Praying through Isaiah 1:3

Heavenly Father, thank You for the book of Isaiah and the many truths within its pages. Thank You that You sent Jesus to save Your people from their sins. Thank You that You came to save me and place me into Your heavenly family, by grace through faith in Christ Jesus my Saviour. Keep me from wandering away from the truth of Your Word. Give me an understanding heart and a love for You that grows with every passing day. This I ask in Jesus’ name, AMEN.

Praying through Isaiah 1:9

Heavenly Father, as I read through Your Word, I realise how quickly and easily a man of God or a woman of faith can become derailed when they begin to follow the things of this world. Keep me low at the Cross, broken before You, and teach me the lessons You would have me learn from Your righteous dealings with Israel. Thank You that in Your grace, You still maintain a tiny remnant of believers that do not stray from the path of peace but stand firm on the Word of truth. I pray that I too may be counted among the remnant. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.”

Praying through Isaiah 1:18

Heavenly Father, thank You for the way that You have used Israel as an example of the importance of purifying our hearts and learning all that You want to teach us as we journey through life. I pray that I may shun evil, denounce those things that dishonour Your name, and live godly in Christ Jesus, Who is my life and my salvation, and in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

Praying through Isaiah 3:12

Heavenly Father, as I see the influence that pagan beliefs, idolatrous practices, worldly philosophies, women’s lib, and other unbiblical practices have on the Church today, I pray that You would stir up Christian leaders to stand firm on the Word of God. Please help the people of God to study to show themselves approved unto Him so that we do not fall into the terrible trap into which Israel fell, when children oppressed the people by dictating their own rules, and when the sanctity of family life was overturned by worldly philosophies and pagan practices. Lord, as I see the same ungodly worldview flooding the earth today, keep me low at the Cross and broken before You, and may I live my life according to Your will and Your way. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.”

Prayer For Alcoholic Addiction Recovery

Heavenly Father, I confess that I have not only hurt other people, and especially those that are close to me, but I have offended You and ignored some of the warnings that I believe were directly or indirectly sent from You. Help me I pray to break free of this ungodly addiction and get on the road to recovery.

Forgive me Lord, for I have sinned against You and ignored the clear teaching of Your Word to live soberly, righteously and in the fear of the Lord and to walk circumspectly before You, as a child of the light. But I come to You in humble submission to ask You to help me to get on the road to addiction recovery, for I know that You have promised to lift-up all who come to You out of the miry pit, even when we have foolishly dug it for ourselves.

Help me be set free from alcohol, putting on the breastplate of righteousness, and for the helmet of salvation in Christ, in Whose name I pray,

Amen.

“Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!”

Praying through Isaiah 6:1

Heavenly Father, what a great and magnificent God You are. Keep me looking away from the world to Jesus Who alone is my Protector and Provider, Who died in my place, rose again, and Who is now seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven. Hallelujah! In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Isaiah 6:3

Father God, the glory of Your Person and the perfection of Your character amazes me. May I lift my voice to You every day like the cherubim who sing around Your throne: "Holy, holy holy is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory." Praise Your holy name! In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.”

Praying through Isaiah 6:8

Heavenly Father, teach me more of Who You are and show me how flawed my understanding is of who I truly am and of all that Christ has done for me. Thank you for cleansing my lips and washing me clean in the blood of Jesus. Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit to live in me and for building me up, into the living Temple, with all who are saved by grace, through faith in Christ. In a world that has lost its way, I pray in Jesus' name, "Lord. Here am I, send me." AMEN.

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”

Praying through Isaiah 6:9

Heavenly Father, it must have been wonderful for Isaiah to see the Lord, high and lifted up, but what a solemn message he was given, that people would hear his words but reject his message. Lord, it is human nature to expect people to respond positively to the glorious gospel of grace, and yet I see that many will hear the words of the gospel but not listen or understand because of the hardness of their hearts. Help me not to become discouraged when I try to share the gospel and am rebuffed or scorned. Help me to be faithful in the work You have given me to do and I pray that some would hear and respond with repentance and joy, for the honour of Your holy name. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.”

