Prayer for Daniel 9

For America As A Nation Who Has Lost Its Way

Loving Lord, I come to You to place the once great nation of United States of America at Your feet, knowing that our great country and it's constitution was made for a moral and religious people and is wholly inadequate for any other form of government, and yet we have strayed so far from the principles and practices of our great founders, who drew up our constitution based on Your Word.

But Lord, although this was once the land of the brave and the home of the free, sadly there is so much that is wrong with our country that I fear for its future. Lord, as a people we have walked away from You and discredited Your holy name by the way that we have conducted ourselves over the past few years and there is no health in our land.

Look down in pity on our people and our land, and protect us from those that seem determined on destroying our nation. Send Your Spirit I pray, through the land of America, and touch the hearts of all those that are called by Your name to plead on behalf our people. Convict those that are damaging our infrastructure and as a nation may we turn away from our wicked ways and return You to Your rightful position, in integrity and truth.

I ask this in Jesus' name,

Amen.

“And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;”

Praying through Daniel 9:19

Loving Heavenly Father, I have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, and have not loved You as I ought. For the sake of Your holy name, forgive me and refresh my heart as I ready myself for Your soon return. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.”

Praying through Daniel 9:20

Heavenly Father, I praise and thank You for the wonderful example of Daniel, a man of prayer who knew the Scriptures and trusted Your Word. He prayed into Your will and translated the needs of his fellow men into humble confession and godly intercession. I pray that I may be one that studies to show myself approved unto God, come to a deeper understanding of Your perfect character, and be guided by the Holy Spirit to pray into Your will, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;”

Praying through Daniel 9:24

Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Your plans and purposes for both the Church, which is Your Body, and also for Your chosen people, Israel. Help me to study Your prophecies to show myself approved, but not to become so consumed with the letter of the prophetic Scriptures, that I fail to recognise that One about Whom all Scripture speaks and through Whom all prophecy will finally be fulfilled, my dear Lord Jesus. Thank You for all that Jesus achieved through His death and Resurrection. Thank You that He is interceeding for each of us in heavenly places, and thank You for the many promises that are ours by grace through faith in Him. To Him be all praise and glory, forever and ever, AMEN.

“Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.”

Praying through Daniel 9:25

Heavenly Father, thank You that You have told us the end from the beginning and that despite Israel rejecting and crucifying their God and Saviour, You have not finished with that nation and Your plans and purposes will be finally and fully carried out as recorded in Holy Writ. Help me to understand all that You would have me to learn about the end times in which we live. As we draw ever closer to the final chapter in Your plan of redemption, may I be ready for the soon return of Christ to take His Church to be with Himself, forever. Thank You, Father, that the enemy is unable to thwart Your eternal redemptive plan and that Israel will one day call out to Jesus for salvation, and thank You that He will return, as foretold by Scripture, to set up His kingdom on earth. I praise You that Your unconditional promises to Abraham, Isaac, Israel, and David, stand fast forever and that Your promises to the Body of Christ are 'yes' and 'amen' in Christ Jesus, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.”

Praying through Daniel 9:27

Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing prophecy in the book of Daniel and for telling us what is shortly to take place so that we can put our house in order and tell others the truth of the glorious gospel of grace - while there is still time. Thank You that I have been saved by grace through faith and have an assurance that I have an inheritance reserved for me in heaven. But Lord, there are many who do not know the glorious truth that Christ died for their sins and rose again to save all who would believe in Him for the forgiveness of their sin. Give me an evangelistic heart so that I may proclaim the gospel of grace and warn the unsaved that today is the day of salvation. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”
