Praying through 1 Corinthians 3:1

Heavenly Father, thank You for the many warnings against worldliness, carnality, and fleshly desires. Help me to press on for the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. May I become one whose focus is on Christ. My desire is to live and work for Your greater praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.”

Praying through 1 Corinthians 3:3

Lord Jesus, I pray that I may abide in You and grow in grace so that, day by day, I may be conformed into Your image. I ask this in Your name, AMEN.

“For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?”

Praying through 1 Corinthians 3:4

Heavenly Father, there is so much to learn from the corrective instructions in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians. Prevent me from falling into the trap of elevating myself or others in the Body of Christ. Develop in me a teachable spirit, and may all of us in the Body of Christ learn the value of living in unity of spirit for the glory of God. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?”

Praying through 1 Corinthians 3:9

Loving Father, thank You for the privilege of being used in the world as a witness of the Lord Jesus Christ, and to do the work that You have already prepared for me to do. Root out all that is of me, and replace it with the sweet nature of the Lord Jesus, as I carry out the work that You have prepared for me to do, in the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.”

Praying through 1 Corinthians 3:11

Heavenly Father, how I bless and thank You for Your amazing plan of salvation. Thank You that Your dearly loved Son laid aside His glory to become a man so that He could give up His sinless life and bring many sons into glory - by faith in Him. Thank You that Jesus is the Rock of my salvation and the Foundation Stone upon which my faith is founded. Keep me looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Praying through 1 Corinthians 3:15

Heavenly Father, teach me, I pray, to walk in spirit and truth and to live as a spiritual man and not as a carnal Christian. Teach me to live my life as unto You. May my self-life remain nailed to the Cross, and may my new life in Christ do only those things that are honouring to You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”

Praying through 1 Corinthians 3:16

Heavenly Father, I am beginning to understand the incredible privilege and the serious consequences of having Your Spirit indwelling my body. I pray that I may live worthy of the calling to which I have been called. Help me live my life from this day forward, as unto the Lord. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through 1 Corinthians 3:19

Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times I have fallen into the trap of carnality and worldly thinking. I pray that I may keep the eyes of my consciousness upon the Lord Jesus. Keep me from allowing the mind-set of the world to infiltrate my heart and affect my witness. I pray that I may develop spiritual wisdom and forward the good news of the gospel of Christ in a mature manner, that does not engage in unnecessary squabbling or petty differences but is ready to give an instructive answer for the hope I have in Christ. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.”

Praying through 1 Corinthians 3:21

Loving Father, how I thank You that I have been given all spiritual riches to richly enjoy. Thank You for equipping me in the ministry that You have given to me. May my eyes look to Jesus and not to the one that has instructed me about Jesus, for He alone is worthy of praise. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