Praying through Isaiah 7:14

Heavenly Father, You alone are wise and good. Thank You for the truths that are contained in Your holy Word and that by Your grace You told us the end from the beginning. Thank You that You sent Your Son to be born of a virgin and become the full and final atonement for my sin. Thank You that Jesus walked the earth as a Man and understands all the limitations of our humanity. I am so thankful that He fully understands my weaknesses, having been tempted in all things, yet without sin. Thank You for my precious Saviour Who helps me in my trials and temptations and Who is coming back one day to finalise His authority over sin, the world, and the devil. To Him be all the glory, world without end, AMEN.

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

Praying through Isaiah 9:2

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending the light of the glorious gospel of grace into my life, and for shining the light of Christ into my heart. Open my eyes more and more to see the Lord Jesus for Who He truly is. Help me to see more clearly what He has achieved in my life. To Him be all praise and glory forever. In the name of Jesus I pray, AMEN.

Praying through Isaiah 9:6

Loving Lord, no matter how many times I read of the wonder of Your incarnation as the Word made flesh, it fills me with wonder and praise. Lord, I worship You in the beauty of holiness, and I bow down before Your throne of grace in wonderment, for holy is Your name. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through Isaiah 11:11

Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful prophecies of Isaiah and the hope we all have in Christ. Thank You that the day is coming when Your people will be fully and finally regathered back to the land You promised to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their seed forever. Foster in their hearts a desire to know the truth. Open the Scriptures to their understanding, that they may see Jesus in the books of Moses, the prophetic writings of Your holy prophets, and the Messianic Psalms of David. I pray for the day when the nation will acknowledge Jesus as Lord and all Israel shall be saved. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.”

Praying through Isaiah 12:2

Thank You, Lord, for my wonderful salvation. Praise the Lord O my soul, for You are a great and mighty God. As I go into the world today as Your representative, give me increased boldness to speak the name of Jesus. May my life reflect Your grace and goodness, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through Isaiah 14:12

Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus is the one and only Bright Morning Star and that my life is hid with Christ in God. Thank You that nothing can pluck me out of His hands. Thank You that Satan is a defeated foe and that in Christ I have all that is needed to resist the devil and to stand firm in this evil day. I pray that the minds of many who have been deceived by Satan's evil lies and blinded to the truth of the glorious gospel of Christ, may come to see the truth that Jesus is the only Way to God, the only true Light of God, and that in Him is Life everlasting. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Prayers For Those That Are In Need

Dear God, I know that it is Your will to help those that are afflicted, to support the weak, to provide for the widows and orphans and to help those that are in need.

Use my hands to be of service to those in need, and use my voice to speak words of healing and encouragement to those that are afflicted and in distress. Thank You for hearing my prayer. In Jesus' name,

Amen.

I bless and praise You that Your promises to Israel are also 'yes' and 'amen' in Christ Jesus our Lord, to Whom be all praise and glory forever, AMEN.

Praying through Isaiah 26:9

Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You for the wonderful example of this little remnant of Israel, about whom Isaiah wrote. I pray that like them, my soul would long for You day and night and that You would guide me into all truth so that I may tell forth the glories of Your name - so that the world may know that You are the Lord. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, how precious to know that You have always had a remnant that is true to the gospel of God, despite many in Christendom following after false gods and unbiblical doctrines. For Families With An Alcoholic Father

Loving Heavenly Father, You put us into families and set a father as the leader and role model for each family, but Lord, there are many families that are being torn apart by a husband and father that has become addicted to alcohol.

Knowing the devastating nature of this disease, I pray that You would prompt each one to turn away from this evil habit to become the responsible husband and father that You desire each one to be.

Lord, we know that there are many alcoholic husbands that abuse their wives both physically and emotionally and that many children are also placed in danger due to abuse from an alcoholic father. And also Lord, we know that such drinking habits can often leave families with insufficient money to live on.

