Heavenly Father, thank You for the lovely example of Paul and Timothy, who were bond-servants of Christ and who used the gifts and grace with which they were endowed, to further the good news of the gospel of grace for the benefit of the whole Church. Develop in me the heart of a servant that is ready and willing to think of the other before myself. Use whatever gifts and graces I have, to forward the gospel in my little corner of the world. May I die to self and live for Christ for Your honour and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Thank You, Father, for Your Church, which is the body of Christ and the family of God into which I have been born-again. As I lift up the pressing needs and requests of my brothers and sisters in Christ, may my prayers be bathed in love and grace, forgiveness and faith, care and concern. And may I always remember to beautify my prayers with joyful thanks and grateful praise, in Christ’s name I pray, AMEN.
Thank You Father that in Christ I am a fellow-worker with other members of Your Body. Help me to lift up others in prayer and praise and to faithfully carry out my part as a member of Your body, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Dear Lord, thank You that You began this amazing work of grace in the soul of each believer. You knew each one of us before we were formed in our mother's womb, and You scheduled each day of our lives. In Your grace and mercy, You will perfect and complete the good work that You began, to our eternal benefit, and to Your eternal praise. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, in a world where the truth of the gospel is despised by the masses and the grace of God has been rejected in this humanistic society, help us.. like Paul, to keep our brothers and sisters in remembrance, and to lift them up prayer and thanksgiving, knowing that we are all one in Christ, and partakers of the glorious gospel of grace, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN
Heavenly Father, I pray that I may so grow in grace and in a knowledge of my Saviour, Jesus Christ that His supernatural love may flow into my heart so that in the power of the Holy Spirit I to may love others as Christ loved me - and be able to say with Paul:- as God is my witness, I yearn for my brothers and sisters in Christ with all the affection of Christ Jesus, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the privilege of prayer and for placing me in Your family as Your child. How blessed I am to be a member of the body of Christ, and I thank You for the example that Paul the apostle set, as he lifted up the body of Christ in prayer. I pray also for my brothers and sisters in Christ, that their love may increase and multiply and that they too grow in grace and in a knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. In His name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that I may set aside my own self life and live in true fellowship of the gospel with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Help me to discover that inner holy joy that comes from holding all the saints of God in my loving thoughts and lifting them up in prayer within my heart. May my love for all believers in Christ overspill into earnest prayer for them all - that together we may learn to approve that which is good and excellent, so that in sincerity and truth we may grow in grace and live blamelessly before You, until the return of Christ, when we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. This I ask in Jesus precious name, AMEN.
Dear Lord, thank you for imputing me with Christ's righteousness as a free gift of grace. I now offer myself to You and pray that in the power of the Spirit, I would be filled with the fruit of righteousness for the glory of Your name. Use me as You will I pray, so that throughout my life the fruit of Christ's righteousness will produce much fruit in me, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, how I thank You that You are my God and that no matter what situation I find myself in and whatever problems I may be called upon to face.. it can be used by You for the furtherance of the gospel of grace. Help me to be joyful in my hope in Christ, knowing that You can use every circumstance of my life for the greater progress of the gospel. Help me to be persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer and learn to say: Thy will.. not mine be done, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that I may become so one with my Saviour that I learn to entrust every situation into Your hands - (no matter how difficult or distressing it may be), knowing that all things in life only serve to advacne the gospel of Christ to Your praise and glory. I pray also that I may learn to rejoice in all things, knowing that there is nothing that can touch my life that You cannot use to further the good news of the gospel of grace to a dying world in need of a Saviour - this I ask in Jesus precious name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful witness we have in Paul and for the many instances where You took simple people; absurd equipment and seemingly inappropriate circumstances to forward Your plans and purposes. Fulfil Your will in my life I pray.. and may I be a willing witness in whatever circumstances I may find myself - this I ask in Jesus name. AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the work that You have called me to do in this corner of Your vineyard. May I rejoice to see the message of Salvation being spread to lost souls and not be downcast by those whose motive may be rooted in envy or bitterness. Rather I pray that I may be flooded with Your joy that the gospel is being proclaimed.. and encourage others to rejoice in the Lord always.. at the wonderful way that so many are hearing the good news of the gospel of Salvation - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, we pray that the glorious gospel of grace, may be spread abroad, despite the evil attempts of the enemy to disrupt our ministry and the spread of the gospel. May we never forget that You are in control, and that You will use every eventuality in our lives, whether good or ill, for Your greater glory. Keep me from developing any petty differences with other ministries, even when they are discourteous towards me - May the love of Christ shine forth in my life - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that I would learn all that You would teach me through these two contrasting groups of Christians. I ask that I would develop a gracious, caring, godly attitude towards ALL my brothers and sisters in Christ. Keep me from developing any unrighteous behaviour or adopting a carnal attitude towards believers, whose calling appears to be of greater significance than my own. Thank You for the work that You have given ME to do. Keep my motive towards others pure, and may I do all to the glory of God – this I ask in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that I am part of the body of Christ and for the work that You have called me to do. Help me to rejoice over ministry of others that are sharing the truth of the gospel of Christ, even when their motives are ungodly or when it conflicts with my own cultural differences or churchmanship, and I pray that wherever You place me, I will be content to finish the work You have called me to do and to rejoice in the work that you have called others to do.. in spirit and truth, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I want to learn the lesson that all things that happens in my life will be used by You.. to Your praise and glory. Help me to keep my eyes off my immediate circumstances and to fix my eyes on Jesus, knowing that deliverance will always come in Your timing and in Your way. Teach me also that the value of prayers and intercessions for others.. is a tool that You will use to increase my faith; forward Your kingdom and draw me ever closer to Jesus Christ - in Whose name I pray, AMEN
Father, how I praise Your holy name for all Your loving kindness to me and all Your children. Give me boldness to be a faithful bond-servant all the days of my life for my earnest expectation and hope is that in nothing I shall be ashamed but rather honour You in every area of my life - this I pray in Jesus name, AMEN.
