many of my friends and family as well.

Lord Jesus there are those that would seek to entice me back into the shadow from which I escaped and are trying to almost blackmail me into returning back to my life of crime and debauchery – but I have been set free and I do not want to return – keep me from temptation on those occasions when I feel alone and protect me from the pressures that I have been put under on certain occasions to return.

Lord I know that ALL my past sins have been forgiven and that I am clothed in the righteousness of Christ Jesus – keep me walking in the path of holiness and protect me from those that are still slaves to their addictions – I pray Lord that You will rescue those of my friends that are still enthralled in the world of addiction – I ask this in Jesus name.

Amen

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

For My Grandma Who Is Not Well

Dear God, I just want to bring my precious Grandma to You as she is quite poorly and I just ask Lord that You would touch her with Your healing hands and restore her to full health and strength – but oh Lord I also know that she is getting older and her health has been deteriorating quite rapidly over the past few months.

Father I know that our times are in Your hands and for everything there is a season and I know Lord that life does not continue indefinitely, nevertheless I do pray that she may be restored to good health.

Be with her Lord in her sickness and may she feel Your presence with her. Provide for all her needs I pray and I ask Lord that the doctors may identify the right medicines to help speed her recovery. Heavenly Father, so many people have fallen into the devastating, downward spiral of alcoholism, and yet in Your grace and mercy we see so many that are being freed from their addiction to alcohol and many more that are coming to faith the Lord Jesus Christ, as a result of a crisis point in their lives, which has so often taken them to the depths of despair.

Thank You Lord for all who have been rescued from alcoholism and for those that have supported them through it.We know that the enemy comes to steal and to kill and to destroy men and women, by enticing them into a life of alcoholism and other evil addictions, but we thank and praise You that Jesus came to destroy the works of the evil one and promised to give life abundantly, to all who trust in Christ as Saviour.

We thank You for all those who are currently being helped to leave their life of alcohol addition behind, and we pray that each one will come to a saving knowledge if Christ and know You as Saviour and  Lord – this we ask in Jesus name,

Amen

For Those Who Feel Guilt After An Abortion

Loving Lord, I recently had an abortion because I was pregnant and did not want to have another baby – but since going through the abortion Lord, I find that I am beset about by guilt and my heart feels as if it is torn in two.

Lord You have promised to be close to those whose hearts are breaking – I know that what I did was wrong, because You are the Lord of life, but Father You are also the great God of comfort and the Comforter that has promised to be with us always and to comfort us in our distresses.

Lord I have just read the prayer ‘I Had An Abortion,’ and I thank You that You died to pay the price for all my sins, including this abortion. Lord I know that any deep wound takes much time to heal, but I pray Lord that You would start to mend my broken heart today and to soothe my smarting soul.

Give me the comfort that only comes from You to face the future, knowing that in Your sight I am pure and forgiven– and thank You for Your great assurance that there is no sin that is so bad that You are unwilling to forgive.

Thank You in Jesus name,

Amen

Eternal Gratitude For the Free Grace of God

Loving heavenly Father, how my heart bows before You in humble and sincere gratitude for all the many blessings that You have bestowed upon me – for the life that You have given me and the way that You have sustained me and cared for me, for which I offer You my grateful thanks. `

Thank You for my family and friends, my community and church and all the wonderful ways that You have led and guided us through both the joyful times and the difficult seasons of life.

Thank You for the wonderful world into which we have been placed and the beauties that surround us - the sea and the sky and the hills and the valleys – for all the delights that You have placed in our lives in such abundance.

Thank You most of all for sending us the Lord Jesus to die on the cross so save us from our sins – covering us with His own perfect righteousness and raising us up to sit with Him in heavenly places, when we deserve nothing but punishment. Lord we are not worthy to untie Your shoe-laces and yet in Your great grace and mercy You have freely given us all things to richly enjoy. Words cannot express the gratitude that is in my heart. Help me Lord to be the person You would have me be.. in Jesus name I pray,

AMEN
“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”

Praise for the First and Second Advents of the Lord

Dear Father God, how we rejoice when we call to our minds the glorious truth that the eternal Light of the world came to earth as a baby to become the Redeemer of mankind – to give His life for a lost world and to pour peace and hope into the hearts of a people who were estranged from their Creator God.

Father may our lives reflect His love as we look back in time to the first Advent of our Lord and Saviour – but let us never forget that there is a future Advent – a second coming when the earth will be filled with the glory of God once again – as the waters cover the sea.

Lord we know that You are returning and not as a tiny baby lying in a humble manger and wrapped in swaddling clothes but as a conquering King Who is to come to rescue His people Israel.

