Prayer for Titus 3

Praying through Titus 3:1

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and grace and the wonderful way that You have disclosed to us our roles and responsibilities... not only in our Christian fellowships, but in the wider, secular world in which we live. May we live honourable lives which display a godly integrity and Christian grace to all with whom we come in contact, and may we, from this day forward, live a life that honours Your holy name. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,”

Praying through Titus 3:3

Heavenly Father, thank You for the truths that are contained in Your Word and for the stark reminder of what I was before my salvation. Thank You that I have been saved by grace through faith, and I pray that I may take to heart the warnings and instructions that are given in this little letter to Titus. I pray that I would give due respect to those who are in authority and demonstrate the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God to a lost and dying world so that they may come to know Him as their Redeemer and Lord, to Your honour and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.”

Praying through Titus 3:4

Thank You, Father, for Your Love towards me, and for the abundance of Your gift of Life, which is mine, simply through faith in the Person of the Lord Jesus, and His redemptive work on the Cross. As I contemplate Christ dying on the Cross in my place, I am overwhelmed with grateful thanks and heartfelt praise for all that He has done for me.  I pray that in the power of the Spirit of love, I may live my life in a way that is pleasing to You, so that through me, Your life-giving love may stream out to those that are lost and hurting. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,”

Praying through Titus 3:7

Loving Father, thank You that by Your grace and mercy, I am justified, made a new creation in Christ, and sealed with the promise of the Holy Spirit which has placed me in the position of becoming an heir of the hope of eternal life. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

Praying through Titus 3:9

Heavenly Father, as I see the world being 'divided-and-conquered' by wicked men, I pray that You would enable me to stand fast in this evil day. Help me to speak the truth and refuse to be manipulated by foolish controversies, genealogies, strife, doctrinal disputes, and other areas of Christian compromise. I know that these things are unprofitable and worthless and are used as a tool of the enemy to hinder the glorious gospel. Make me an effective witness to Your greater praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.”

Praying through Titus 3:10

Heavenly Father, thank You for this wise advice from Paul.. to reject a factious man after a first and second warning. Lord, I confess that I have sometimes wasted valuable time, trying to appease certain people, whose obvious aim is to cause division or acrimony within the body of Christ... because of some pet preoccupation with one small doctrinal issue, in pursuit of a cherished ideal or to justify their some nonbiblical ideas. Help me to identify those that deliberately seeking to cause division in the body of Christ, and give me the grace and wisdom to remain silent, rather than being pulled into some unfruitful argument - this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;”

Praying through Titus 3:11

Heavenly Father, thank You for the wise instruction of Paul about division within the church and the need to address those that are divisive. Keep me from becoming entrapped in any form of legalism, and help me to recognise and avoid many of the heresies, unbiblical teachings, and legalistic rituals, that are infiltrating so many congregations today. Give church elders the wisdom and discernment to address any division within the Body of Christ, speedily, wisely, and biblically, so that others may not be misled. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.”
