Prayer for 1 Thessalonians

Choose Chapter

Heavenly Father, thanks You for the amazing truth in this little verse of Scripture that by grace through faith we are positioned in God the Father and also in our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You that we are safe in Your hand and that nothing in heaven above or the earth beneath can separate us from the love of God which is ours by faith in Christ Jesus our Lord. Thank You that I have peace with God through faith in Christ and access to the peace of God in my heart. Thank You for the lives and faithful witness of Paul, Silas and Timothy and I pray that I would fulfil Your will for my life in Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Heavenly Father, how grateful we are to have the inspired scriptures as a mirror through which we are enabled to see the things we need to do, to honour Your name. I pray that I may remain firm in the faith, grow in love and rejoice in the blessed hope that we have in Christ. Thank You for the privilege of prayer and for the wonderful witness we have from Paul's powerful praying. I pray that my intercessions and prayers may be guided by You as we look for that glorious day when Christ comes for His Church... and may we all be sanctified entirely - spirit; soul and body, and be made complete and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ - in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;”

I pray that I may grow in grace and in a knowledge of Christ Jesus my Saviour and do all for Your greater praise and glory - this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, how we praise and thank You for the wonderful truth that we were chosen in Christ, from before the foundation of the world, to be Your elect people, and thank You that every one born of woman has the opportunity to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. We praise You that You do not exclude anyone who truly turns to You for salvation and thank You that it is not Your will that anyone should be lost and that Your Holy Spirit continues to convict man of sin, righteousness and judgement. May we who have been saved by grace through faith in Christ be ready and willing to be a good testimony to all with whom we come in contact, so that others may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven - this we ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Thank You that the Word of truth has been passed down to us through generations of believers who have faithfully shared the good news. Thank You for those who shared the gospel with me and I pray that You would use me to share the truth of the gospel for the benefit of others.. in word, in deed, in the power of the indwelling Spirit and for Your eternal glory - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN

Loving Father I long to walk in spirit and truth in the power of Your Holy Spirit so that I decrease in my own importance and Christ increases in my life, to become all in all. May the joy of the Lord be my strength in all the difficulties and trials of life, so that Christ is seen in me and others may be drawn to Him through my witness, – this I pray in Christ’s name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your great and precious promises. Thank You that I have been saved by grace, (through faith in Christ), from the wrath to come and that one day I will be with Him in heaven. Thank You that I am not appointed to wrath, but that Christ took the full force of Your fury against my sin on the cross of Calvary. May I never forget what it cost my Saviour to be Your sacrificial Lamb and my sin- substitute. He alone is worthy of all praise and thanksgiving - in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the wake-up call that there are many ways that we can defraud one another, in thought, word and deed, and I pray that I would seek to live in purity of heart and walk in spirit and in truth.. for Your glory and the benefit of my neighbour. Forgive me for the times when I have not lived according to Your perfect will. Keep me from falling into sin and may I never forget that there are consequences to all wrongdoing, and that You are a God Who is the Avenger in all things.
