Prayer for Daniel

Praying through Daniel 1:3

Heavenly Father, as I reflect on Daniel and his three friends who refused to be brainwashed by the Babylonian culture into which they were forced, I see how Satan's plan continues to be the indoctrination of young people with worldly principles and ungodly practices. Protect the hearts and minds of children and students, especially those from Christian families and those who know the Lord as Saviour. Give them courage to stand fast in the evil day, and help each one to discover Your strength is sufficient in every eventuality of life. Thank You that You are my God and may I never stray from the path of peace. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.”

Praying through Daniel 2:18

Heavenly Father, thank You that You are a God Who hears and answers the prayers and petitions of Your people. Help me to cast all my cares on You and to bring all my problems and difficulties to You immediately, no matter how large or small they may be. Help me to always turn to You FIRST when I am faced with tough problems, just like Daniel and his three friends. Thank You that nothing is too difficult for You to deal with, and I pray that I would ALWAYS turn to you first, rather than trying to sort things out on my own. Thank You for being such a faithful God. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.”
(Daniel 2:18)

Praying through Daniel 2:20

Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of unshakable faith we see in the lives of Daniel and his three friends when faced with an impossible task. Increase my faith, I pray, and help me to follow their wise example by bringing everything to You in prayer and supplication when confronted by the difficulties and dangers of life... knowing that ALL wisdom, knowledge, power, and preeminence, belongs to You. Give me godly courage and a childlike trust in You, and I pray that I would not falter when faced with challenging circumstances but look to You alone - for You have promised to be with us in every eventuality of life and are worthy of all our praise and worship forever and ever. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:”

Praying through Daniel 2:34

Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus is the Rock on which I stand and the Stone Who will finally smash the kingdoms of this world, when He returns in power and great glory to set up His kingdom on earth. Keep me ever looking to Him and trusting Him in every area of my life. When the enemy comes in like a flood, in my individual life and our lives corporately, I praise and thank You that YOU are our Standard, and will fight for us, protect us and provide for all our needs, according to Your riches in glory. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven, for You alone are worthy and YOURS is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever, AMEN.

“Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.”

Praying through Daniel 2:38

Heavenly Father, thank You for telling us the end from the beginning and purposing in Your heart to save me from my sin. Thank You that a day is coming when You will bring to nothing the proud puppets of Satan, who have enslaved the world, rejected Your offer of salvation, and put on a necklace of rebellion and pride. Keep me ever looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith, the Rock on Whom I stand, and the Stone Who will smash to pieces all that is evil. How I praise Your name for the holy Scriptures. Increase my understanding I pray, and keep me looking for Christ's any day return. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.”

Praying through Daniel 2:44

Heavenly Father, it is amazing and wonderful to realise that You know the end from the beginning and that from the foundation of the world, You purposed in Your heart to redeem Your fallen race and return the sceptre of power to humanity, through the Person and work of Your only begotten Son. Thank You that no evil weapon nor nefarious plan formed against us will triumph, for Jesus won the victory 2000 years ago on a wooden cross, when He shed His lifeblood to pay the price for the sin of the whole world. Thank You that You have revealed Your purpose and plan through the prophetic writings of Daniel and other holy men of God, and that every kingdom of this evil world system will soon be supernaturally crushed by Christ Whose kingdom will never end. Open the eyes of those who have been blinded by the god of this world and bring many into Your kingdom, before it is too late. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.”

Praying through Daniel 3:1

Heavenly Father, I pray that in the difficulties and dangers that cross my path, I will stand firm in the faith and maintain my trust and my hope in You. Thank You for the example of Daniel, who honoured You no matter what challenges he faced. Give me courage in the face of danger, wisdom when confronted by godless men, and hope in Your eternal Word of truth. Thank You for my great salvation, and for the knowledge that Christ has already gained victory over this world's system. Thank You, that Jesus is coming back to crush the kingdoms of this world and set up His eternal rule of righteousness. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.

Praying through Daniel 4:3

Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing book of Daniel, where I can learn so much from the lessons about the dangers of human pride, the folly of a double-minded man, and that wisdom and understanding comes from You alone. Thank You for the reassuring knowledge that You are in control of every area of my life. I can truly confess with my whole heart, through the words that Nebuchadnezzar proclaimed, "How great are Your signs and how mighty are Your wonders! Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion is from generation to generation." Praise Your holy name! AMEN.

“How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.”

Praying through Daniel 7:13

Heavenly Father, how amazing and gracious that You would tell us the end from the beginning. Thank You that You loved Your fallen creation so much, that You would give Your only begotten Son to suffer so cruelly on the Cross to save humanity from their sin - such that whosoever believes on Him would not perish but receive everlasting life. Thank You that my sin was judged at the Cross. I pray that many who are blinded by Satan, the deceiving god of this age, would have their eyes open to the truth of the glorious gospel of grace, and be saved by faith. I ask this in Jesus' precious name, AMEN.