Loving Father, thank You that I am Your child. May Your will be done in my life and may I live in a way pleasing to You. Thank You that my times are in Your hands, and I pray that I may live for Christ every day of my life, knowing that to die in Him is gain. Enable me to finish the work that You have prepared for me to do, and keep me through all life's difficulties, knowing that Your grace is sufficient. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, as I look at the apostle Paul I can see Your guiding hand in every situation of my life. I pray that I may live a fruitful life that brings forth thirty, sixty or even a hundred-fold spiritual fruit for Your praise and glory.. and whether I life or die, I thank You Father that my life is in Your hands and that Your grace is sufficient - knowing that my light affliction, which are but for a moment, are working in me an absolutely, incomparable, eternal weight of glory. Praise Your holy name for ever and ever, AMEN.
Loving Father, I long to be with Jesus and I long to live for Jesus. Enable me to live a life that is honouring to You. And I pray that I may so set my heart on You, that the things of the world have no attraction for me, as my eyes remain fixed firmly on You. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You for the teachings of Paul that give us so much encouragement and comfort. Thank You for his example of a man who cared for the spiritual well-being of others before his own desires. Thank You for all the saints who have been instrumental in telling me about Jesus, encouraging me in my spiritual growth, and placing my needs above their own. I pray that I may show the same grace to my brothers and sisters in Christ, and in all things to joyfully say, "THY will Lord Jesus, not mine be done, for Your glory and for the well-being of others." This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, what an example the apostle Paul is - of a man whose driving passion was to exalt Christ in all he said and did, to minister to his brothers and sisters in Christ, and to share the gospel of grace with the lost. I pray that I may have that same holy mindset so that whether I live or die, my dear desire is to exalt the Lord Jesus in my life, to conduct myself in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, and to stand firm with my Christian brothers and sisters. May I so grow in grace and in a knowledge of my Lord and Saviour that I may say with Paul - for me to live is Christ and to die is gain. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, help me to live a life that is worthy of You. May my conduct and behaviour be uncompromising, whether I am alone or in the company of others.. and may the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing to You. I pray that I may stand firm in the truth of the glorious gospel of grace and strive side by side with my brothers and sisters in Christ for the faith of the glorious gospel of Christ - Who alone is worthy of our praise and worship, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, it is a sobering thought to know that those who reject the glorious gospel of Christ, bring judgement down on their own heads, and those that wilfully oppose Your purpose and plan, are under Your eternal condemnation because they have not trusted in the One Person, Who alone has power over death, and in Whom are the words of eternal life. Use me as a witness that points others to Christ, and I pray that I may decrease so that He may increase, until it is not I that live, but Christ that lives in me. This I ask in His precious name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You that I have been called out of darkness into Your glorious light, by faith in Christ's finished work on Calvary, which alone paid for my sins. But thank You that as part of Christ's Body I am given the privilege of suffering for Your sake, as I travel through a world that is hostile to Your grace and shows contempt for the precious sacrifice of Your dearly beloved Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. May I rejoice in the trials I am called upon to face in this fleeting life, knowing that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory, which will be one day be revealed in me. Praise His holy name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for all that I have received in Christ. Thank You for Your love and the consolation that it brings. Thank You for Your grace and Your compassion and the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Thank you that I am accepted in Christ and part of that heavenly company that has received life eternal by faith in Christ. I pray that together with my brothers and sisters in Christ we may live in spiritual unity and godly harmony - being of one mind; maintaining the same love; united in spirit and intent on one purpose - which is to be increasingly transformed into the image and likeness of Christ - to His praise and glory AMEN.
