Heavenly Father, thank You for the inspired Scriptures and all the truth they contain. I pray that when there is a passage I find difficult or a concept I do not understand, that You would open up my understanding so I may grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus. Thank You that our salvation does not depend on our parents, position, or pedigree, nor is it based on our intellect, skill, education, or nationality. Thank You for all that Jesus endured in His humanity so that He could become the sacrifice for my sin. Thank You that in Your grace You sent Your only begotten Son to live and die so that by faith in Him, I may die to this old self-life and be raised into newness of life. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, there are times when I complain about the trials and tests that seem to pepper my walk through life. May I increasingly learn to regard the various trials I face as pure joy and the inevitable difficulties that come my way as glorious opportunities to rejoice in You. I pray that I may face my daily trials joyfully, knowing that the testing of my faith will produce endurance and steadfastness. May I increase my dependence upon You during good times and bad. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Dear Heavenly Father, I desire to grow in grace and become more like Jesus. I am beginning to understand that in this life, I will have testings and trials. I pray that You will keep me steady in the trials of life. Thanks be to God that by the power of the Holy Spirit, the testing of my faith will develop perseverance in me. May I come forth as gold, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that Your grace is sufficient for every trial and difficulty that I will face in my life. May I be ready and willing to patiently learn the lessons that You would teach me in each situation in life, knowing that I am being perfected in the process. Help me learn to patiently endure with joyful thanks. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father, as the pressures of life are pressing down hard on me, I want to hold fast to the faith and patiently endure. Give me I pray, the wisdom I need to face the future with all joy, knowing my life is hid with Christ in God. Help me to grow in grace and in wisdom as I rest in Your love and trust in Your Word. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that I am encouraged to come boldly to Your throne of grace for help in times of need. Help me to pray in complete faith to You and teach me to always pray in Your will. May I also be reassured that although nothing is impossible for You, sometimes Your answer is no but always for my greater good and Your greater glory. May I never doubt Your goodness or strength, and may I always rely on Your ultimate wisdom. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I do not want to be double minded or filled with doubts, for I know that without faith it is impossible to please You. I pray that I may stand fast on the promises of God and pray in faith, knowing that You have provided all I need for life and godliness. Help me to persevere in the trials of life, hold fast to the Word of truth, mature in the faith, and live my life to Your honour and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, help me to learn the lessons that You would teach me in life, especially during those times of sadness and suffering, and give me the wisdom I need so that I do not waste the opportunities, knowing that the testing of my faith produces steadfastness. May I always approach Your throne of grace in faith and without doubting. I praise and thank You for the good work that You are doing in my life. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your blessings in this life. May I always keep in the forefront of my mind the truth that the Lord gives, and the Lord takes away, and whatever my situation may I declare, "Blessed be the name of the Lord." Whether I live in wealth or scarcity, I pray that I may be content in Christ, remain humble before You, and live for Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, help me to number my days and to set my mind on things above. Keep me from being tempted away from the worthy things of God by the accumulation of worldly wealth and fleshly passions which fade away as quickly as petals of a flower in the blazing sun. Help me to trust in You unwaveringly and faithfully. Develop in me an ever increasing faith in Your gracious provision and sufficient grace, and may I walk worthy all the days of my life. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that in Your sufficient grace I will stand firm in this evil day and in Your strength, I will patiently endure all the trials and tribulations that the enemy throws in my path. And what an amazing blessing to look forward to that after enduring temptations by relying on Your strength, You will reward me with the crown of life. Lord, Your blessings and love for me are more than I could hope or imagine. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are my God and that You use all the trials of life for my eternal benefit. Keep my heart from complaining and may I learn to walk in the light as Christ is in the light so that I may grow in grace and learn more of You with every passing day - in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, help me to recognise my own responsibility for the choices I make. Forgive me for the times that I have excused sin instead of repenting and turning back to You. Keep me low at the cross and looking to Jesus, and help me to make the right choices and to resist temptation.. in the power of the Holy Spirit, to Your praise and glory, AMEN
Loving Father, I want to live in spirit and truth and to resist temptation. I know that there is a path I can choose that seems good but is not of You and ultimately ends in death. Give me Your wisdom, Lord, to turn from what is evil, walk in paths of righteousness, and look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this sober warning. I pray for wisdom, discernment and honesty of heart so that I am not deceived by the enemy who seeks to distort the character of God and cause me to stray from His Word of truth. I pray that I may endure in the trials I face, in the power of the Spirit.. knowing that You are using all things to work together for good in order to refine my character into the person You want me to be. May I live for Your greater glory, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
How we praise and thank You for our precious little baby and all the joy that he/she has brought us, and so Father, into Your hands we commit our precious little one and pray that You grace and love would surround them and that You would keep them in good health and strength, and protect from them from the diseases and illnesses that can be so troubling for a young child
We pray not only for physical health and strength and a strong, healthy body but also for mental well-being and emotional stability.