Protect all those that are vulnerable from all forms of abuse, and convict such men of the responsibilities of being loving husbands and dependable fathers. Lord, we pray that they turn from their evil ways to turn to the Lord Jesus, knowing that only in You is true freedom found.

Thank You Father. I commit all families that are in this position into Your safe-keeping. In Jesus' name,

Amen.

“Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me.”

Praying through Isaiah 28:5

Heavenly Father, thank You that Your plans and purposes will never fail and that nothing happens in our lives that is not known or permitted by You, for our eternal benefit and to Your greater praise and glory. Until that great day when Jesus comes in the clouds to rescue the Church from the wrath that is to be poured out on a Christ-rejecting, sinful world, I pray that I may be salt and light to those whom You place in my path. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Isaiah 28:15

Heavenly Father, I pray that as I read through Your Word, You would teach me the many lessons that need to be learned, chief of which is that I must not put my trust in the wisdom of man but in the Word of Truth, the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You that in Him, I have life, and hope, and an inheritance in heaven. Give me discernment to do that which is right in Your eyes and eschew all that is evil. Thank You that the day is coming when the curse of death will be removed forever and Jesus will put all enemies under His feet. I pray that I may never be swayed by the deceptive words of worldly men or lying politicians, but look to Jesus, moment by moment, and trust in Him alone. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

For A Dying Christian Friend In A Hospice

Loving Lord, I just want to lift up my dear friend to You, who has been such a comfort and strength to me for so many years, but who has at last been admitted to a hospice where she is to pass her final few weeks of life in dignity and respect, as her life drains from her. Lord, I know that I am going to miss her so much.

Be with her Lord, every moment of the day and night. Thank You Father, that she is to be looked after in such a caring and understanding environment. Be with the staff who are to attend her as her life flows from her and Lord, I pray that she would be very aware of Your very presence with her, every moment of the day.

Lord, I know that she is ready and longing to meet You face to face, and I ask that You would keep her free from the pain and suffering that so often stalks the advancement of death. But praise God that the grave has lost its terrible sting and death has lost its victory, through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise Your holy name!

Lord, I know that I am going to miss my dear friend, but my sadness has such a wonderful tinge of hope and joy, for I know that soon we will all be together in Your company, where we will be free from all sickness and sadness, and You will wipe away every tear from our eyes. Thank You Lord, in Jesus' name,

Amen.

Praying through Isaiah 40:3

Heavenly Father, thank You for the many prophets who proclaimed the coming of the Saviour, and thank You that by grace through faith I have believed their testimony and become part of the one new man in Christ. Help me to be a voice calling out in this wilderness of sin, proclaiming God's message of reconciliation to those that need a Saviour. Help me testify of the truth of God's Word - that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners through His sacrificial death and glorious resurrection - and that by faith in His name, lost sinners may be forgiven of their sin and declared righteous - to the glory of God. Praying through Isaiah 40:5

Heavenly Father, what an amazing plan of redemption that God the Son should set aside His eternal, heavenly glory, and be born into His own creation so that His sinless lifeblood which pulsed through His human veins, could be shed as the full and final payment for the sin of the whole world. Thank You that His glory was revealed at His first coming, and that by faith in His sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection, I have His Holy Spirit indwelling my body. Praise Your holy name that although He was rejected as Your anointed King at His first advent, the day is coming when, as Prince of Peace, He will return to earth to be crowed as King of Israel and Lord of the whole earth. Thank You that a day is coming when Israel will recognise the Lord Jesus as their King, when He returns in power and great glory to set up His eternal kingdom. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Prayers For Babies In Surgery

Heavenly Father we want to bring before You the little new-born lives that are having to go through invasive and often complicated surgery so early in their little lives. Be near to each baby that is facing surgery today and we pray that You would guide the hands of the surgeons and other staff that are involved with the surgery, and provide them with the wisdom and skill to perform the surgery without complications.

We also lift up the parents and wider families of tiny babies that are facing surgery today and pray that Your perfect peace would guard their hearts and minds as they face the difficult task of seeing their precious baby being prepared for surger, having to hand them over and wait for the duration of the operation.

