Prayer for Joel

Choose Chapter

Heavenly Father, thank You that Your word is true and stands fast forever. Thank You that You have told us the end from the beginning and that we know that Christ’s victory on the cross and the full power of the resurrection will be realised in the promised kingdom of heaven on earth – when the earth will be filled with the glory of God as the water’s cover the sea. Give us the urgency to tell unsaved Jews and Gentiles alike the good news that Jesus has paid the price for the sin of the world, through His sacrificial death and glorious resurrection and I pray that You would use me to go and proclaim the good news of the gospel of grace to those You put in my path – while there is still time. This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;”
(Joel 2:1)

Heavenly Father, thank You for the book of Joel, which bears witness of Your goodness and grace, to all, who will trust in Your word. Teach me the lessons that You would have me learn from Israel's history, and keep me from making the same mistakes. I pray that You would help me to make my outward life a demonstration of a changed, inner life, which trusts You implicitly, in thought, word, deed and motive. This I ask Jesus name, AMEN.

“Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:”
(Joel 2:12)

Prayer For Rain In A Drought

Dear Lord, we are facing a sever drought and we plead with You to open the heavens and send rain on this dry and thirsty land. Lord we know that You are the one that sends the rain and You are the one that can withhold the rain, but we pray that You would look down in pity on our waterless land and send the rain to water the land, reviving the land and the people.

Lord we do not deserve You grace and mercy, for we have not loved and served You as we should – but You are long-suffering and of great goodness and You would send rivers of water over the vegetation and fill up the water-hold and well – for the earth is parched and we do not know what to do.

Lord for Your Holy Names sake we ask that You would send the rains in this land soon, for we have no hope but You – for You have promised to give rain upon the earth and send water on the fields – You have promised that the seasons will not fail and that the harvest will continue to provide their bounty – but without the life-giving water, we are going to have to face very severe consequences. In Your mercy send us rain in the dry and dusty land, we pray in Jesus name.

Amen

“Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.”
(Joel 2:23)

Prayer To Find The Root Of My Health Problem

Heavenly Father, I seem to have been hit with a number of ailments all at the same time, and the doctors do not seem to know why this has happened, or how to treat me. Lord, You know exactly what is wrong with my body and I ask that You would direct me toward the right treatment- not just to mask the conditions that have invaded my body, but to search out the root of the problem, and enable it to be cured, I pray.

Lord, I know that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and that You even know the number of hairs on my head. You knew me before I was born and scheduled every day of my life – so this illness is nothing unexpected to You. Heal me Lord I pray – in whatever way seems best to You.

Lord, show me what I ought to do, I pray - if I need to change my eating habits, eliminate something from my diet or do something I have not thought about, I ask that You would direct me, or prompt someone else give me some advice.

Lord I wait on You and pray that in Your time and in Your way You will not only restore my body to full health and strength – but that You would give me Your peace and serenity in my heart – knowing that in all things, I am safe in the arms of my Saviour, in Whose name I pray,

Amen.
“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.”
(Joel 2:25)

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your many precious promises to Your people Israel and that despite their rejection of Christ as Messiah You have not rejected them. Thank You that in Your grace You gave Your Spirit at Pentecost to dwell in the heart of all who trust Christ as Saviour and thank You that this wonderful prophecy will one day be finally and fully fulfilled. But until that time.. use me I pray to tell out the good news of Christ - in Whose name, AMEN.

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:”
(Joel 2:28)

Thank You heavenly Father, for Your faithfulness to Your people Israel and also to Your Church, which is the body of Christ. Thank You that despite Israel's apostasy, You have not forsaken Your people Israel, but have promised that whoever calls on the name of the Lord Jesus will be saved. Thank You for Your mercy and grace, both in this Church age and in the coming time of Jacob's trouble. Praise Your holy name AMEN.

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.”
(Joel 2:32)