But Lord we know that first You are to come in the clouds to take Your church back to Your heavenly home – when the dead in Christ will rise first and we will all be changed in a moment - to become like unto You Lord Jesus.

Lord I pray that Your Church will prepare herself for Your soon return. Lord I pray that Your Body will be ready for that glorious day when You come to take us home to be with Yourself. Lord I beseech You that Your bride – who is the Church will be pure and holy, without spot and wrinkle or any such thing.. and Lord.. start that work in ME I pray, in Jesus name

Amen
“But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.”

Prayer For Alcoholic Husbands

Oh Lord Jesus, how difficult life has become due to my husbands excessive drinking of alcohol – well it is now really become alcohol addition. Life has become so hard, almost unbearable.. and his temper is at times out of control- and Lord, I am beginning to fear for our safety.

Lord You know that this is splitting our family apart and at times I despair that this addiction to alcohol will ever be overcome. Lord it has not only affected his moods and his increasingly uncaring attitude toward me, but it is affecting his work and I am wondering if he may actually lose his job as a result of this.

Father it is painful to see someone You love in this pitiful state and I pray for Your guidance and strength to be able to deal with this in a way that honours You – but also for the wisdom to know what to do and how to help my husband.

Lord I know that it may be a dangerous prayer to pray.. but I ask that whatever it takes You would bring my husband to the point where of desperation, where You are the only Person to Whom he can turn.. as I know that only You can intervene in this addiction and return him to his normal mind.

Father at time I feel weak and unable to cope and yet I know that Your strength is made perfect in our weakness. Lord I know that Your grace is sufficient for me and ask that You would remain close to me – to lead and to guide, so that I would know what to do to help him overcome his alcohol addition and encourage him to turn to Jesus, in Whose name I pray,

Amen

Prayer For A Recovering Alcoholic

Heavenly Father, thank You for helping me along the way to recovery from my addiction to alcohol. Thank You Father, for lifting me up out of the miry clay, saving me from my pit of despair and setting my feet on solid ground. Thank You that You cared enough for me.. to be there throughout my recovery.. to uphold me with Your righteous right hand, as You poured out grace and mercy to help, in time of need.

I repent of my foolish decline into alcoholism and confess my reluctance to admit that I was getting swept into an increasingly ungodly lifestyle. Forgive my selfish foolishness and thank You from the bottom of my heart for setting me on the right path to freedom in Christ by putting a new song in my mouth – even praise to my God.

Oh the joy and peace of knowing and trusting the Lord Jesus Christ. You have performed wonders in my life and I praise the good work that You are doing in me. Thank You for the freedom I have found in You as You have gently led me along the path to recovery from alcoholism. You are my God and have performed great and mighty wonders in me, and I praise Your holy name for ever and ever,

Amen

Prayer For Alcoholic Abuse

Dear Lord Jesus, we come to You in deep pain and sadness for those we know who are suffering in one way of another.. due to alcohol abuse, both those that have been ensnared in their own excessive alcohol addiction and also those that are badly affected by the alcoholic abuse of someone else – a spouse, a parent. a child or a friend.

We know that You love and care for each and every addict and desire that they break free from their addiction and come to a saving faith Jesus Christ.. Who died and rose again so that the power of sin and bondage to all forms of addiction might become ineffective in the lives that is focused on the Lord Jesus.

We lift up all those that we know who are suffering in any way, due to alcoholic abuse and addiction, especially those that we know personally.. and pray that in Your grace and mercy You would do a great work in their lives - enabling those in bondage to break free of their debilitating addiction and those affected by the alcoholism of others to be kept our of harms way – and may all come to a saving faith in Jesus and begin to enjoy a close walk with Him, in Jesus name we pray,

Amen

“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

For Families With An Alcoholic Father

Loving heavenly Father, You put us into families and set a father as the leader and role model for each family… but Lord there are many families that are being torn apart by a husband and father that has become addicted to alcohol.

Knowing the devastating nature of this disease, I pray that You would prompt each one to turn away from this evil habit to become the responsible husband and father that You desire each one to be.

Lord we know that there are many alcoholic husbands that abuse their wives both physically and emotionally and that many children are also placed in danger, due to abuse from an alcoholic father – and also Lord, that such drinking habits can often leave families with insufficient money to live on.

Protect all those that are vulnerable from all forms of abuse and convict such men of the responsibilities of being loving husbands and dependable fathers – and Lord we pray that they turn from their evil ways to turn to the Lord Jesus – knowing that only in You is true freedom found.

Thank You Father – I commit all families that are in this position into Your safe-keeping,

Amen
