Heavenly Father, thank You that You have not hidden the truth from us but revealed it in Your Word. Thank You that I am part of that great cloud of Church-age witnesses to the truth of the glorious gospel of grace - which was started at Pentecost and which has spread to every nation and tribe, people and language. Thank You that I have been born again by the power of the Holy Spirit and baptised into the body of Christ, which had its beginning in that special room, on that first day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was sent to be the permanently, indwelling Helper for all Christians - Thank You in Jesus name AMEN.

“And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.”

Loving Father, thank you for Your Word and for Your understanding. Thank You that I have been baptised into that Body of Christ by Your Holy Spirit and that He now lives in me forever. What a mystery that You should take up permanent residence in my weak and frail body – but Father I praise Your name for all Your goodness and loving kindness to me and all that are Your children – the Body of Christ, in Whose name I pray. AMEN.

“For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for the Word of God and the truth that it contains. Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to indwell all that have trusted in Christ for Salvation and for the promise that He will guide us into all truth. Help us to be diligent students of Your Word with a teachable spirit and a desire for the truth. We thank You that Your promises to Israel still stand and that one day they will be settled in their land in peace and safety. Give their leaders the wisdom in these difficult days, when all the world seem to be turning their back on Your chosen people.. and hasten the day when the kingdom will at last be set up to Your praise and glory, this we ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the many promises and prophecies that You have graciously given to us in Your Word. Thank You for giving us such great understanding of the times in which we live and the blessed hope that is set before us. Keep us from attempting to look into the finer details of Your plans and purposes which have not been disclosed to us but which are fixed by Your own sovereign authority - and prevent us from distorting the truth of the glorious gospel of God in order to satisfy any fleshly curiosity. Help us to study the whole council of God so that we do not get hoodwinked by any extra-biblical teachings or unbiblical 'interpretation' of Your Word. This we ask in Jesus name. AMEN.

“And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.”

Loving Father, thank You for the hope of our resurrection and rapture knowing that the Lord Jesus is the firstborn from the dead – and because He lives we too will live, and that one day He is coming to take us to be with Himself as He returns in like manner as the disciples saw Him go into heaven - on that wondrous ascension morning. Thank You for this hope in my heart, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

We praise Your name, heavenly Father, for the sure promise that we have of Christ's return to take us to be with Himself when we meet Him in the air. Thank You that a day is coming when He will also return to the earth to claim His rightful position as King of kings and Lord of lords at the end of the 'great tribulation'. May we live each day of our life in a way that is pleasing to You - a life that points others to the Lord Jesus.. as the soon-coming Saviour of the world, with the fixed assurance that Your Word of prophecy stands fast forever. AMEN.

Loving Father help me to turn the eyes of my heart towards You in an attitude of persistent-prayer as did those first disciples of Christ. Thank You that I already have the indwelling Spirit of God to be with me and Who lives in me, to lead and guide in all the difficulties that I am facing. In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, I hand all my cares to You, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN

“These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.”