Loving Father, help me I pray be united together to my brothers and sisters in Christ in love. Give me I pray a humility of heart and transform my mind into the mind of Christ so that I may think the thoughts that You would have me think, so that I may be a channel of Your love to others, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Father, it is my desire to do nothing out of selfish motives or ungodly incentives, but rather I pray that I may in humility of heart, value others above myself, to Your praise and glory. Help me to value the needs and concerns of another more than my own and keep me humble in heart and low at the cross - in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, help me to recognise and respond to the needs or others.. willingly, cheerfully and with humility of heart and gentleness of spirit. This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, how wonderful it is to know that I am Your child and part of the body of Christ. What a glorious truth to realise that I am a new creation in Christ and have the Holy Spirit of God living in my heart. Help me to live in complete dependence on You and in godly unity with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Keep me from contentions and strife and help me to consider the needs of others before my own. And Lord I pray that the mind that was in Christ Jesus may dwell in me richly so that I may act justly; love mercy and to walk humbly before You all the days of my life - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus was prepared to set aside His eternal position in heavenly glory to come to earth to die on the cross - so that by faith in Him I might be redeemed, forgiven and restored into eternal fellowship with You. Thank You in Jesus name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, the truth of Christ's incarnation is wonderful and full of glory.. that Christ should set aside His glory and leave His position in heaven to come to earth as a bondservant, and to die on the cross for the sin of fallen humanity. Thank You for opening up my understanding to His sacrificial death and glorious resurrection and that in HIM I have life - to Whom be all praise and glory, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, the reality of Who the Lord Jesus Christ truly is and the realisation of what He gave up to become a man who humbled Himself to the point of death - even death on a cross for my sake is staggering.. Thank You for Your amazing grace and thank You for Your amazing love. I pray that I may humble myself under Your mighty hand and learn to say in whatever situation I find myself - Thy will not mine be done - to Your praise and glory, AMEN.
Thank You, Father, that all I need can be found in Jesus. I pray that I may decrease, and He may increase, in all I think and say and do, until Christ is formed in me, to Your praise and glory. Thank You that Christ is highly exalted and has been given the Name that is above every name. This I pray in the lovely name of JESUS - Son of God and Son of Man - AMEN.
Loving Father thank You for Jesus – my Saviour and King- my Lord and my God. Who alone is worthy to receive all honour and praise. I pray that I draw ever closer to Him and that I may decrease, and He increase until Christ is seen in me, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You have made Yourself known to us through Your creation, our God-given consciences and the inspired Scriptures. Use us we pray in these end times to share the good news of Christ so that many may hear and believe that Jesus Christ is both Lord and Saviour, to the glory of God the Father - in Jesus name we pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for all that Christ has done for me. I pray that in the power of the Holy Spirit I may work out my own salvation in reverential fear, by living my life to Your praise and glory.. by trusting You in all the difficulties and dangers of life and by relying on You in all circumstances of life. And I pray that by abiding in Christ and He in me, I may produce fruit, more fruit - much fruit in the power of the Holy Spirit - to Your praise and glory, in Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Help me Lord to submit to Your Spirit so that I may carry out the good works that You have prepared for me to do in the only way that pleases You, which is Christ in me, the hope of glory, AMEN.
Loving Father, I confess that my sin nature is prone to murmurings and disputing, which I recognise displays unbelief in You, and pride in myself. Help me to take every thought captive as I live in this world and enable me to cast ALL my cares upon You, knowing that You care for me, this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, how we love and praise You for Your goodness and faithfulness to Your children. I thank You that in Your grace You use everything in life together for my good.. and to bless others. I pray that in all I say and do, that Christ may be seen in me.. so that I may prove myself to be blameless and innocent in the midst of this crooked and perverse generation. I pray that in Your grace and power I may shine forth as a light in the world - knowing that I am in Christ and He is in me - to Your praise and glory, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Word of God and the truth that it contains... I pray that I may hold fast to the word of life and appear as a light in the midst of a crooked and perverse world so that my life may give honour to the Lord, Who died for me and rose again to give me His eternal life. Bless all my brothers and sisters in Christ and I pray that we may all grow in grace together, as we press toward the goal for the upward call in Jesus Christ our Lord - in Whose name we pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father thank You for the example of Paul, who poured his life out as a drink offering over the faith of these self-sacrificing saints in Philippi. May we live our lives as a living sacrifice and be prepared to suffer for the sake of Christ, no matter what the cost - for the joy of knowing that we do Your will - to Your praise and glory, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Word of truth and the wisdom it contains. Thank You for examples of godly men and women in both the Scriptures and in my own life, who have been such good examples of Christian living. Help me to rejoice in the things that I am called upon to suffer for Christ and to embrace them as an opportunity to be poured out as a living sacrifice.. holy and acceptable, to Your honour and glory - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, may my life be one that exhibits the qualities, character, and fruit of the Spirit that You desire from all Your children. Give me a Christ-like compassion for others so that my life may be poured out as a drink offering of sacrifice and service to Your praise and glory. Give me quiet disposition and a peaceable spirit whose singular desire is to do Your will. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing insights that we can glean from the epistles of Paul and from those that accompanied him on his various missionary journeys. Thank You for dedicated ministers like Timothy, who faithfully taught the Scriptures and whose lives have become an example of godly living to us all. Help me to live my life in a way that honours Your name, and use me, I pray, to be an instrument of encouragement and joy to others - looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the examples of Paul, Timothy and Epaphroditus whose lives were spent in self-sacrificial service to others.. for the glory of God. I pray that all I do may be done for the benefit of others and to the glory of God - until Christ is seen in me, to His praise and glory, AMEN.