Lord, into Your hands we place these parents and babies. In Jesus' name,

Amen.

Praying through Isaiah 41:10

Loving Father, I know that there are many times that fear has replaced faith in my heart, yet why should I fear when You have told me so many times to fear not? Thank You for Your promise to be with me always, to strengthen me, to be with me and to uphold me with Your righteous right hand, for which I thank You and bless Your holy name. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Thank You that He walked this earth before us and understands our weaknesses, our difficulties, and our disappointments. Praying through Isaiah 43:10

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness to Your people, Israel, who for so long have been a nation living in unbelief and in rebellion to the truth of the gospel. Thank You for Your long-suffering mercy and the assurance that they will one day fulfil the work that You have called them to do, to believe on You and to be Your witnesses to a world that is lost in sin. Thank You that in Your grace, You called out of the Gentiles a people for Your name, to tell forth the good news of the gospel of grace until the day when Israel proclaims the gospel of the kingdom and acknowledges Jesus as their Messiah and Lord. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Showers Of Blessings On My Country

Dear Lord, You have poured water on a dry and thirsty land. You have poured out rivers of living water into my heart and streams in the desert of my soul, and I praise and bless Your holy name.

Loving Lord, my country has forgotten You and has turned her back on You, Who are the only source of blessings. We have sown the bitter winds of wrath and are beginning to reap the whirlwind, for we have turned aside from the truth of the gospel and have tried to drink the brackish waters in the broken cisterns of our lives.

Look down in pity on my country, and may Your eyes search to and fro and seek out those that know and love the truth. And Father in Your grace and pity, pour out blessings on our land and on those that love You, for the sake of Your only beloved Son, who died to rescue us all.

Bless my land and bless my people and bless me I pray, in Jesus name,

Amen.

“For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:”

Prayer For A Baby Being Born

Dear Heavenly Father, what a joy the birth of a new little baby brings and we thank You for the safe delivery of this little life, and ask You to pour out Your special blessing upon them and the whole family.

Guard and protect this little one, we pray. Enfold them in Your love and grace, and we ask that in Your grace and mercy, that the light of Your love would shine into their little life and that one day they would come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.  In Jesus' name we pray,

Praying through Isaiah 53:2

Heavenly Father, the image of Christ in His humiliation as a Man Who had no exciting outward appearance or desirable human attributes to commend Him to the children of men for whom He died, stands in such stark contrast with His divine nature, His holy character, His sinless life, and the sacrificial offering of Himself. As I see Jesus as He truly is, I am awestruck by His amazing grace and eternal beauty. My beautiful Saviour, Jesus You are. I give You all my praise and glory, AMEN.

“For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.”

Praying through Isaiah 53:3

Heavenly Father, when I consider the enormous weight of my sin and the eternal consequences of all my transgressions, I stand amazed and in awe that You should love me so much that You gave Your only begotten Son to bear all my grief and carry all my sorrow. I am staggered to realise that in order for me to be redeemed and returned into fellowship with the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ was smitten of God and afflicted, out of love for me. To Him be all honour and glory, forever and ever, AMEN.

Praying through Isaiah 53:4

Heavenly Father, I praise and thank You that Christ was lifted up to die on the Cross to pay the price for my sin. I am as guilty of His death on the Cross as those that falsely accused Him and nailed Him there to die. I am equally to blame, and yet I praise and thank You that through faith in His sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection, I have been redeemed and forgiven of my sin. I praise You that His finished work was sufficient. Hallelujah! What a Saviour! Praise His holy name, AMEN.

Prayer For Personal Healing

Heavenly Father, I know that my times are in Your hands and I also believe that You care about everything in my life. In Your sovereignty, You are not surprised by anything that happens to any of Your children. I believe that You make all things work together for the good of us that love You. I believe that You care for each one of us with a perfect and holy love.

I come to You today because my health has been deteriorating with some ailment that has not been diagnosed. I am not sure what to do, but I know that You understand everything about me. I believe that You know exactly what I need to bring me back to full health and strength and I am trusting You in this time of illness in my life.

