Praying through Joshua 2:1

Heavenly Father, thank You for the many lessons we can learn from the life of Joshua. I pray that by faith I would carry out Your perfect will for my life, with courage, and in the power of Your Holy Spirit. Praying through Joshua 2:6

Heavenly Father, help me to take to heart the important lessons in the story of Rahab, the two spies that came to her home, and their escape from Jericho. Thank You that You are a God Who uses everything to work towards the fulfilment of Your perfect plans and purposes, even when we fail to trust You as we ought. Thank You for Rahab's example of faith in You through her protection of the Israelite spies, and for the reminder that lying and other sins are never condoned by You even when the motive to do so is for the good of others. Help me maintain my faith in You even when my circumstances appear impossible, for Your Word is true and Your promises are 'yes' and 'amen' in Jesus, for which I praise and thank You. In His holy name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through Joshua 2:18

Heavenly Father, thank You for Rahab's example of faith when she chose to trust Your word and place that crimson thread into her window - believing that you would fulfil Your promise to her. Thank You that even when surrounded by bitter enemies, I know that nothing can separate me from the love of Christ Jesus in Whom I trust. Give me the grace to withstand the advances of my enemies who would seek to shipwreck my faith and keep me ever looking to Jesus - the Author and Finisher of my faith, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household, home unto thee.”

Praying through Joshua 2:21

Heavenly Father, thank You for the beautiful truth in the story of Rahab that no sin is too great to receive Your forgiveness, and no sinner is denied the opportunity to be saved by grace through faith in Christ. Thank You that You are no respecter of persons, and no sin is so great that it cannot be forgiven by Your unfathomable forgiveness and amazing grace. Thank You for the wonderful truth that no obstacle is too great for You to topple, and nothing is too difficult for You to do. Increase my faith I pray, so that doubts do not rise in my mind when I have to wait for You to carry out Your perfect plan, at Your perfect time, in Your perfect way. As I face the difficulties in my life, I pray that I would trust You in all things and be filled with the Spirit, day by day, as I persevere in His power and submit to His leading. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And she said, According unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window.”

Thank You that You gained the victory over all the enemies of my soul and that in Christ, I have been redeemed and declared righteous. Teach me Your way and help my ears to be ever open to Your leading and guidance. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Joshua 6:5

Heavenly Father, what a wonderful display of faith we see in this historical account of Joshua's victory over Jericho. For Families With An Alcoholic Father

Loving Heavenly Father, You put us into families and set a father as the leader and role model for each family, but Lord, there are many families that are being torn apart by a husband and father that has become addicted to alcohol.

Knowing the devastating nature of this disease, I pray that You would prompt each one to turn away from this evil habit to become the responsible husband and father that You desire each one to be.

Lord, we know that there are many alcoholic husbands that abuse their wives both physically and emotionally and that many children are also placed in danger due to abuse from an alcoholic father. And also Lord, we know that such drinking habits can often leave families with insufficient money to live on.

Protect all those that are vulnerable from all forms of abuse, and convict such men of the responsibilities of being loving husbands and dependable fathers. Lord, we pray that they turn from their evil ways to turn to the Lord Jesus, knowing that only in You is true freedom found.

Thank You Father. I commit all families that are in this position into Your safe-keeping. In Jesus' name,

“Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.”

“Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.”

Praying through Joshua 24:15

Loving Father, I begin to understand more and more that I can't be divided in my loyalty, for You alone have the words of eternal life. Today, Lord, I choose to go deeper into You, for I desire to serve You with my whole heart.