“I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.”

For America As A Nation Who Has Lost Its Way

Loving Lord, I come to You to place the once great nation of United States of America at Your feet, knowing that our great country and it's constitution was made for a moral and religious people and is wholly inadequate for any other form of government, and yet we have strayed so far from the principles and practices of our great founders, who drew up our constitution based on Your Word.

But Lord, although this was once the land of the brave and the home of the free, sadly there is so much that is wrong with our country that I fear for its future. Lord, as a people we have walked away from You and discredited Your holy name by the way that we have conducted ourselves over the past few years and there is no health in our land.

Look down in pity on our people and our land, and protect us from those that seem determined on destroying our nation. Send Your Spirit I pray, through the land of America, and touch the hearts of all those that are called by Your name to plead on behalf our people. Convict those that are damaging our infrastructure and as a nation may we turn away from our wicked ways and return You to Your rightful position, in integrity and truth.

I ask this in Jesus' name,

Amen.

“And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;”

Praying through Daniel 9:19

Loving Heavenly Father, I have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, and have not loved You as I ought. For the sake of Your holy name, forgive me and refresh my heart as I ready myself for Your soon return. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.”

Praying through Daniel 9:20

Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You for the wonderful example of Daniel, who was a man of prayer who knew the Scriptures, trusted Your Word, prayed into Your will and translated the needs of his fellow men into humble confession and godly intercession. I pray that I may be one that studies to show myself approved unto God.. come to a deeper understanding of Your perfect character and be guided by the Holy Spirit to pray into Your will - to Your praise and glory, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

“And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;”

Praying through Daniel 9:24

Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Your plans and purposes for both the Church, which is Your Body, and also for Your chosen people, Israel. Help me to study Your prophecies to show myself approved, but not to become so consumed with the letter of the prophetic Scriptures, that I fail to recognise that One about Whom all Scripture speaks and through Whom all prophecy will finally be fulfilled, my dear Lord Jesus. Thank You for all that Jesus achieved through His death and Resurrection. Thank You that He is interceeding for each of us in heavenly places, and thank You for the many promises that are ours by grace through faith in Him. To Him be all praise and glory, forever and ever, AMEN.

“Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.”

Praying through Daniel 9:25

Heavenly Father, thank You that You have told us the end from the beginning and that despite Israel rejecting and crucifying their God and Saviour, You have not finished with that nation and Your plans and purposes will be finally and fully carried out as recorded in Holy Writ. Help me to understand all that You would have me to learn about the end times in which we live. As we draw ever closer to the final chapter in Your plan of redemption, may I be ready for the soon return of Christ to take His Church to be with Himself, forever. Thank You, Father, that the enemy is unable to thwart Your eternal redemptive plan and that Israel will one day call out to Jesus for salvation, and thank You that He will return, as foretold by Scripture, to set up His kingdom on earth. I praise You that Your unconditional promises to Abraham, Isaac, Israel, and David, stand fast forever and that Your promises to the Body of Christ are 'yes' and 'amen' in Christ Jesus, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.”

Praying through Daniel 9:27

Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing prophecy in the book of Daniel and for telling us what is shortly to take place so that we can put our house in order and tell others the truth of the glorious gospel of grace - while there is still time. Thank You that I have been saved by grace through faith and have an assurance that I have an inheritance reserved for me in heaven. But Lord, there are many who do not know the glorious truth that Christ died for their sins and rose again to save all who would believe in Him for the forgiveness of their sin. Give me an evangelistic heart so that I may proclaim the gospel of grace and warn the unsaved that today is the day of salvation. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

Praying through Daniel 11:32

Heavenly Father, thank You for the Word of God and the truth it contains. Thank You that You have told us the end from the beginning. Keep me from the deceptive lies of wicked people and help me to discern false doctrines of apostate teachers. Save Your people Israel I pray, and together with the Holy Spirit of God, may all who trust in Christ as Saviour cry out, "Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus!" In His name, AMEN.

“And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”

Praying through Daniel 12:1

Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing insights we receive from the prophetic book of Daniel and his revelations into the coming time of Jacob’s Trouble, when Michael will stand up to protect the little nation of Israel from the hands of the satanic Antichrist whose desire is to exterminate them so that they may not call on the name of the Lord and be saved. Thank You that nothing and no-one can stop Your plans and purposes, for both Israel and the Church, and that everything will be fulfilled at Your appointed time and in Your appointed way. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.”

Praying through Daniel 12:2

Heavenly Father, thank You, for all I can learn from the book of Daniel about the end times and the resurrection of the dead. Thank You that I have been saved by grace, through faith in Christ and will not take part in the second death, the everlasting terror of the fires of hell. Thank You that anyone can be declared righteous by faith and that every member of the human race has to make their choice, either to trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins or to reject His offer of salvation. Give me boldness to proclaim Your gospel to the lost so that more people can choose to trust in Jesus and be saved. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”
