Prayer for Isaiah

Choose Chapter

Heavenly Father, thank You for the book of Isaiah and the many truths within its pages. Thank You that You sent Jesus to save Your people from their sin and to save ME - and place me into Your heavenly family, by grace through faith in Christ Jesus my Saviour. Keep me from wandering away from the truth of Your word, and give me an understanding heart and a love for You, that grows with every passing day - This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, as I read through Your word I realise how quickly and easily a man of God or a woman of faith can become derailed, when they begin to follow the things of this world. Keep me low at the cross, broken before You and teach me the lessons You would have me learn from Your righteous dealings with Israel. Thank You, that in Your grace You still maintain a tiny remnant of believers and I pray that I too may be one that does not stray from the path of peace but stands firm on the Word of truth. This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for the way that You have used Israel as an example to us of the importance of purifying our heart and learning all that You want to teach us as we journey through life. I pray that I may shun evil and renounce those things that dishonour Your name and live godly in Christ Jesus - Who is my life and my Salvation - and in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

Heavenly Father, as I see the influence that pagan beliefs, idolatrous practices, worldly philosophies, women's lib. and other unbiblical practices, have on the Church today, I pray that You would stir up Christian leaders to stand firm on the Word of God and that the people of God would study to show themselves approved unto Him, so that we do not fall into the terrible trap into which Israel fell, when children oppressed the people and dictated their own rules... and when the sanctity of family life was overturned by worldly philosophies, pagan practices, and the same, ungodly worldview, which is flooding through this earth, today. Keep me low at the cross and broken before You, and may I live my life according to Your will and Your way - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN

As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.”

Prayer For Alcoholic Addiction Recovery

I confess that I have not only hurt other people, and especially those that are close to me – but I have offended You and ignored some of the warnings that I believe were directly or indirectly sent from You. Help me I pray to break free of this ungodly addiction and get on the road to recovery.

Forgive me Lord I pray me for I have sinned against You and ignored the clear teaching of Your Word to live soberly, righteously and in the fear of the Lord and to walk circumspectly before You, as a child of the light. But I come to You in humble submission to ask You to help me to get on the road to addiction recovery, for I know that You have promised to lift-up all who come to You out of the miry pit – even when we have foolishly dug it for ourselves.

Help me be set free from alcohol.. putting on the breastplate of righteousness, and grace, and for helmet – the hope of salvation in Christ , in Whose name I pray,

Amen

Heavenly Father, it must have been wonderful for Isaiah to see the Lord, high and lifted up, but what a solemn message he was given - that people would hear his words but reject his message. Lord it is human nature to expect people to respond positively to the glorious gospel of grace, and yet I see that many will hear the words of the gospel but not listen, nor understand because of the hardness of their hearts. Help me not to become discouraged when I try to share the gospel and am rebuffed or scorned. Help me to be faithful in the work You have given me to do and I pray that some would hear and respond with repentance and joy - for the honour of Your holy name. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, You alone are wise and good. Thank You for the truths that are contained in Your holy Word. Thank You that by Your grace You told the end from the beginning and sent Your Son to be born of a virgin and become the full and final atonement for our sin. Thank You that Jesus walked the earth as a Man, and understands the limitations of our humanity. Thank You that He helps us in our trials and temptations and we praise Your name that He is coming back one day, to finalise His authority over sin, the world and the devil - to Him be all the glory, world without end - AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful prophecies of Isaiah and the hope we all have in Christ. Thank You that the day is coming when Your people will be fully and finally regathered back to the land You promised to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and their seed forever. Foster in their hearts a desire to know the truth. Open the Scriptures to their understanding that they may see Jesus in the books of Moses, the prophetic writings of Your holy prophets and the Messianic Psalms of David and we pray for the day when the nation will acknowledge Jesus as Lord and be brought back to their land a second time. This we ask in Jesus name AMEN.

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.”

Prayers For Those That Are In Need

Dear God, I know that it is Your will to help those that are afflicted - to support the weak; to provide for the widows and orphans – and to help those that are in need.

Use my hands to be of service to those in need and use my voice to speak words of healing and encouragement to those that are afflicted and in distress.

Thank You for hearing my prayer,

Amen

For Families With An Alcoholic Father

Loving heavenly Father, You put us into families and set a father as the leader and role model for each family… but Lord there are many families that are being torn apart by a husband and father that has become addicted to alcohol.

Knowing the devastating nature of this disease, I pray that You would prompt each one to turn away from this evil habit to become the responsible husband and father that You desire each one to be.

Lord we know that there are many alcoholic husbands that abuse their wives both physically and emotionally and that many children are also placed in danger, due to abuse from an alcoholic father – and also Lord, that such drinking habits can often leave families with insufficient money to live on.

Protect all those that are vulnerable from all forms of abuse and convict such men of the responsibilities of being loving husbands and dependable fathers – and Lord we pray that they turn from their evil ways to turn to the Lord Jesus – knowing that only in You is true freedom found.

Thank You Father – I commit all families that are in this position into Your safe-keeping,

Amen

“Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me.”

