Heavenly Father, thank You for the life and ministry of Peter and all your apostles and prophets who penned the Scriptures for our learning. As I read and study Your Word, I pray that You would give me a teachable spirit and a desire to learn the truth of the gospel of Christ. I pray I would not read it with any unscriptural bias or learned prejudice, and I pray I would not accept any unbiblical interpretations. Guide me into all truth, and may I grow in grace and in a knowledge of my Lord and Saviour. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You know the end from the beginning and that You foreknew that I would trust in the Lord Jesus for my salvation. Thank You that You sought me out while I was dead in my sins and that Your Holy Spirit convicted me of sin, righteousness, judgement, and my need of Jesus. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Dear Heavenly Father, how I worship You for Your overflowing grace and abundant mercy. Thank You that through faith in the death and Resurrection of Jesus, You have brought me into Your family and set before me the living hope of heaven. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that by Your grace through faith in Christ, I have become a partaker of His divine nature. Thank You that when I first believed, I was positioned in Christ in heavenly places, having escaped the corruption of the world and being covered with His righteousness. Thank You for the Word of truth and the many precious promises it contains for me and all believers. May Your will for my life may be carried out to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You that I am kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation, ready for that wonderful day when I will see You, face to face. Help me to live my life in a way that honours Your holy name. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that I have been given a new birth and a living hope through the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. As I am being prepared for the coming glories of my heavenly home, help me to rejoice in my future hope despite the distresses of life’s various trials. May I keep a heavenly perspective, knowing that You have promised to keep me by Your mighty power. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for being with me in all my trials. What a blessing to realise that when I go through trials, the end result can be a stronger faith which is much more precious than gold. I know the refining process that I am going through is difficult, but I pray that when I have been tried in the fire, my faith would come forth as gold, to Your praise, and honour, and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, how I love You and how I love the Lord Jesus Who died to save me, rose again to give me His life, and Who is preparing a home for me in heaven. How my heart rejoices. I am filled with inexpressible joy when I think of all You have done for me. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that in Christ, I have all that I need for life and godliness. I pray that You would help me to keep the eyes of my heart looking away from the things of this world and firmly looking to Jesus. May I never become spiritually short-sighted and forget all that Christ has done for me, but become increasingly fruitful in the knowledge of my Saviour, Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You have seen fit to reveal to us all that we need for life and godliness in Christ Jesus, our Saviour. Give me wisdom and understanding in this increasingly evil world. May I be content with all that You have revealed in Your Word and not seek to find out any secret knowledge that You, in Your wisdom, have chosen to be kept hidden. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that in Your Word I have all that I need for life and godliness. Thank You that You have chosen to reveal to Your Church those things that You purposed to keep secret in times past but have revealed them to us through Your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank You that I do not need to go looking elsewhere for spiritual illumination or extra-biblical revelation. May I be kept from the deception that is sweeping Christendom today and keep my eyes firmly fixed on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith. In His name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You have revealed all that is needful for life and godliness in You precious Word. May I treasure the truths that are contained within the sacred pages, knowing that both the prophets of old and the holy angels of heaven desired to look into these things but were kept from fully understanding them. What an indescribable blessing that You would choose to reveal to Your Church the glorious riches of this mystery: "Which is Christ is you the hope of glory." Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I want to be secure in my confidence in Your Word. Help me to prepare my mind and heart for that blessed hope of being face to face with Jesus, the embodiment of truth and grace. May I put Jesus first in every compartment of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the words of wisdom in this epistle of Peter. Give me a greater insight into the way that You use problems and pain, trials and tribulations, to develop in me a faith that is precious to You. I pray that when my faith is tried in the furnace of affliction, it would come out as pure gold. Help me to embrace the difficulties of life with a sober and stable mind that is rooted and grounded on the Word of God. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Holy Father, I want to be holy as You are holy. There are times that I quench and grieve Your Spirit, when I live in the sphere of my old sin nature. Please help me to put to death the lusts of the flesh so that I may live a life that pleases You. May I love to be holy and set apart to do Your good will in my life, and may I live to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I want to be holy and have a life that is set apart unto You. I want to have a life that is honouring to You in thought, word, and deed. I know it is impossible to be holy in my own strength, especially when the temptations of the world, the flesh, and the devil surround me. Help me to take every thought captive to Christ and develop a mind that is circumspect, stable, and self-controlled. May my words and actions follow my mind that is set on You, by the power of the Holy Spirit and to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that in Christ I have been made Your child. Thank You for Your Word of truth and the godly instruction it contains on how to live to Your praise and glory. Keep me low at the Cross and broken in heart before You, in reverential fear and never-ending gratitude for the enormous price that was paid for my salvation at Calvary. Thank You in Jesus' precious name, AMEN.
Loving Father, there are no words to express my gratitude and thanks for the price You paid to redeem me from the empty life I inherited as a member of the human race. Thank You that by grace through faith, I have received eternal life. How I praise Your holy name. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I praise and thank You for the precious blood of Jesus Christ, my Kinsman-Redeemer and sacrifice for sin. Thank You that He set aside His glory to come to earth in the likeness of sinful man, in order to purchase me back from the slave-market of sin and death so that I might live with Him eternally. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You gave Your only begotten Son to be born as a baby into this fallen race of man so that by grace through faith in Him, we might be redeemed, forgiven, saved, sanctified, and made one with Him, in spirit and in truth, through time and into eternity. How incredible that this plan was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but manifest in the precious person of Jesus. In His name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, how I praise and glorify Your holy name that it is through faith in JESUS, that we are saved from the slave-market of sin. Thank You that You raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory and honour. Keep me ever mindful of the tremendous work that Christ did on the Cross, so that by faith in Him I am now bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh and remain secure in Him through time and into the eternal ages to come. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that in obedience to Your Word of truth I have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin, and have had my sin-sick soul cleansed by His blood and purified, through faith in Him. I pray that I would develop a sincere love for all my brothers and sisters in Christ. Give me a Christlike love, I pray. Develop in me a sacrificial love, so that I may fervently love others from the heart. I pray that I would grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus, and that He would increase and I would decrease until it is not I that live, but Christ that lives in me, and His love that flows through me. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing truth that I have been born again by the incorruptible Seed of the Word of God. Thank You for those people in my life that introduced me to the written Scriptures. And thank You that by grace through faith in Christ, I have been born into Your family and have an incorruptible salvation, together with an incorruptible inheritance. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that I have been called and chosen and that I have been born again into Your family. Thank You that I have an inheritance in Christ that cannot fade away. Open the eyes of those that are blinded to the truth of Your Word so that many may come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and life everlasting. Use me, I pray, as a witness to Your Word of truth and bring many more sons to glory in the days that lie ahead. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the lessons Your Word teaches and for its cleansing power, purifying effect, and spiritual nourishment which is so necessary in this time when the foundation of our faith is being attacked in all quarters. May I sincerely desire the pure milk of the Word so that I may grow in grace, mature in the faith, and become increasingly conformed into the image and likeness of the Lord Jesus. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, how I thank You for Your goodness and grace toward me and to all people. Thank You that I have been born again, united with Christ, have a living hope in Him, and an inheritance kept for me in heaven. Keep me, I pray, from all malice and evil speaking, hypocrisy, and ungodly attitudes. Give me a thirst for Your Word so that I may grow in grace and in a knowledge of my Saviour, Jesus Christ. In His name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I am amazed and deeply grateful to know that the Lord Jesus, Who is the Chief Cornerstone of the Church and the Precious Foundation Stone upon Whom my faith is founded, was chosen by You to be my Saviour. Thank You that He was willing to come to earth and be despised and rejected by men for my sake so that by faith in Him I might become a member of His Body and a living stone that is being built into a holy Temple for Your glory. Help me live my life in such a way that honours You. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father, how I thank You that I have been accepted in Christ. What a blessing to be a member of the holy priesthood and able to come boldly into Your presence to offer my sacrifice of praise to You and to humbly lay my petitions before Your throne of grace. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, what a privilege and joy to be a living stone that is being built on Christ, my God and Saviour. He is the Chief Cornerstone and Foundation Stone, and without Him nothing could be built. Thank You that as part of His Body, I am a member of the Church and part of His royal priesthood, which has been built up over centuries of time into the living Temple of God. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the many inspiring passages that encourage my heart and satisfy my soul when I reflect on the precious value I have in Christ. May my heart be filled with unfeigned love and deep affection for Jesus my Saviour, rejected by so many but Who is the chief Cornerstone and Bedrock on which my faith is founded. Praise His holy name forever, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for opening my understanding to the serious nature of the choices each of us has to make in life. Thank You that I have chosen to trust in Christ for salvation, and that there is no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus. Thank You that He is the Foundation Stone on which the Church is being built and the Rock upon which I stand. But Father, there are many who are disobedient to Your call to trust in Christ - in Whom are the words of eternal life. I pray that Your Holy Spirit would continue to convict many lost souls of their need of salvation, today, so that Christ does not remain a Rock of Offense that causes them to stumble, but becomes their eternal hope and joy. This I ask in Jesus' name and for His eternal glory, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that through faith in Christ, I am part of Your chosen generation. Enable me, in the power of the Holy Spirit and in the name of the Lord Jesus, to be a good and faithful witness to You in my earthly walk. May You be glorified and exulted in my life. May I sing forth Your eternal praises in all I say and do, from this day forward and forevermore. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and mercy, to both Israel and to the Church. None of us deserve Your grace and yet You reached down from heaven and lifted us up into heavenly places. Now, through faith in Him, Jews and Gentiles have become one in Christ. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father, I know that this world is not my home. Help me to be a faithful witness to You in body, soul, and spirit by resisting temptations of the flesh and the treats of the enemy. Help me to walk worthy before You all the days of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that we are not left in the dark but have been given clear teaching on the way we should behave toward sinner and saint alike in this fallen world as well as those in authority. I pray that I may live in a way that honours You. I pray that my life may become a clear testimony to all with whom I come in contact. I pray that Jesus has first place in my heart and that my life is lived as a sacrifice of praise for all that He has done for me. This I ask in His holy name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this truth. There is a big part of me that does not want to suffer but I thank You that Your grace is sufficient, no matter what unjustifiable suffering and persecution I may have to face. Thank You that in Christ I have all I need to endure suffering with godly patience. Help me to appropriate all that is mine in Christ Jesus my Lord and to translate this into my everyday life so that I am enabled to greatly rejoice in the God of my salvation - even in the midst of tremendous suffering and pain. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that Christ not only gave me the perfect example of how to live a godly life that is pleasing to You, but equipped me by making me a new creation in Christ, breaking the power of sin in my life, and by giving me His resurrected life within. Thank You that I have been called for a purpose. Help me to be willing to suffer for Christ Who loved me so much that He went to the Cross on my behalf. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that in the trials and difficulties of life, however great or small they may be, I may give them into Your hands. Help me to abide in Christ, to keep self nailed to the Cross, to submit to Your will, and entrust my life into Your hands. Help me not to try to justify myself, but to patiently endure all that I am called upon to face in this life so that Christ’s life may be manifest in me. May I do this for Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus died to pay the price for my sins so that I too may live a life that is dead to sin and alive to Christ. Thank You that Jesus took the full force of the wrath of God in His body on the tree so that I might die to those sins and live righteously in Christ Jesus. I pray in Jesus' precious name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that although I was dead in my sins, at enmity with You and going astray, You sought me out and found me and gathered me up into Your arms. Thank You that I am in relationship with You and have returned into fellowship with the good Shepherd of the sheep, Who is the Overseer of my soul. Keep me looking steadfastly to Jesus, and help me to reflect His loveliness in all my relationships, so that Christ may be seen in me, and You may be glorified in all I say and do. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful way that You ordained marriage and implemented the governance of the individual home with a pattern of loving order. May Christian husbands and wives be ready and willing to follow Scripture's clear instructions on marriage which is a picture of the beautiful relationship between Christ and His Bride, the Church. I pray for the many Christian women who are married to unsaved men. Give them Your grace to live holy unto You and may their conduct attract their husbands into a saving faith in the Lord Jesus. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Loving Father, let me not be swayed by the vanity of the world, but may I clothe myself in humility of heart and gentleness of spirit. May I reflect the beauty of the Lord Jesus in all I say and do, to His praise and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that I would let the hidden person of my heart produce the beautiful fruit of the Spirit which is so precious in Your sight. Prevent me from developing ostentatious behaviours that are so unseemly, and help me to seek after the imperishable qualities of a gentle and quiet spirit. I pray that Christian women everywhere would recognise the eternal value of growing in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus and pray that in my own marriage and relationships, I would honour You in spirit and in truth. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the lessons that can be learned from holy women and men of God. May I seek to live according to Your perfect plans and purposes with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, to Your eternal praise and everlasting glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wise instructions Peter gives on the role of husbands and wives in his extended passage on godly conduct within Christian marriages. I hold up Christian couples throughout the world and pray that both husbands and wives would seek to honour one another in their complimentary roles. May wives be ready and willing to submit to their husbands, just as Christ submitted his life to His Heavenly Father. May husbands fulfil their God-given order as the head of the family, loving their wives in the wholehearted and sacrificial way that Christ loved the Church and gave His life for her. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Lord, how I desire to apply this gentle spirit of compassion, humility, and love into my life so that I may be an example of a godly believer and give glory to Your holy name. Help me to apply this in my life. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this challenging verse. In my flesh when I am wronged, I want to lash out and return evil for evil. But help me to walk in spirit and truth and, by the power of the Holy Spirit, may I honestly and wholeheartedly return a blessing to the person who dealt evil to me. Thank You for the promise that by doing this, I will inherit a blessing. And thank You that Your grace is sufficient for all eventualities of life. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, it is sometimes so hard to refrain my tongue from speaking evil things. Thank You that doing these hard things is rewarded by You with blessings that may not be immediate, but which are so sweet and good when I receive them. I pray that all my words and my actions would be a real encouragement to others, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that in thought, word, and deed, I may strive to live godly in Christ Jesus to Your praise and glory. I pray that in Your grace and power, I may make every effort to finish the race that is set before me. I pray that, I would turn from evil, do good, and seek peace, all the days of my life. This I ask in Jesus’ name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that Your eyes are over those that are cleansed by the blood of the Lamb and that Your ears are ever open to our prayers. Have mercy on those who have not accepted Your gracious offer of salvation, and use me as a witness to Your goodness and grace. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that there is nothing in earth or heaven, visible or invisible, that can separate us from Your love - for those that are in Christ Jesus. I pray that I may be zealous to live as You have instructed and to earnestly seek after that which is good, to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I know that in this world I will have tribulation and troubles as a child of God. I pray that I would not be fearful but trust in You. I pray that these words of Jesus would sink deep into my heart in whatever situation I find myself in: "In the world you will have tribulation but take courage; I have overcome the world." In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that I have been redeemed by the blood of Christ. My desire is to be fully sanctified unto Him and to offer my body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God. Guard my heart and guide my speech, I pray. Give me wisdom to be able to give a defence for my trust in Christ and to give an answer for the blessed hope that I have in Him. And Lord, I pray that by the power of Your Holy Spirit, I would be able to answer everyone who asks me about my faith in Christ, in gentleness and reverence and always to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that Christ was willing to suffer in my place for my sins. Thank You that He was willing to lay down His life for me so that by His death He could bring me to God. Thank You that His work on the Cross is finished and that there is nothing that I need to do to be saved, but to believe on His name. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this truth that being baptised does not save us, but it is a wonderful outward expression of faith in Jesus and the answer of a good conscience toward God. Thank You that I have been identified with Christ’s death, burial, and Resurrection. Thank You that His death became my death, His burial became my burial, and that through Christ's Resurrection, I have a received a good conscience before God. May I walk daily in newness of life for Your honour and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful example of Christ Jesus my Lord Who came to earth to identify with my sin and suffered in the flesh on my account so that I might be saved by faith in His sacrificial work on the Cross. I pray that I may develop the same resolve to live holy unto the Lord, knowing that He has not only paid for my sin, but has also broken the power of sin in my life. Praise His holy name. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and the wonderful truth and wise instruction it contains. Thank You that as a new creation in Christ, I am an alien and stranger in a lost and dying world. I pray that I may live my life in a way that is honouring to You. Help me to resist the devil and abstain from all forms of worldly pursuits, evil desires, sensual passions, and carnal cravings. May my life be a living sacrifice that is holy and honouring unto the Lord and a witness of Your goodness and grace to others. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that I have been saved by grace through faith. I recognise that too much time has already been spent in doing activities that are not edifying or honouring to You. Help me to set aside all the things that hinder my spiritual growth and keep me from being enticed back into any ungodly activities. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. It is terrible to realise that those who have not accepted Your offer of salvation and trusted Christ for the forgiveness of sins, will one day stand before You to give a full account of themselves. Give me a heart for the lost, I pray, and fill me with compassion for those that malign and abuse me for Your sake. Help me to show the love of Jesus to those who persecute me and enable me to share the gospel of grace to everyone, knowing that Your blood was spilt for everyone for the remission of sins and life everlasting. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving me the understanding that only as I remain in Christ can I practice self-controlled godly conduct, and maintain fellowship with You, for it is only through His righteousness that I can approach Your throne of grace and pray effectively. Keep me I pray, looking to Jesus as I wait for His imminent return. Keep me sound in judgement, sober in spirit, and use me I pray, to share the good news of the glorious gospel with lost souls in need of salvation. I pray that Your will be done in my life, and that godly wisdom and understanding would be reflected in my prayers and praises. This I ask in Jesus' name, and for His greater glory, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unconditional and unrestricted forgiveness. Thank You that as far as the east is from the west, is the distance that my sins have been removed from me. Thank You for this truth, that love covers a multitude of sins. I pray that I would not misuse this verse and simply tolerate all sin, or wink at sin, but love as Christ loved me, loving and forgiving in grace and truth. I pray, that I may reflect Christlikeness in all my dealings with others, so that the glory goes to You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit and for the spiritual gifts that I have been given by Your goodness and grace. I pray that I may be diligent to use the gifts and graces that have been given to me for the benefit of the Body of Christ and for Your greater praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, there is a part of me that wants to have a nice, easy, trouble-free existence and yet I know that this life is a training ground to draw me closer to You and to conform me, day by day, into the likeness of Christ. May I not be surprised at the fiery ordeals that I am called upon to endure, but embrace them as Your gracious child training programme to make me more like Christ. Use me in this sin-sick world to comfort others with the same comfort that I receive from You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Thank You, Father, that I am part of the Mystical Body of Christ, which is the Church, and that I am in union with the Lord Jesus. Thank You that He understands all that I am facing in my life today and that I am a partaker in His sufferings. Help me to keep an eternal perspective ever in my sights, and I praise Your name for the blessed hope and glorious future that You have purposed for all Your people. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that Christ identified with me so that I can be identified with Him. If, by identifying with Him and lifting His name high I suffer, may I not be ashamed but count it as a sweet blessing. I want to know Him more, to know the power of His Resurrection, and to participate in His sufferings so that I may become more like Him in His death. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the important perspective Peter gives about suffering for righteousness' sake. May I rejoice in the blessing when I face problems and persecution because I am a Christian. But, if my un-Christlike behaviour and lifestyle causes me problems and suffering, may I be quick to repent and make right the wrongs I have done. I pray that I may eschew all evil works of darkness and honour His name in all I say and do, from this day forward. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Lord Jesus Christ and all that He has done for me. Thank You that in Him, I have eternal life and am secure in Your hands, no matter what I may have to suffer in this life. Thank You that by His blood, I have been fully and finally redeemed and forgiven of my sin. I pray that those who abuse me and cause me to suffer because of my faith in Jesus, may be convicted of their sin and come to a saving faith in Christ. Thank You that Your grace is sufficient for everything I may have to face. May my life bring honour to You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, it is a terrible thing to end this life without having trusted Christ as Redeemer and Lord. Thank You that He underwent Your fierce judgement of my sin in my place so that I might be saved. I pray for the multitudes that still have not trusted Christ for their salvation and that even today, many would put their faith in Christ and escape eternal separation from You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that by faith, I have been identified with the Lord Jesus Christ, and have become one of Your children. Father, I entrust my life into Your hands, knowing that for Christ's sake, I will be hated of all men. Thank You that You sent Christ into the world to go to the Cross, and to suffer on my account. Give me the grace to endure suffering for His name's sake, and may my life be a witness to Your goodness and grace, in a world that is lying in the grasp of the evil one. Into Your hands I commit my soul, and thank You, Father, that my citizenship is in heaven. But while I am on earth, may I walk in spirit and truth, and live a life that is pleasing to You. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for these instructions to church elders, to feed the flock of God with sound, biblical doctrine, and to take responsibility for the nurturing and encouragement of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Help each one of us to grow in grace and in a knowledge of You, and may all Your children live humbly and walk circumspectly before You, throughout our Christian life. Thank You, Father, that You are no respecter of persons and are ready to use any one of us who is willing to be used, and looking to Jesus as the Author and Finisher of our faith - even me. Give me opportunities to shepherd and nurture those that are weaker in the faith than I, and excite in me a desire to learn from elders and officials in the church, who are fulfilling their God-given role within the body of Christ. Give me a spirit of humility and grace to finish the race that is set before me, and may I do all to Your greater praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the faithful pastors and elders in our churches who humbly care for the people in their congregations, as they gently shepherd the flock of God in their charge. We pray for all those who have been called to be the under-shepherds of Your people, and pray that You would empower each one with the gifts and graces they need to minister to those You have placed in their charge. Keep them from developing an attitude of pride or superiority, and may they all rejoice with the saints in heaven, when they receive their crown of glory that will not pass away. Help each one to pattern their life on Christ, and may each one set a godly example to those in their care. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that I may be self-controlled, willing to serve, gentle in spirit, and humble of heart. Help me to carry out all that You have entrusted to me, not because I have to but because it is the desire of my heart to love and serve you with all my being. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, develop in me humility of heart and graciousness of spirit. Thank You for the example of Christ's humility. May I become more and more like Him in the days that lie ahead. I pray this in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I confess that for too long, I have tried to work out my own problems and carry my own cares in my own strength. Thank You that You care so much for me that I can cast all the burdens, hurts, disappointments, and worries that seem to be flooding my life today upon You, in the sure knowledge that you have promised to carry them. I admit I am weak, but I praise You that I can draw on Your amazing strength, today and in the days that lie ahead, because You care for me. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, keep me clear headed and watchful in these last days before Jesus returns. I know that Satan is prowling around seeking to destroy my witness and cause me to stumble. I pray that I may take this warning seriously and rely on You in all things so that I may not stumble and fall but stand fast in this evil day. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, help me to resist the devil and stand firm in the faith, through Christ Who is my life. I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ around the world who are going through the same types of trials and difficulties that I am facing and I thank You that You have given each one of us the sufficient strength to resist the devil in this evil day. May we all be enabled to stand fast on the promises of God our Saviour. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are the God of all grace. Thank You that Christ suffered once for all on the Cross for me, not only paying the price for my sins, but also breaking the power of sin and Satan in my life. Continue to perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish me, and may I never forget that You Who started a good work in me will continue until the day of Christ Jesus. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Praise be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! AMEN.