Please God, I ask for Your healing touch on my life, and pray that You would bring to my attention the treatment that is best suited for my condition. Please direct me in the way that I should go at this difficult time in my life. Thank You, Father, in Jesus' name I pray,

Amen.

For America As A Nation Who Has Lost Its Way

Loving Lord, I come to You to place the once great nation of United States of America at Your feet, knowing that our great country and it's constitution was made for a moral and religious people and is wholly inadequate for any other form of government, and yet we have strayed so far from the principles and practices of our great founders, who drew up our constitution based on Your Word.

But Lord, although this was once the land of the brave and the home of the free, sadly there is so much that is wrong with our country that I fear for its future. Lord, as a people we have walked away from You and discredited Your holy name by the way that we have conducted ourselves over the past few years and there is no health in our land.

Look down in pity on our people and our land, and protect us from those that seem determined on destroying our nation. Send Your Spirit I pray, through the land of America, and touch the hearts of all those that are called by Your name to plead on behalf our people. Convict those that are damaging our infrastructure and as a nation may we turn away from our wicked ways and return You to Your rightful position, in integrity and truth.

I ask this in Jesus' name,

Amen.

“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

Praying through Isaiah 53:7

Heavenly Father, thank You that Christ became the sacrificial Lamb on my account. I stand in awe that the eternal Son of God was born as the sinless Son of Man so that He could be my Kinsman-Redeemer. Thank You that Jesus took the punishment that I deserved and did not open His mouth to proclaim His innocence, but endured the Cross on my behalf. To Him be all praise and glory, AMEN.

Praise Your name forever and ever. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You that the precious invitation that was open to Israel, to come and drink of the waters of life freely and without cost, is still open to thirsty souls in this Church dispensation. How wonderful that this promise of salvation continues to be open to anyone who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, both Jew and Gentile, and is given freely to whosoever will come. Prayer For Healing After An Abortion

Loving Lord, I come to You and confess my sin of abortion, and ask that Your healing grace would touch my heart today. The remembrance of it is eating me inside and I need Your healing grace and loving forgiveness.

I cast this great burden onto You, knowing that You have promised to heal those that are broken-hearted and to bind up the inner wounds of those that are hurting.

I know that the consequences of our wrong choices can bring much pain, but I also know that You are a God Who has promised to forgive and heal all who come to You with a contrite heart and that You will remember our sins no more.

Forgive me Lord, heal my life. Create in me a clean heart I pray, and renew a right spirit within me. This I ask in Jesus' name,

Amen.

Keep me from being discouraged by all that is happening in my life and the wider world, and may I continue to trust You in all things - knowing that Your plans and purposes are perfect and that Your promises are all 'yes' and 'amen' in Christ Jesus our Lord, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O LORD? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?”

Praying through Isaiah 65:24

Heavenly Father, what a comfort and joy to me that You know and understand the deepest longings of my heart. Thank You that You know the end before the beginning, and hear and answer my prayers before the request forms in my heart or crosses my lips. Thank You for beautifying my requests and providing the answer that is best for me. Teach me to pray into Your will for my life, and align my heart's desires to Your perfect will. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”
(Isaiah 65:24)

Bedtime Prayer For Families

Dear Lord Jesus, it is time for us to get to bed. We thank You that You are with us all the time and throughout the hours of darkness. Thank You, that You never leave us and that You have promised to be with us throughout the night.

Give us all a good night rest we pray, and help us not to allow our thoughts to wander aimlessly through our minds so as to keep us awake, but may we settle down securely, knowing that sleep is a precious gift from You, so that we may be ready to do all the things that You have prepared for us to do tomorrow.

Forgive us for the wrong things we have done today, and thank You that Your love for us never fails and that Your mercies are new every morning. Thank You, that You died on the cross to pay the price us from our sins and save us, so that we can live together with You in heaven..

Thank You, that nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Help us all to rest securely in You, in the knowledge that we are Your children and You are our gracious God. This we ask in Jesus' name,

Amen.

“As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”
(Isaiah 66:13)