I pray that I may be salt and light to those whom You place in my path - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

For A Dying Christian Friend in a Hospice

Loving Lord, I just want to lift up my dear friend to You, who has been such a comfort and strength to me for so many years – but who has at last been admitted to a hospice where she is to pass her final few weeks of life in dignity and respect - as her life drains from her.. Lord I know that I am going to miss her so much…

Be with her Lord, every moment of the day and night. Thank You Father that she is to be looked after in such a caring and understanding environment. Be with the staff who are to attend her as her life flows from her and Lord –I pray that she would be very aware of Your very presence with her, every moment of the day.

Lord I know that she is ready and longing to meet You face to face and I ask that You would keep her free from the pain and suffering that so often stalks the advancement of death – But praise God that the grave has lost its terrible sting and death has lost its victory, through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.. Praise Your holy name…

Lord I know that I am going to miss my dear friend – but my sadness has such a wonderful tinge of hope and joy, for I know that soon we will all be together in Your company – where we will be free from all sickness and sadness – and You will wipe away every tear from our eyes. Thank You Lord in Jesus name…

Amen

His blood was shed for me, and I thank You that His glory was revealed at His first coming, and that by faith in His sacrificial death and glorious resurrection, I have His Holy Spirit indwelling my body. Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness to Your people Israel, who for so long have been a nation living in unbelief and in rebellion to the truth of the gospel. Thank You for Your long-suffering mercy and the assurance that they will one day fulfil the work that You have called them to do - to be Your witnesses to a world that is lost in sin and to know and believe that You are the Lord. Thank You that in Your grace You called out of the Gentiles a people for Your name, to tell forth the good news of the gospel of grace...  until the day when Israel proclaims the gospel of the kingdom and acknowledges Jesus as their Messiah and Lord - in Whose name we pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You that despite man’s futility and foolishness, You have always made Yourself known to Your creation, and pleaded with men to turn to You for salvation and the forgiveness of sins. As the Day of the Lord’s fierce judgement draws ever closer, we pray that unsaved men and women will turn from their foolish ways and look to Jesus, Who alone has the words of eternal life. Thank You that You are a righteous God and a long-suffering Saviour. Thank You that You died for me and rose again for the forgiveness of sins and life everlasting – thank You in Jesus name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, the image of Christ in His humiliation as a man who had no exciting outward appearance or desirable human attributes to commend Him to the children of men, for whom He died.. stands in such stark contrast with His divine nature, His holy character, His sinless life; the sacrificial offering Himself - His amazing grace and eternal beauty. Thank You for the remnant of Israel that recognised Christ's first advent and left witness to His sacrificial death and glorious resurrection. I pray that many in Israel will have their blindness removed and we rejoice to know that the day is coming when in happy unison, the nation will recognise their Messiah - at His second advent. To Him be all praise and glory, AMEN

Heavenly Father, when I consider the enormous weight of my sin and the eternal consequences of all my transgressions, I stand amazed and in awe, that You should love me so much that You gave Your only begotten Son to bear all my grief and carry all my sorrow. I am staggered to realise that in order for me to be redeemed and returned into fellowship with the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ was smitten of God and afflicted out of love for me - to Him be all honour and glory, for ever and ever, AMEN.

Prayer for Personal Healing

Dear God, I know that my times are in Your hands and I also believe that You care about everything in my life - and are not surprised by anything that happens to any of Your children. I believe that You make all things work together, for the good of us that love You - and I believe that You care for each one of us with a prefect and holy love.

I come to You today because my health has been deteriorating with some ailment that has not been diagnosed -I am not sure what to do, but I know that You understand everything about me. I believe that You know exactly what I need to bring me back to full health and strength and I am trusting You in this time of illness in my life.

Please God, I ask for Your healing touch on my life – and pray that You would bring to my attention the treatment that is best suited for my condition. Please direct me in the way that I should go at this difficult time in my life, Thank You dear God,

Amen.

For America As A Nations - Who Has Lost Its Way

Loving Lord, I come to You to place the once great nation of United States of America at Your feet, knowing that our great country and its constitution was made for a moral and religious people and is wholly inadequate for any other form of government, and yet we have strayed so far from the principles and practices of our great founders – who drew up our constitution based on Your Word.

But Lord although this was once the land of the brave and the home of the free, sadly there is so much that is wrong with our country that I fear for its future. Lord as a people we have walked away from You and discredited Your holy name by the way that we have conducted ourselves over the past few years and there is no health in our land.

Look down in pity on our people and our land and protect us from those that seem determined on destroying our nation. Send Your Spirit I pray through the land of America and touch the hearts of all those that are called by Your name to plead on behalf our people. Convict those that are damaging our infrastructure and as a nation may we turn away from our wicked ways and return You to Your rightful position – in integrity and truth.

I ask this in Jesus name.

Amen

Thank You that You took the punishment that I deserved and did not open Your mouth to proclaim Your innocence - but endured the cross on my behalf - to Him be all praise and glory, AMEN.
