Praying through Genesis 3:1

Heavenly Father, how I praise You that in Your grace and wisdom, You chose to redeem the human race, by grace through faith in the death, burial, and Resurrection of Your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank you that through Your power, I can resist the schemes of the devil. Help me to trust implicitly in Your Word of truth and to depend on You in all things, for You are good and gracious, and Your loving-kindness endures from one generation to another. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”

Praying through Genesis 3:5

Heavenly Father, it grieves me to see how many people are being deceived by the same lie that caused Adam and Eve to rebel against You at the dawn of time, "Ye shall become like God." Open the eyes of people who are being deceived by apostates who are teaching these satanically inspired philosophies, and new age belief systems, which are based on human reasoning, and inspired by Satan. Help those that are being deceived to see that he not only tries to devour Your people as a roaring lion but also comes as an angel of light to deceive the nations. Expose the evil works of darkness, I pray, and bring many lost souls into Your kingdom. This I ask in Jesus' precious name, AMEN.

“For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”

Praying through Genesis 3:6

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word. I am so grateful for the lessons I can learn from the choices Adam and Eve made so long ago, when they chose to disobey Your Word. Thank You for this insight into the devastating fall of man and the ease with which we can be deceived and tempted to sin against You and forfeit Your many blessings. May I not only know the truth of Your Word, but trust You in all things so that I will not be seduced by the lies of the enemy, nor enticed to follow the lusts of my own sinful heart. Thank You, Father, for Your wonderful plan of redemption and for sending Jesus to be the last Adam and federal Head of a new creation through whom we are saved, by grace through faith. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”

Praying through Genesis 3:8

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your plan of salvation. Thank You that in Your compassion, You did not leave humanity to die in our sin but to rise to life immortal through faith in Christ Jesus, our atoning sacrifice. Thank You for Your amazing plan of redemption, that by the one righteous act of Christ Jesus our Lord, many will be declared righteous and be forgiven of sin, through faith in Him. Keep me low at the Cross and broken before You, and I pray that those who are still dead in their sin and at enmity with You, would be convicted of their sin and turn to Jesus for forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.”

Praying through Genesis 3:15

Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You for Your loving-kindness and gracious mercy towards mankind by procuring our salvation, despite our rebellious sinfulness. Thank You that by Jesus' death on Calvary's Cross, the head of the serpent was crushed and his power over all who trust in You has been rendered inoperative. Thank You that Christ was prepared to be bruised for our iniquity by taking the punishment upon Himself that we deserve. I am forever thankful for Your grace and mercy, and glorify Your holy name forever, AMEN.

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

Praying through Genesis 3:16

Heavenly Father, what a wake-up call to realise the severe consequences that sin has had on all our lives and relationships. I pray that I may give greater heed to the instructions given to men and women - husbands and wives and I pray that in Your grace, I would honour my own spouse and live my life in a way that honours You. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.”

Praying through Genesis 3:17

Heavenly Father, thank You that in Your grace You designed Your perfect plan of salvation, that all who are born of Adam into the original creation that was cursed, may be born-again into Your new creation where death is defeated and fellowship with You is restored for all who believe in the death, burial, and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You for being willing to send Your dearly beloved Son to be the propitiation for sin and that Jesus was willing to die on my account. Praise Your holy name that death is swallowed up in victory and I am restored into fellowship with You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;”

Praying through Genesis 3:21

Heavenly Father, thank You that the picture of Adam and Eve being covered in the skin of an innocent animal, reminds us that Christ shed His blood for our sake, so that we could be forgiven of our sin, covered in His perfect righteousness, and receive life everlasting. Thank You that You did not leave us to wallow in our sin, but set in motion Your perfect plan of redemption for whosoever believes in the atoning blood of Christ. Give me a greater understanding of the shocking effect of sin in the lives of individuals and the world at large, and thank You for Your unimaginable mercy, incalculable grace, infinite wisdom, and amazing kindness, in sending Jesus to be the offering for my sin. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.”