But also Father, we bring before You the spiritual well-being of our precious child. We pray that our baby would grow up to know and love the Lord Jesus personally and come to accept Him as Saviour.
Lord, we pray that You would endow this little one with health in every area of his development and thank You for what You are going to do in their life. In Jesus' name,
Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus, Who is the living Word of God Thank You for the Bible which is the Word of truth. Thank You for choosing to send the Lord Jesus to be our Redeemer and for making us Your children by grace through faith, so that we might be a kind of first-fruit of Your creatures - Thank You in Jesus name, AMEN.
Loving Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and the wise instructions it contains. I know that having a quick temper and easily becoming angry does not benefit me or those around me and does not glorify You. Help me to put into practice the wise words of Psalm 15: "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word, stirs up anger." Help me to be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wise teachings of James. I realise how important it is to not only have a genuine faith by trusting in the finished work of the Lord Jesus at Calvary, but to be a fruitful Christian in word and in deed. Keep me from worldly ways and from slipping back in the carnality of fleshly living, but may I grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ as I abide in Him. May I bring forth much fruit to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for changing me from a condemned sinner into a redeemed saint - simply by trusting in Christ as my Kinsman Redeemer Who died to pay the price of my sin and rose again, so that I may have life everlasting. Keep me low at the Cross and ready and willing to learn all I can from Your Word and to translate it into godly practice in my daily living. May I be a lovely reflection of the goodness and grace of Jesus for His greater praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this reminder to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus and my heart focussed on the truth of Your Word. Thank You that I am no longer under the curse of the Law of sin and death but have been set free to follow the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. As I look to Him, I pray that I may become increasingly like Him and that I may not only hear Your truth but act on it in word and in deed. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word of truth and the wisdom that it contains. Help me to live my life as unto the Lord in close communion with Christ so that my Christian religion may be pure and undefiled in Your sight. I pray that the words of my mouth may be gracious, and the works of my hands may be carried out to Your praise and glory so that my life becomes a reflection of Christ in me, the hope of glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that Jesus might be seen in me and that, in the power of the Holy Spirit, all I say and do will be done to Your honour and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever, and thank You that there is no shadow of turning with You. Thank You for the Word of God which teaches me how to live godly in Christ Jesus and for this important lesson which calls for humility of heart and a genuine love and respect for all my brothers and sisters in Christ. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this lesson on impartiality and thank You that You are no respecter of persons. Thank You that You did not discriminate against me when I was dead in my sins and at enmity with You. Keep me I pray from any form of hypocrisy and may I increasingly consider the needs and feelings of my brothers and sisters in Christ before my own.. to Your praise and glory in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for my salvation and the many wonderful promises that I have received by grace, simply because I trusted Jesus. Thank You that though I can be poor in material things, I can be rich in faith. May I be reminded that riches are sometimes even an obstacle to my faith. Keep my heart humble before you and full of love for You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and the truths within its pages. Thank You that I am not in bondage to the Law of Moses, but am free to live in the liberty of the Law of the Spirit of God, in Christ Jesus. Thank You for the lessons I can learn from Your dealings with Israel and of the importance of remaining in fellowship with You, day by day. Thank You that Christ died to pay the full price for my sin, and that I have been given the power to live a holy life, that is honouring to You. Keep me from sinning, for I know that sin, in thought, word, or deed, will remove me from the fellowship I enjoy with You. But thank You that Christ's sacrifice for me was made once and for all, and that if I confess those times I fall into sin, You are faithful to forgive me and return me into sweet communion with Yourself. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your loving mercy toward me in that while I was yet a sinner, Christ died for me. As I go about my days in this world that is full of so many judgemental attitudes and actions, may I show forth Your love and mercy to those around me so that they would see Christ in me, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You sent the Lord Jesus Christ to be the propitiation for my sins and that my salvation is through trusting in the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ and does not depend on my good works. But as I walk in spirit and truth, I pray that Christ would be seen in me and that I may bring forth the fruit of good works in my life, to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Heavenly Father, You put us into families and set a father as the leader and role model for each family, but Lord, there are many families that are being torn apart by a husband and father that has become addicted to alcohol.
