Thank You Lord, that You purposed from the foundation of the world to save mankind. Thank You that by grace through faith in Christ I have been transferred from the old creation in Adam to the new creation in Christ. Thank You that my spirit has been regenerated, and I have been given a new nature in Christ - His resurrected life in me. I pray that I may keep the old sin nature nailed to the cross and I praise and thank You that one day this mortal body will be clothed with immortality - because I now bear the image of the heavenly Lord Jesus, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your wonderful plan of redemption and for Jesus Christ, the eternal Son, Who laid aside His heavenly glory, to come to earth and be born into the human race. Thank You that He was willing to take on the form of human flesh, so that He could live a perfect life, in order to be qualified to shed His innocent blood for the sin of the world. Thank You that He willingly died for me and gave His very life-blood on my behalf, so that by faith in Him I might be identified with His death and glorious resurrection. Thank You that by that faith in Him, I have been imputed with His righteousness, become a child of God and joint-heir with Christ. Thank You that Your amazing plan of redemption, has paved the way for me to have an inheritance in the kingdom of God, and that this imperishable body, will one day take on an imperishable one - Thank You in Jesus name, AMEN

Heavenly Father, what a glorious hope we have in Christ Jesus our Saviour. Thank You that He came to rescue sinners like me from death, hell, eternal condemnation and separation from You. Thank You that Christ died to pay the price for my sin and thank You also that He ROSE from the dead and conquered death and hell for all who will believe on His name. How I praise You that my salvation does not depend on what I have done but on all that Christ has done for me and I look forward, in holy anticipation for the day when the dead in Christ shall be raised and we who are alive and remain will be caught up with them and be with Jesus forever. Thank You that death has been swallowed up in His victory and that I am identified with Him - praise His holy name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your wonderful plan of redemption. Thank You that by faith in Christ I am part of that new creation, who will be changed in a moment - in the twinkling of an eye, when the last trump of God wakes the dead in Christ and we are all clothed with incorruptible bodies. Thank You that Jesus is the First-fruit from the dead and because He lives – we too shall live. Thank You that by His sacrificial death and glorious resurrection death is swallowed up in victory. Thanks be to God, Who always gives us resurrected victory, through Jesus Christ our Lord, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, what a wonderful hope we have in Christ, knowing that by His death, the soul-destroying sting of sin has been removed forever and death has been triumphantly defeated and destroyed for all who are in Christ. Thank You that a day is coming when the dead in Christ will rise to life immortal with incorruptible bodies. Thank You that saints who are still alive will also be clothed with incorruptibility and immortality. Thank You that on that day we can rejoice together, knowing death has been swallowed up in victory. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.

Prayer For Alcoholic Abuse

Dear Lord Jesus, we come to You in deep pain and sadness for those we know who are suffering in one way of another.. due to alcohol abuse, both those that have been ensnared in their own excessive alcohol addiction and also those that are badly affected by the alcoholic abuse of someone else – a spouse, a parent. a child or a friend.

We know that You love and care for each and every addict and desire that they break free from their addiction and come to a saving faith Jesus Christ.. Who died and rose again so that the power of sin and bondage to all forms of addiction might become ineffective in the lives that is focused on the Lord Jesus.

We lift up all those that we know who are suffering in any way, due to alcoholic abuse and addiction, especially those that we know personally.. and pray that in Your grace and mercy You would do a great work in their lives - enabling those in bondage to break free of their debilitating addiction and those affected by the alcoholism of others to be kept our of harms way – and may all come to a saving faith in Jesus and begin to enjoy a close walk with Him, in Jesus name we pray,

Amen

“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Heavenly Father, what a glorious future You have purposed and planned for all who trust in Christ, as our God and Saviour. May I never doubt Your word, but enable me to be steadfast in my daily walk, and strong in my Christian faith. Help me to be productive during my time on earth and help me to carry out Your work and Your will, knowing that my toil is not fruitless in Christ. Thank You for the truth of the resurrection and the knowledge that this mortal body will put on immortality, at Your appointed time. Help me to remain occupied in the work that You have prepared for me to do - to Your praise and glory - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

For Families With An Alcoholic Father

Loving heavenly Father, You put us into families and set a father as the leader and role model for each family… but Lord there are many families that are being torn apart by a husband and father that has become addicted to alcohol.

Knowing the devastating nature of this disease, I pray that You would prompt each one to turn away from this evil habit to become the responsible husband and father that You desire each one to be.

Lord we know that there are many alcoholic husbands that abuse their wives both physically and emotionally and that many children are also placed in danger, due to abuse from an alcoholic father – and also Lord, that such drinking habits can often leave families with insufficient money to live on.

Protect all those that are vulnerable from all forms of abuse and convict such men of the responsibilities of being loving husbands and dependable fathers – and Lord we pray that they turn from their evil ways to turn to the Lord Jesus – knowing that only in You is true freedom found.

Thank You Father – I commit all families that are in this position into Your safe-keeping,

Amen

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness to us and for instructing us on how to live godly lives to Your praise and glory. May I stand firm in the faith and act in a way that does not dishonour Your name. May I be alert to the evils that surround me and my brothers and sisters in Christ and may I never compromise the truth of the glorious gospel of grace but be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.. Help me to withstand the wiles of the devil and be alert to his evil ways. And may all I say and do be done in love - to Your honour and glory in Jesus name I pray, AMEN

Loving Father I confess that in my own strength it is impossible for me to carry out all that I say and do in love, but I know that this is possible in the strength and power of the Spirit of love, because You have promised to pour Your love through me to others so that I may love others as Christ loved me, knowing that it is Christ that loves through me and not me myself. Use me to be a vessel of love in the lives of ALL I meet today - and in the days that lie ahead, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and this instructive letter to the Corinthian church. I pray that I may know You more each day and grow in grace and in a knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord. Give me discernment, I pray, so that I may not be tossed about by false teachings and I pray that the love of Christ may fill my heart and become a conduit, through which Christ's love spills out to those I meet - this I pray in Jesus name, AMEN.
