Thank You that I am part of that great cloud of Church-age witnesses to the truth of the glorious gospel of grace - which was started at Pentecost and which has spread to every nation and tribe, people and language. Thank You that I have been born again by the power of the Holy Spirit and baptised into the body of Christ, which had its beginning in that special room, on that first day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was sent to be the permanently, indwelling Helper for all Christians - Thank You in Jesus name AMEN.

Prayer For The Recovery Of A Friend

Dear God, You are the giver of life and health and You are the healer of the sick and the suffering – we pray for a dear friend who is in distress with ill-health today and pray that You would help them to come to a full recovery and restore them to wholeness, health and strength.

Lord I do ask that You would meet my friend at their point of need – not only in their physical suffering but also in their spiritual sickness. Lord my dear friend not only needs recovery of their physical health but recovery of their spiritual lack and the emotional pain - that seems to be making their physical problem so much worse.

Administer all Your gifts of health and healing for body and mind I pray and multiply Your blessings and grace towards them so that they may be fully restored and come to a deeper knowledge and understanding of You, in Jesus name,

Amen

Heavenly Father. What a wonderful truth that Christ died for me according to the scripture, that He was buried and rose again and is seated on the right hand of the Father, in heavenly glory. Lord Jesus it says in Your Word, examine Yourself to see it you are in the faith – Lord I realise that this is not talking to unbelievers but to all of us who are Your children, in Christ Jesus. Lord help me to examine myself, and all that I am, and all that I am learning from You and Your word, so that I truly may say with conviction :-I know in Whom I have believed and am walking in the path on which He has placed me.

Keep me also from critical thoughts of others, and prevent me Lord, from having a spirit of control – or by pretending to hold others accountable to You when the beam in my own eye is greater than the speck that is in my brothers’ eyes.

Keep me humble before Your throng of grace and may I walk the way of the cross day be day - with the Spirit as my teacher and the Word of God washing me clean. Thank You for all my Christian friends and brothers and keep us all walking close to You in the days that lie ahead, in Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Prayer For Life Of Purpose

Heavenly Father I thank You that Your perfect plans and purposes can never be frustrated and that You are working quietly in the background in order that Your divine will continues to progress towards its ultimate goal, as year succeeds to year.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your word and the truths that it contains. I pray that I may read its pages with wisdom and understanding. Help me to recognise the different audiences that are being addressed in different Bible passages. Keep me from reading into the Scriptures what I think it is saying rather than understanding it in its correct context. Help me to grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

Prayer For Guidance While In A Different Country

Dear Lord, I ask You to guide me and give me wisdom as I move away from my family and my home country to work in a foreign place. I ask You to be with me in all that I do as I face the challenge of learning to live and work in a different culture with different standards and beliefs. Enable me to adjust to the differences but not be caught up in the things if this world.

Give me wisdom and discernment to as I meet new people, and help me to be both cautious in my dealings as well as kind in my actions. May I walk in the path that You have called me to go and not stray from Your guidance.

Provide I pray all my needs and necessities and provide me with health and strength as I face the challenges that face me - and be the best that I can be in the place that You have called me to go.

Be with all my loved ones that I am leaving behind and keep them safe in the arms of Jesus, day by day and bring us back together in Your way and Your own good time. I ask this in the name of my Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Amen

For Rain In Its Season

Heavenly Father, thank You that You are a God whose promises never fail and Whose word is righteous and true – and Father You have promised to send rain in their seasons so that the land will yield its increase and the trees will bear their fruit – but Lord the severe lack of rain has caused this land to become like a dust bowl and we are afraid that the labour of planting and harvesting will come to nothing if we do not receive rain very soon.

Lord Your word says “He will give the rain for your land in its season, the early and late rain, that you may gather in your grain and Your new wine and Your oil,” and You have promised, “rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying hearts with food and gladness.”

Lord we do not deserve Your grace but for the sake of Your holy name we ask that You would water the land and provide us with the rain that You promised in this season – for Jesus name sake,

Amen

“Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”

Prayer To Overcome Today’s Difficulties

Father God, I know that the life-path I am treading is fraught with difficulties and problems but Lord I trust You to lead and guide me through the maze of life, because You have promised to be with me to lead and to guide – to strengthen and to help.

Let me never lose sight of who I am in Christ and help me to trust You in all things, knowing that I am Your child and that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.

Thank You that You are my Shepherd Who has promised to lead and to guide.. to protect and to uphold. Thank You that you are my Defence and my Defender and that You have promised to be my ever-present help in those times of unexpected difficulties and trials.

Thank You Lord, that You remain faithful and dependable, even when I stray from the path that You have graciously laid out for me. May I never forget that You are my firm Anchor and the steady Rock upon which I stand, and that no difficulty in life is to great that You cannot overcome – thank You in Jesus name,

Amen

I praise You O God for this sublimely simple truth and thank You that all I had to do to be saved was to believe on the finished work of the Lord Jesus on Calvary. There are many people both in the world and in my own family that have not believed this simple truth, I pray that You will use me as your instrument today, to share the good news of the glorious gospel of Christ - in action, attitude or prayer so that others may come to a knowledge of this eternally wonderful truth, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

That They Learn To Trust Jesus as Saviour

Heavenly Father I lift us each of my grandchildren to You and thank You for each life that is so special in Your sight. Lord I pray that each one will come to know Christ as Saviour early in their lives and desire a close walk with You through their teens and twenties and into adulthood.

