Loving Father, as I see Your great wisdom reflected in Your wonderful creation, I want to praise You with my whole being. Thank you for the creative Word-of-God, WHO not only spoke the worlds into being from nothing but died for me, so that I could live – so that I could have life - everlasting life and life more abundantly. Open the eyes of foolish men who arrogantly refuse to recognise the truth and acknowledge as their Creator God and gracious Saviour... and thank You for all Your never-failing goodness, long-suffering mercy and amazing grace towards ME, this I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Healing Prayer For A Lonely Person

Oh Lord I am ill and feel frightened and alone as I have no one to care for me – I have no one who is really interested in me at all and I feel lost and alone and so vulnerable. And now Lord Jesus, I have come down with this sickness and I feel so ill – Lord, I ask You please to make me well again – and soon, and lift up my sagging spirit I pray.

Thank You that I can call on You in times of trouble or illness or loneliness and know that You are always there to hear and answer - to heal and comfort and help. Lord, I pray that You would help me to really apply this truth in my life – not just when I am poorly, but every day, I pray,

Amen

Thank You that those who trust in You will never be disappointed and that the reward You promise to all Your children is over and above all that we could ask or think. May we live as a faithful witness to Your goodness and grace and never compromise the gospel of Christ, in Whose name we pray, AMEN.

Dear Lord, thank You that I am justified by faith in Christ and have been covered in His righteousness. I pray that You work in my life a faith like that of Abraham, so that I do not stagger at Your promises, but believe Your word and trust in Your faithfulness, in Christ’s name I pray, AMEN.

Loving Father I recognise Your almighty power and great glory - for the heavens declare its truth and Christ proved it with outstretched arms on Calvary's cross. But You are also my great Provider for which I thank You. Your gracious provision is All-sufficient and I long to serve You faithfully and to live a blameless life before You, which is only possible as You provide the power through the Holy Spirit's work in me. Bring to fruitfulness the seed that You have planted in my heart. that I may live as You desire - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Prayer For the Future Spouse of My Grandchildren

Dear heavenly Father, thank You for the lives of each of my lovely grandchildren that You have so graciously brought into my life – and which give me such joy and pleasure - for which I praise and thank You.

Lord You have scheduled every day of their lives and I pray that as they grow up into adulthood You would continue to lead and guide - to instruct and to correct. Father I also pray that You would develop in each one a heavenly perspective and a true understanding of the Christian life and spiritual maturity so that they grow in grace and in a right relationship with You.

Bring the right spouse into the life of each of these dear grandchildren of mine I pray. In Your grace I pray that they be granted the husband or wife of Your choice, so that together they may become a threefold cord with You – which is not easily broken..

Thank You Lord so much for every one of my grandchildren…Into YOUR hands I commit each one and may they sense Your calling on their lives, so that they develop into mighty men and women who love You deeply and trust in You implicitly, in Jesus name I pray,

Amen -

“And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.”

Heavenly Father, what a great encouragement to know we can also enjoy the close, intimate fellowship Abraham enjoyed, once his faith was reckoned as righteousness. How precious to realise that he was a friend of God, and that the Lord came to visit him as he sat under the oaks of Mamre, in the heat of the day. But what a privilege is mine when I realise that I have permanent access to Your holy presence and can commune with You every moment of the day - through prayer and praise, thanksgiving and worship... and how I thank You that my body is the very temple of the Holy Spirit. May I come to an ever growing understanding of the incredible privilege of having the Spirit of Christ indwelling my mortal frame. Heighten in me an increasing awareness and reverence of You.. in the knowledge that You are my Friend, in Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,”

Heavenly Father thank You for the many lessons we learn through the life and prayers of saints like Abraham, who trusted You to deal righteously with all people on earth. Give me a heart of compassion to pray for those that are dead in their sins and for my brothers and sisters in Christ... especially those who may have lost their way in their spiritual walk and been lured into the carnality of this world-system - like Lot. Thank You that You are a compassionate God and a righteous Judge and that I can trust You to do what is right in every situation of life. Thank You Father and it is in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

Heavenly Father, I know we are called to live by faith and not by sight, signs, logic or intuition. I believe Your Word and do not want anything or anyone in my life, to take Your place. Father I want to offer You my life as a living sacrifice. I want to listen to Your voice and to obey all that I am called upon to do.. and I pray that in the power of the Holy Spirit, I may die to my own desires and live for Christ alone - This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of people like Abel, Noah, Job and Abraham, who believed Your word and their faith was credited to them as righteousness. Thank You that You are faithful to Your word, and that Your desire is for my faith to grow in You. Increase my trust in Your Word of truth, and may my life become a witness to Your never-failing faithfulness. May I continue to grow in grace and mature in the faith.. and may I count it all joy when I am called to suffer for righteousness sake, for Your greater glory - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Loving Father I thank You for Abraham’s example of trusting faith and faithful obedience and ask that whatever tests and trial I may have to face, that like him I will be quick to obey Your leading, knowing that Your eternal purposes are wider than my limited perspective, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

“And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for using this beautiful picture of Abraham and Isaac, as such an astonishing foreshadowing of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, after three days. Thank You that He paid the price for SIN.. for MY sin – for ALL sin, and thank You that Jesus gave His life willingly, as a freewill offering – that He was given by the Father and was ready to offer His life, for the love of such as me. Thank You in Jesus name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for painting so many pictures of Christ in the Old Testament and for lives like Abraham and Isaac, who so clearly represent element of what Father and Son together endured, to take away my sin. Thank You for giving Your life as the ransom price for my soul and I pray that I would increasingly come to an understanding of what it cost for You to pay for my sin. THANK YOU in Jesus name, AMEN

Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing life-story of Abraham, who demonstrated through his acts of faith and obedience, the importance of trusting You in all things - even when our physical senses, human logic and understanding denies the circumstances. Thank You that You use all things together, for the good of those that love You and that You are carrying out Your purposes in the lives of each of Your children, as You carry forward Your redemptive plan for the world. I pray You would open up my understanding more and more to the wonderful things within Your word  - this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Bedtime Prayer For Families

Dear Lord Jesus, it is time for us to get to bed and we thank You that You are with us all the time.. and throughout the hours of darkness. Thank You that You never leave us and that You have promised to be with us throughout the night-time.

Give us all a good night rest we pray, and help us not to allow our thoughts to wander aimlessly through our minds so as to keep us awake – but may we settle down securely, knowing that sleep is a precious gift from You – so that we may be ready to do all the things that You have prepared for us to do tomorrow.

Forgive us for the wrong things we have done today and thank You that Your love for us never fails and that Your mercies are new every morning. Thank You that You died on the cross to pay the price us from our sins and save us, so that we can live together with You in heaven..

Thank You that nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord – and help us all to rest securely in You.. in the knowledge that we are Your children and You are our gracious God. This we ask in Jesus name we pray,

Amen
