Praying through Amos 3:3

Heavenly Father, thank You that I have been saved by grace by trusting in Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Help me to live in a manner that is pleasing to you, to walk in truth and love, to pray without ceasing, to give thanks in all things, to trust in Your Word, and to depend on You through time and into eternity. Thank You for the sweet fellowship I can have with fellow believers. May I not forsake assembling together with my brothers and sisters, especially as the day of Your return is drawing nearer. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Amos 3:7

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your prophetic Word and the truths that You have shared with us through Your servants, the prophets. Thank You for Your incarnate Word - the Lord Jesus Christ. Help me to read and understand all that is going on in these last days of the Church dispensation. I pray that I may be one that sounds the warning of the coming wrath of God on this Christ-rejecting, sinful world, and point them to the Word of God which contains all that we need for life and godliness. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”

Praying through Amos 4:12

Heavenly Father, there are many today who are unaware that the day of grace is soon to be closed and that they will one day have to stand before Jesus Christ as their Saviour OR their Judge. Thank You that we have been saved by grace because Jesus took the punishment that we deserve upon Himself. Thank You that Jesus was judged in our place.. so that we would not have to face Your wrath .. but have received forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. We pray for the multitudes that do not know You or who have deliberately refused to recognize the truth and repent of their sin and we plead the blood of Jesus for their forgiveness.. We pray that in Your wrath You will remember mercy and bring many into the kingdom today.. by grace through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord - in Whose name we pray, AMEN.

“Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.”

Praying through Amos 5:21

Heavenly Father, how I thank You for the lessons I can learn from Israel. Thank You that when Jesus offered Himself once and for all as the sacrifice for sins, it was pleasing to God. Thank You that He is now seated at the right hand of the Father, having finished His work on the Cross. Keep me low at the Cross and broken before You, as You complete Your perfect plan of redemption, for both Your Church and Your nation, Israel. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.”

Praying through Amos 7:17

Heavenly Father, help me to pay attention to all that You are saying through Your Word. I pray that I may have a teachable spirit and an ear that listens to all that the Spirit says to the Churches. Keep me from prideful thoughts, harmful words, foolish decisions, and careless actions, and may I never hold Your truth lightly but diligently apply it in my heart and practice it in my life. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.”

Prayers For Those That Are In Need

Dear God, I know that it is Your will to help those that are afflicted, to support the weak, to provide for the widows and orphans and to help those that are in need.

Use my hands to be of service to those in need, and use my voice to speak words of healing and encouragement to those that are afflicted and in distress. Thank You for hearing my prayer. In Jesus' name,

Amen.

“That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?”

Praying through Amos 8:11

Heavenly Father, there are many sombre passages and warnings that we need to heed, in a world that is saturated in sin. Help me to keep my heart soft towards Your Word and willing to receive Your correction. Help me to keep the focus of my eyes on Jesus and my ears ever open to Your Word of truth, for Your Word is life and light, health and wholeness. Thank You that You did not give up on Israel, and thank You that You will never give up on me. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:”

Praying through Amos 9:11

Heavenly Father, thank You that You have not finished with the nation of Israel, despite their apostasy and idolatry. Thank You that Your promises to both Israel and the Church are fulfilled in Christ, through Whose sacrificial death and glorious resurrection, all things have been made new. Thank You that the day is coming when the earth will be filled with the glory of God, as the waters cover the sea. You alone are worthy of our praise and thanksgiving. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:”
