Prayer for Titus

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and for calling me into Your family, through faith in Christ. Help me to take heed to all that You would teach me, and use me, I pray, to point the lost to Christ, and to encourage those that are saved by grace. Thank You that we have been equipped with knowledge of the truth, which is according to godliness - Thank You, in Christ name, AMEN.

Thank You for Your promise of eternal life to all who have trusted Christ as Saviour and thank You that Your word is true and Your promises stand fast for ever and ever, I pray that as Your ambassador on earth I may live as a worthy citizen of heaven to Your praise and glory, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You that I am a member of the body of Christ, and that we are all one in Him. Thank You for the joy of Christian fellowship and the opportunities we have of meeting together in our local gatherings. Raise up leaders like Titus, who stand firm on the authority of Scripture, and carry out their responsibilities by speaking the truth in love. Raise up elders who are able to identify and address incorrect teachings and are willing to deal with issues that compromised the truth of the gospel of God. Keep each one of us low at the cross and broken before You – this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, whether or not I am an elder in my local church, I pray that I may exhibit the same qualities and character.. of a godly man or woman, who is above reproach - so that my life may become a beacon of light, in a lost and darkened world - and give glory to my Father in heaven. This I ask in Jesus name. AMEN.

Heavenly Father, I want to be the sort of person that is pleasing in Your sight. Help me to examine myself to see if there are any areas within my own life and character that could be displeasing to You. Furnish the church fellowships of our nations with godly overseers, who will take responsibility for caring for the flock of God and use them and me in whatever way You may choose, to Your praise and glory, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

Lead us Lord in Your righteousness and may those that are appointed to the responsible position of church elder reflect the qualities of a godly leader, and may we individually seek to do that which is righteous in Your sight - and may we all earnestly contend for the faith so that we too may be perfect and complete, lacking in no quality that You would desire to see in each of Your children - this we ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, give me discernment I pray to recognise false teachings and ungodly doctrines that have distorted the Word of God and twisted the truth of the glorious gospel of grace in some way. I pray that I will not be deceived by legalists, teachers or ministries that give heed to worldly authorities, Jewish mysticism, the traditions and commands of men or monetary gain, in preference for the truth of the Word of God - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, I pray that my heart would be ever open to Your truth and that I am not influenced by any erroneous, legalistic lectures or prosperity teachings.. but stand fast in the faith once offered to the saints. Thank You that Christ's sacrifice is sufficient and that my salvation does not rest on what I have to do.. but on what Christ has done for me - on Calvary's cross, by shedding His blood for my sin and for rising again from the dead - so that by faith in Him I might have the forgiveness of sins and life everlasting. Thank You in Jesus name, AMEN.

You will use me to be a source of help and encouragement to those that are younger in years. Give me sound wisdom and understanding of Your word.. and the ability to be used by You to admonish and instruct others as You see fit, in humility and grace. This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Prayer and Praise During Advent

Dear heavenly Father, at this time of the year when the Church remembers the first coming of our Lord and Saviour into the world, we want to lift up our hearts and voices in prayer and praise to You, for sending the Lord Jesus Christ into the world to be our Saviour– so that through his blood we may be brought back into a right relationship with Yourself and receive the gift of eternal life – by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

At this time our thoughts are specially drawn in remembrance to the wonderful time, so long ago, when God in His grace sent the eternal Son of His love into the world to become the propitiation for our sins. How we rejoice when we recall that He set aside His glory and great majesty to take on the form of a man and be born into this world as a tiny baby, in such humble circumstances.

Lord in a world that is become more secular, I pray that the people of God who are called by Your name would take time to reflect with awe and wonder on this amazing truth and to prepare our hearts for the time when Jesus Christ will return again in power and great glory at His second Advent..

Purify our hearts we pray and sanctify our lives so they we may serve you in newness of life not only in this special season of Advent but every day of our lives – until You come to take us to be with You forever, in Jesus name we pray,

Amen
“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”

Heavenly Father, what glorious grace You have poured out on me and all who believe in Jesus Christ's finished word at Calvary. Thank You for my salvation. Thank You that I have been redeemed with the precious blood of Christ. Thank You that I have been imputed with His prefect righteousness and His abundant life. Thank You that I have been redeemed from sin and lawlessness and been baptised into the body of Christ, so that together we may become a people for His own possession - eager to be used by You ...until it is not I that live in this body but Christ Who lives in me, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and grace and the wonderful way that You have disclosed to us our roles and responsibilities.. not only in our Christian fellowships, but in the wider, secular world in which we live. May we live honourable lives, which display a godly integrity and Christian grace.. to all with whom we come in contact, and may we.. from this day forward, live a life that honours Your holy name - this we ask in Jesus name. AMEN

Heavenly Father, thank You for the truths that are contained in Your word and for the stark reminders of what I was before my salvation. Thank You that I have been saved by grace through faith and I pray that I may take to heart the warning and instructions that are given in this little letter to Titus. I pray that I may give due respect to those in authority and demonstrate the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God to a lost and dying world - so that I may see who I am in Christ and come to know Him as their Redeemer and Lord to Your honour and glory - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN

Heavenly Father, as I see the world being “divided-and-conquered” by wicked men, I pray that You would enable me to stand fast in this evil day, speak the truth and refuse to be manipulated by foolish controversies, genealogies, strife, doctrinal disputes and other areas of Christian compromise, knowing that they are unprofitable and worthless – and are used as a tool of the enemy, to hinder the glorious gospel. Make me an effective witness to Your greater praise and glory – this I pray in Jesus name AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for this wise advise from Paul.. to reject a factious man after a first and second warning. Lord I confess that too often I have wasted valuable time, trying appease a person, whose obvious aim is to cause division or acrimony within the body of Christ... because of some pet preoccupation with one small doctrinal issue, in pursuit of their cherished ideal or to justify their own unbiblical ideas. Help me to identify those that deliberately seek to cause division in the body of Christ, and give me the grace to remain silent, rather than being pulled into some unfruitful argument - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the wise instruction of Paul about division within the church, and the need to address those that are divisive. Keep me from becoming entrapped in any form of legalism, help me to recognise and avoid many of the heresies, unbiblical teachings and legalistic rituals that are infiltrating so many congregations today, and give Church elders the wisdom and discernment to address any division within the body of Christ, speedily, wisely and biblically, so that others may not be misled. This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.
