Heavenly Father, how blessed I am to have found my rest in You and to live under Your sufficient grace. Lord, there are times when I have failed to live righteously and I confess that I have not trusted You as I ought. Keep me from falling back into the sin of worry and unbelief, like the people of Israel. Prevent me from trying to sort out my life in my own strength instead of trusting in Your Word. Thank You that You are MY God and that in You I have all that I need for life and righteousness - Help me to walk in Your ways and honour Your holy name, in Christ's name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that Your word is true and stands fast forever. Thank You that You have told us the end from the beginning and that we know that Christ’s victory on the cross and the full power of the resurrection will be realised in the promised kingdom of heaven on earth – when the earth will be filled with the glory of God as the water’s cover the sea. Give us the urgency to tell unsaved Jews and Gentiles alike the good news that Jesus has paid the price for the sin of the world, through His sacrificial death and glorious resurrection and I pray that You would use me to go and proclaim the good news of the gospel of grace to those You put in my path – while there is still time. This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the book of Joel, which bears witness of Your goodness and grace, to all, who will trust in Your word. Teach me the lessons that You would have me learn from Israel's history, and keep me from making the same mistakes. I pray that You would help me to make my outward life a demonstration of a changed, inner life, which trusts You implicitly, in thought, word, deed and motive. This I ask Jesus name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your many precious promises to Your people Israel and that despite their rejection of Christ as Messiah You have not rejected them. Thank You that in Your grace You gave Your Spirit at Pentecost to dwell in the heart of all who trust Christ as Saviour and thank You that this wonderful prophecy will one day be finally and fully fulfilled. But until that time.. use me I pray to tell out the good news of Christ - in Whose name, AMEN.
Thank You heavenly Father, for Your faithfulness to Your people Israel and also to Your Church, which is the body of Christ. Thank You that despite Israel's apostasy, You have not forsaken Your people Israel, but have promised that whoever calls on the name of the Lord Jesus will be saved. Thank You for Your mercy and grace, both in this Church age and in the coming time of Jacob's trouble. Praise Your holy name AMEN.
Thank You Father, for the precious promises You made to Your people Israel and those You have given to the Church - which is the body of Christ. Thank You that You are the immutable God, Whose promises to both Israel and the Church stand fast for ever and ever and Whose word of truth cannot change. Thank You for the many insights into the plans and purposes written in Joel's short prophecy and that the day is coming when Israel's enemies will be routed; their fortunes will be restored and Jesus will rule and reign as their Messiah-King, on the throne of His father David. Give us discernment and understanding as we read Your word and use me, as You will, to bring Your word to its completion in my life - this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