Knowing the devastating nature of this disease, I pray that You would prompt each one to turn away from this evil habit to become the responsible husband and father that You desire each one to be.
Lord, we know that there are many alcoholic husbands that abuse their wives both physically and emotionally and that many children are also placed in danger due to abuse from an alcoholic father. And also Lord, we know that such drinking habits can often leave families with insufficient money to live on.
Protect all those that are vulnerable from all forms of abuse, and convict such men of the responsibilities of being loving husbands and dependable fathers. Lord, we pray that they turn from their evil ways to turn to the Lord Jesus, knowing that only in You is true freedom found.
Thank You Father. I commit all families that are in this position into Your safe-keeping. In Jesus' name,
Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus and the example He set in His life of a Man Who fulfilled the redemptive work that You had prepared for Him to do, willingly and in the power of the Holy Spirit. I pray that I may work the works of God and demonstrate a living faith that honours Your holy name. I pray that I will not try to carry out dead works in my own strength but rather that I will demonstrate a living faith using Jesus as the pattern for my Christian walk. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, help me to examine myself to make sure I am in the faith. Lord, I believe that Jesus died for my sin and that He rose again, the third day, to pay the price for my sin and the sin of the whole world. Lord, I am not worthy to gather up the crumbs under Your table, but I believe that Christ came to pay the price for MY sin, when He died on the Cross and I believe He broke the power of sin and death in my life and has imputed me with His own righteousness, by faith, for which I am eternally thankful. I praise and thank You for Your goodness and grace towards me. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You there is nothing contradictory in Scripture. I pray that you would open my understanding of passages that may be difficult to understand or taken out of context in order to promote an unbiblical doctrine. Thank You that we are saved by grace through faith and that my salvation depends on the work that Christ has already done and not on the works I do in my Christian life. I pray that I may live a life that is holy unto the Lord and honours Your name and that the works I do 'justify' my faith in You. Give me wisdom and understanding so I may mature in the faith, display patience in trials, show compassion to others be a doer of the Word through the power of Your Holy Spirit, and for your greater glory, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that by Your grace I have been made alive in Christ and have the Holy Spirit living within Who breathed His breath of life into my dead spirit, the moment I trusted Christ as my Saviour. I pray that my faith may be a living faith that produces the good works that You have prepared for me to do and is not a dead, fruitless faith. I pray that others may see Christ living in me and working through me so that Your name would be glorified by my life. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I praise You for the truth of Your Word, and thank You for those that You put in my path, to teach me the glorious gospel of Christ. I pray that I may grow in grace, walk in spirit and truth, mature in the faith, and be ready and willing to tell others the hope that I have in You. Help me to be faithful in all I say and do, and give me opportunities to tell others about Jesus, and the joy of our salvation. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the warnings Your Word gives about the devastation that unguarded words can have. Help me to keep my tongue under control, being slow to speak but quick to listen. May the words that I speak and the meditation of my heart be always acceptable to You, my God and my Saviour. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
O Lord, help me to take this Scripture to heart. I know how much harm words can do as I remember the times I have been hurt by the words of others and hurt others with my own harsh words. Forgive me, Lord. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus' example of how to live on earth to Your praise and glory. I pray that I would not act hypocritically, praising God in one breath and cursing Him in another, but I pray I would reflect the Lord Jesus, speaking always in spirit and in truth with all wisdom and understanding. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the epistle of James and its thought provoking content. May we reflect our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, Who is the personification of godly wisdom and our perfect, representative Man. Thank You that in Christ we have a living example of what a life that is walking in spirit and truth should be. May we die to self and live to Christ so that we may say - the life that I now live in the flesh is not I.. but CHRIST - to His praise and glory.
