Praying through Zechariah 1:2

Heavenly Father, what a warning to all Your children to listen to Your voice, obey Your Word, eschew evil, and walk in the way of truth. Thank You for the many lessons I can learn from the foolish mistakes that Israel made, when they refused to heed Your Word, obey Your instructions, and fell into pagan ways and spiritual apostasy. But even though they broke the covenant they made at Sinai, You remained faithful to all the conditional and unconditional promises You gave them. Thank You for the assurance that You will also keep Your promises to the Church, for You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. May I pay heed to Your voice, obey Your Word, walk by faith, and be guided by the indwelling Holy Spirit of truth, for Your greater praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“The LORD hath been sore displeased with your fathers.”

Praying through Zechariah 4:6

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the encouragement that I get from the Word of God which is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. Thank You that I am equipped to carry out Your work in my life, not through my own might, cleverness, or intelligence, but through Your Spirit Who lives in me. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”

Praying through Zechariah 9:9

Heavenly Father, I rejoice greatly for Jesus, my wonderful Saviour. Thank You that He was prepared, before the foundation of the world, to be slain for my sins and for the sins the whole world. Thank You that Your Word of truth wrote history in advance so that we would know that Jesus is the Son of God Who takes away the sin of the world. Thank You that one day the nation of Israel will once again shout out in tearful praise and joyful thanks, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.”

Praying through Zechariah 11:17

Heavenly Father, what a gracious Saviour and good Shepherd You are, to both Israel and to the Church. Thank You for this peep into the future and the knowledge that despite all the terrible things that are to take place during the time of Jacob's Trouble, You remain faithful to Your people, and will restore to them the inheritance that You promised to Abraham and his seed, forever. I pray that while it is still 'today', many people, both Jew and Gentile, would come to a saving knowledge of Christ, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.”

Praying through Zechariah 12:10

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your amazing grace. Thank You that You did not cut off Your people Israel, and thank You that Your promises are "Yes" and "Amen" in Jesus Christ for all who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You that You are a covenant-keeping God, and I praise You for Your goodness and grace towards the children of men. I pray for the nation of Israel, that many will come to know the Lord Jesus as their God and Messiah, and become part of the one new man in Christ. But I also pray that Your will be done, in the coming time of Jacob's trouble - that glorious day, when Your chosen people will look on the One Whom they pierced with nails and thorns and proclaim Jesus as Lord, and they cry out with one voice, "Blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord," in whose name I pray, AMEN.

“And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.”

Praying through Zechariah 13:6

Heavenly Father, thank You that You have written the end before the beginning so that we can understand what has been and what is going to happen when You return to save Your people, Israel, and set up Your eternal kingdom of heaven on earth. Thank You for the many Jewish men and women who have already recognised You as their Saviour and have become a member of the Church, which is Christ’s Body. I pray for those who will have to face the terrible time of Jacob’s Trouble and ask that "Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." Your will be done for the nation of Israel, and Your will be done in my life and the lives of all Your people. I pray that Your plans and purposes will be carried out for Your greater praise and glory. I ask this in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.”

Praying through Zechariah 14:1

Heavenly Father, as we see the stage being set for the end times events, I know that the Rapture of the Church is drawing ever closer... as is the great and terrible Day of the Lord. Father, I do thank You for my salvation and that I am not appointed to wrath, because Jesus took the punishment for me at the Cross, when Your fury and wrath was poured out on Him, for my sin. Lord, there are many that are not yet saved by grace through faith in Christ, who will be facing the wrath to come and eternal separation from You, if they do not turn to Him for the forgiveness of their sin. Use me in whatever way You will, to tell out the good news of the gospel of grace, before it is too late - this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.”

Praying through Zechariah 14:2

Heavenly Father, thank You for the mercy and grace You have shown to Adam’s fallen race and for Your wonderful plan of salvation through faith in the death, burial, and Resurrection of Your dear Son. I lift up the nation of Israel who are still blinded in part to the truth of the glorious gospel of grace, and yet in Your mercy, You have not cut off Your people but have promised to draw them back to Yourself, during the Time of Jacob's Trouble. Thank You that evil will be punished, and I pray that many would come to repentance, through faith in Christ. Thank You that the time is coming when the Body of Christ will accompany the Lord Jesus in the clouds of glory, when He comes to set up His eternal kingdom on earth. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.”

Praying through Zechariah 14:3

Heavenly Father, thank You that Your Word is trustworthy and true, and that Your promises, to both Israel and the Church, stand fast for ever and ever. Thank You that in Your goodness and grace, You purposed to save Your rebellious people and have set out Your battle plan, in the pages of Scripture. Thank You that despite their rebellion, You will not forsake Your people, Israel, and that a day is coming when salvation will come to that whole nation. Thank You also, for Your many precious promises to the Church. May I be a worthy witness to Your goodness and grace, and stand fast on the Word of truth. This I ask in Jesus' precious name, AMEN.

“Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.”

Praying through Zechariah 14:4

Loving Lord and Heavenly Father, I am filled with awe and wonder that You should tell us the end from the beginning through men like Zechariah, David, Paul, and other holy men of God. Thank You for the knowledge of Your soon return to take the Church to be with You before the Great Tribulation and thank You that You have promised to restore Your people Israel and redeem them from their sin, when they cry out to You, at the end of the Great Tribulation. Thank You that Jesus is coming back to set up His kingdom on earth and I pray for that wonderful day when He will set His feet back on the Mount of Olives and be crowned King of kings and Lord of lords. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.”

Praying through Zechariah 14:9

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. How I praise You, Lord, for loving me so much that You became a man so that by death, You would destroy death and give all who believe in You, eternal, abundant life. Draw many into Your kingdom today, for You alone are worthy of our praise and worship, forever and ever, AMEN.

“And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.”

Praying through Zechariah 14:16

Heavenly Father, thank You that You loved the world so much that You purposed to save Your people, both Jews and Gentiles, from their sins so that all who believe in You will not perish but enter into that glorious relationship when, as Immanuel, You will tabernacle forever with Your people. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.”