May they learn to love Your Word and to come to know the value of prayer in their lives so that they grow up into men and women that live godly in Christ Jesus,

Lord I pray that all of us that have a touch on these young lives will teach them day by day about the Lord Jesus and the wonderful truths in Your Word – both in word and by example - just as the mother and grandmother of Timothy taught him the truth of the Word of God. Guide each of my precious grandchildren into all truth and bring them into true saving faith I pray… for You have promised that children that are brought up in the way that they should go will not depart from it as they grow older..

Keep each one I pray under the shadow of Your protection and love and may they grow in grace and discernment and wisdom throughout their lives – and use each one I pray in Your service I pray, to Your praise and glory, in Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of the apostle Paul, who spent his life teaching the good news of the gospel of God, so that men would hear the truth of the gospel of grace, and be saved. Give me a heart for the lost, and help me to meet the people with whom I come in contact, at their point of need, and present the gospel to them clearly and without hesitation. We pray that many would come to faith in Christ today. Raise us more men and women who will share the good news of the gospel of God in every nation and city, so that many will hear and believe that Jesus died for their sin, that He rose again and that by faith in Him, their sins are forgiven, and eternal life is their portion. This we ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Prayer Of Repentance Following An Abortion

Heavenly Father, You know all that I have done in my life, and how I have skirted around the issue of my abortion, dismissed the significance of this sin in my life and tried to pretend that it was no big deal.

But Lord, I now confess to You this terrible sin and realise increasingly that it is detestable in Your sight to abort a new little life. I confess my wrongdoing and grieve to think of the unborn baby that I chose to terminate in my womb.

I confess my sin and repent of my casual attitude and ask for Your healing touch on my life. Help me to release this painful memory to You and to accept that Your promise of forgiveness to all who repent of their sins and turn to Christ.

Thank You that You paid the price for all my sins at Calvary and that You have promised to remove them as far as the east is from the west… Thank You in Jesus name,

Amen

Prayer For Accountability in Our Christian Life

Loving Lord, we thank You for Your written Word which contains all that we need as unbelievers to be forgiven of sins as well as all that we need as Your saved children - to live godly lives in Christ Jesus.

Father I realise that in Your grace You have excluded no one from Your gift of Salvation but simply hold us accountable to believe in Your precious Son – but now I understand that You also hold me accountable to grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus – by faith in Christ and not by trusting in my own abilities - if I am to become a mature believer in Christ.

Lord I want to grow in my Christian life and to live my life as unto the Lord. Teach me Your ways and guide me with Your Holy Spirit. Give me a teachable Spirit and a desire to apply all the truths that I am learning – for I desire to do Your will in my life… in Jesus name I pray,

Amen
“But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for the Word of God which is profitable for teaching; rebuking; correcting and training in righteousness. May we individually and collectively be on our spiritual guard, not only for our own well-being but also for those that You have seen fit to place in our lives. Give grace and wisdom to all who are called to be elders or overseers in local churches today, and protect all believers who have fallen prey to false teachers or who have been exposed to doctrines of demons. Protect the hearts and minds of all Your children and guide each one of us into the way of truth - this we ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Prayer For The Church To Be Sanctified

Father, we pray that as members of the body of Christ we may learn to be imitators of You and to walk in love, with one another.. just as the Lord Jesus Christ loved us and gave Himself as an offering and sweet-smelling sacrifice - holy and acceptable to God.

Thank You Father that in Christ we are children of the light. May we walk in the light of the Lord, Who is the Way, the Truth, the Light and the Life - and Lord we know that Your purpose for the Church is to transform each one into the likeness of the Lord Jesus – until He is all in all.

We pray that as member of His body we may walk in all goodness and righteousness and live a life that is honoring to You. Teach us we pray to do only those things that are pleasing in Your sight and we ask that every member of the body of Christ may be sanctified – set apart unto You and cleansed with the washing of the water by the word of God, and made holy in thought word and deed.

We pray that the Church may be purified by the Spirit of power, so that she may be without spot or wrinkle or any such thing – but holy and blameless before You in love – We ask this in Jesus name

Amen

“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”

Use me in the days that lie ahead to Your praise and glory, this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

To Be Freed From My Burdensome Addiction

Dear Lord Jesus, my addiction is a terrible burden and a such a shame to me and yet I find myself constantly returning to behaviours that I hate and long to be able to shed. I am so ashamed Lord and yet I know that You were the One Who said that You came to set the captives free – and Lord I am a captive. I am a captive and slave of this terrible addiction and yet to long to be freed and to live a normal life.

Free me Lord I pray from this compulsion for it is stifling my life and has cost me many dear friends as well as my job – but I long to be free to live as I ought.

I have heard the gospel and I do believe that Jesus died to take the full punishment for all my sins, including my addiction and I believe that He rose the third day, which broke the power of death in the lives of all who believe – so I am coming to you to ask You Lord to give me the abundant life that You have promised. I know that eternal life is now my portion but I pray that I may be free of my addiction in this life so that I may serve You as You deserve, I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Amen

Healing For My Long Time Illness

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for being with me through all the ups and downs of my life and for the many blessings that You have given me for which I praise and thank You.

Lord – You know the illness that I have been struggling with for a long time now and that there is little that seems to be able to be done by the medical profession - but Lord I believe that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and that You know every part of my body - and You know exactly why I have been ill for so long. Lord, I come to You now asking that You would work a full recovery in my body – whatever is causing this persistent problem - and I pray that You would, in Your mercy give me back the health and strength I need…

Lord if there is anything that is lacking in my diet or anything that is causing this ongoing problem within my body – I pray that You would show me so that it may be finally dealt with – Restore again my health and strength I pray and guide me along the path that You have planned for me, in Jesus name I pray,

Amen