Heavenly Father, keep me I pray, from any bitterness of heart or selfish ambitions, and help me to walk in spirit and in truth. Give me wisdom and understanding, so that by my actions and attitude, I may walk in Your ways and always be pleasing to You. Strengthen me and enable me to live as Christ lived, in active dependence on You. This I ask in Jesus’ name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus is the power of God and the wisdom of God and that in Him is no confusion or shifting shadows. I know that the enemy likes to bind us up in confusing webs of lies, fear, and doubt. May I resist the devil and keep my eyes focused on Jesus alone. This I ask in Jesus' holy name, AMEN.
Loving Father, I pray that my life is one that demonstrates Your wisdom from above. May I reflect the pure, gentle, and merciful nature of Jesus as I show forth His life in me. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that 'in-Christ' I have the sufficient grace and power through Him to overcome the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. Thank You that Your grace is sufficient for all my needs, for my sufficiency is in Christ alone. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father I do want to pray aright and to pray into Your perfect will. Keep me, I pray, from such covetous thoughts that anchor me to this world, which I know have nothing to offer, but rather help me to focus my eyes on You and keep my ears ever open to Your voice so that I may pray in spirit and truth and proclaim, "Thy will be done." In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I confess that I am too easily drawn into thinking and acting in a worldly way which I know grieves the Holy Spirit. Help me not to be drawn away into friendship with the world which keeps me far away from You. Draw me close to You, Lord, and as I gaze into Your eyes, may the attraction of the world fade away as You become my all in all. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing privilege of the indwelling Holy Spirit Who desires us to be holy for You are holy. Keep me from engaging in strife and acrimony and help me never to foster carnal attitudes or crave after the things of this world. Help me to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and to be careful of needs of my brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray that I may think of others before myself and ask that I may truly die to my own desires and jealously live for Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father, thank You for the great grace that You show to me every day of my life. I pray that I would heed Your serious warnings against prideful boastings and not yield to any ungodly ways. Rather, may I come to You on bended knee with a broken and contrite heart. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Thank You, Heavenly Father, that I am no longer under the domain of Satan but am a child of God who is under grace and not under the Law. I pray that I may walk in spirit and truth to Your praise and honour. In Your power, I pray that I will resist the influences of the world, the flesh, and the devil. Help me to walk in meekness, purity, spirituality, and sincerity all the days of my life, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father, I want to develop a singleness of mind towards You, with my heart purified and my hands clean before You so that I can draw closer and closer to Christ, my Saviour, and Lord. Keep my ears open to Your voice, my eyes open to Your truth, and my heart open to You alone. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wise instruction to live godly and victorious lives in the book of James. I praise and glorify Your holy name that I have all I need for life and godliness, through faith in Jesus Christ. Help me surrender my life and maintain sweet fellowship with You. Purify my heart and keep me from double-mindedness. May I hate sin in all its ugly guises and mourn over the things that dishonour Your holy name. Keep me low at the Cross and I pray that I would humble my heart before you daily, and live and work for Your greater praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN,
