Prayer for James 1

Praying through James 1:1

Heavenly Father, thank You for the inspired Scriptures and all the truth they contain. I pray that when there is a passage I find difficult or a concept I do not understand, that You would open up my understanding so I may grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus. Thank You that our salvation does not depend on our parents, position, or pedigree, nor is it based on our intellect, skill, education, or nationality. Thank You for all that Jesus endured in His humanity so that He could become the sacrifice for my sin. Thank You that in Your grace You sent Your only begotten Son to live and die so that by faith in Him, I may die to this old self-life and be raised into newness of life. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.

“James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.”

Praying through James 1:11

Heavenly Father, help me to number my days and to set my mind on things above. Keep me from being tempted away from the worthy things of God by the accumulation of worldly wealth and fleshly passions which fade away as quickly as petals of a flower in the blazing sun. Help me to trust in You unwaveringly and faithfully. Develop in me an ever increasing faith in Your gracious provision and sufficient grace, and may I walk worthy all the days of my life. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Prayer For Our Baby To Be Healthy

How we praise and thank You for our precious little baby and all the joy that he/she has brought us, and so Father, into Your hands we commit our precious little one and pray that You grace and love would surround them and that You would keep them in good health and strength, and protect from them from the diseases and illnesses that can be so troubling for a young child

We pray not only for physical health and strength and a strong, healthy body but also for mental well-being and emotional stability.

But also Father, we bring before You the spiritual well-being of our precious child. We pray that our baby would grow up to know and love the Lord Jesus personally and come to accept Him as Saviour.

Lord, we pray that You would endow this little one with health in every area of his development and thank You for what You are going to do in their life. In Jesus' name,

Amen.

Praying through James 1:19

Loving Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and the wise instructions it contains. I know that having a quick temper and easily becoming angry does not benefit me or those around me and does not glorify You. Help me to put into practice the wise words of Psalm 15: "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word, stirs up anger." Help me to be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:”

Praying through James 1:22

Heavenly Father, thank You for the wise teachings of James. I realise how important it is to not only have a genuine faith by trusting in the finished work of the Lord Jesus at Calvary, but to be a fruitful Christian in word and in deed. Keep me from worldly ways and from slipping back in the carnality of fleshly living, but may I grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ as I abide in Him. May I bring forth much fruit to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

As I look to Him, I pray that I may become increasingly like Him and that I may not only hear Your truth but act on it in word and in deed. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