Heavenly Father, thank You that You have so clearly set out the criteria for Your children to humble ourselves before Your throne of grace and for the promise that when we are ready and willing to humble ourselves before You... in Your grace You will lift us up and set our feet on the Rock of our salvation. Keep my heart pure before You and use me as a channel of Your goodness and grace to others. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that I may become a doer of Your holy law and not fall into the foolish trap of judging it, by condemning the actions of others. Lord, You alone can judge the thoughts of the heart and I have no right to condemn others, through my own self-righteous attitude. Keep me humble before you and help me become an encouragement to my brothers and sisters in Christ, and not their accuser. Keep me from being 'wise in my own conceit', or making arbitrary assumptions about the motives of others and above all, teach me to love others as Christ loved me, for in so doing I will honour Your name, as Christ lives in and through me. In His precious name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, it is easy to get caught up in the joys and cares of this life. Help me remember how fragile my life is and how short my time on earth is, in relation to eternity. Help me to live my life with an eternal perspective, knowing that You have my life in Your hands, and You do know what tomorrow will bring. May I take to heart the words of this precious old poem: "Only one life 'twill soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last." Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I do not want to live my life apart from You. I surrender my life into Your hands, knowing that You care for me. Thank You that nothing can stop Your perfect will from being done as You unfold Your plan of redemption from eternity past unto its perfect completion. I pray that Your will be done in my life each day, until I see You face to face. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this truth in the book of James that when I know what is righteous and yet do not do it, I am committing a sin in Your eyes. Forgive me for the times when I have known that something is evil but done it anyway, when I have avoided doing what is right, or when I have turned a blind eye to some need or necessity. I pray that from this day forward, I would not only know what is right but be ready and willing to carry it out, through Your sufficient strength and for Your greater glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, at times it does appear that the ungodly are prospering in all they do.. but we praise and thank You that You have promised that those who love You will never be put to shame. Thank You that You are faithful, trustworthy, gracious and of great goodness. Help me to hold fast to the truth of Your Word and to look for the any day appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesu Christ.. Who will one day put all wrongs to right and the earth will be filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea. In Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that I would develop the patient endurance that perfects my faith, through the trials I face and the way I live. Keep me from developing a worldly perspective and wrong values and help me to be like the farmer who waits for the precious produce of the soil to bring forth its fruit in due season. Help me to trust You in all things and to finish the good work You started in my life. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the many lessons that I can learn from Your Word. Thank You for the example of Job and other men and women of faith who patiently endured in times of deep trouble. May I be one that stands firm in my faith and endures to the end in these evil times for Your praise and glory - for You are a God of compassion and mercy Whose love endures from one generation to another. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the encouragement and truth that is contained in this short but important little verse. May I seek You in all life's needs and necessities through prayer and intercession, and may I rejoice in Your never-failing faithfulness and unchanging goodness and grace. Keep me low at the Cross and rejoicing in my heart for all that You are to me... and to all who have trusted in You for their salvation. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I am so thankful for the wonderful doctors and nurses who always do their best to help me when I am sick or injured. But help me to remember that You are the Great Physician Who is fully able to heal if it is Your will. Thank You that when I am sick I can visit the doctor, but help me to also come to You for healing, to be prayed over and anointed by the elders of my church. Forgive me for the times that I have doubted You and tried to sort things out in my life on my own. Give me a humble heart and increase my trust in You. May I never forget that Your grace is sufficient for every eventuality of life. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I desire to maintain sweet fellowship with You and to walk godly in Christ Jesus. Help me to recognise my faults and quickly seek Your forgiveness. Help me also to confess my faults to those I have wronged, and I pray that I may maintain an attitude of prayer and learn to pray fervently in spirit and truth so that in Christ my prayers may be effective and avail much, to Your honour and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