Loving Father, thank You for Your grace and love towards me and to all those that are Your children. May I rejoice greatly in You for You are my hope and my joy and my everlasting hope, Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You have given us the Bible to teach us how to live in this Church dispensation. Thank You for the many lessons that I can learn from both the Old and New Testament. May I become increasingly vigilant in my Christian walk and rightly divide the Word of God so that I am not taken in by any deceptive teachings. May I hold fast to that which is good and be truly circumcised in heart and soul, so that I may love You with every fibre of my being - to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that I am not required to jump through various Jewish hoops to reach You, but have been saved by grace through faith in Christ alone, and together with believing Jews – the true Israel of God, we are all one in Christ, members of His body and joint heirs with our God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, in Whose name we pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father there is no greater privilege and joy than to gain Christ and to be found in Him. May I always remember that there is no lasting value and importance in the things that are so esteemed by the world in comparison with having Jesus as my portion and living for Him. Thank You that He died for me.. so that by grace through faith in Christ I am now a child of God and have been given an eternal inheritance in Him. Help me to say without hesitation that whatever things there are in my life that I gained - I counted them all as loss for the sake of Christ Jesus my Lord, AMEN
Heavenly Father, I realise through Paul's vehement denouncement of legalism and religiosity, that fleshly works are unacceptable to You and that confidence in the flesh is a denial of Christ's finished work on the Cross. Thank You that faith in His finished work on Calvary is sufficient to pay the price for my sin. Help me not to put confidence in my own fleshly works but live by faith in the Son of Man who loves me and gave His life for me. Thank You that His sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection is sufficient for salvation. Father, there are many who have been taught that confidence in the flesh and works of the law are required for salvation. Open their eyes and reveal the truth that Christ's work is sufficient - through time and into eternity. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Father God, thank You for Christ Jesus. I thank You for the many benefits that you have bestowed on me in this life – but I pray that nothing will ever eclipse my position in Christ and pray that like Paul – whatever gain I have I may count as loss for the sake of Christ Jesus my Lord, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that my desire to know Christ may continue to grow and expand until like Paul I am able to consider that the loss of those things that I value and hold dear in life, as rubbish to me, in order that I may gain Christ, in Whose name I plead, AMEN.
Thank You Father for Jesus. Thank You Father that although I have no righteousness of my own, yet You sent Christ to pay the price for my sins, so that by believing on Him I might be clothed in His righteousness forever – praise His holy name, AMEN.
Father I long to know Christ more and to know the power of His resurrected life in me. I pray that I may partake of all the sufferings in my life in obedient submission to Your Spirit and that day by day I may be increasingly conformed into the image and likeness of the Lord Jesus, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, I pray that in thought, word, and deed, I may strive to live godly in Christ Jesus to Your praise and glory. I pray that in Your grace and power I may make every effort to finish the race that is set before me. I pray that like Paul, I may strive to die to self and my own personal desires and live for Christ as I press towards the goal of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus my Saviour, to His praise and glory. This I ask in His name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You have established the path that You want me to take. I pray that in the power of the Holy Spirit I my press on to the goal of my calling and lay hold of all that You have purposed for me to do - to Your praise and glory - in Jesus name I pray, AMEN
Loving Father I confess that sometimes I look backwards, rather than single-mindedly looking forward to the goal of my calling. May I set my heart as a flint to do Your will, in the power of the Spirit, to Your praise and glory, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You that I am Your child. I want to live my life the way that You have ordained, and run the race that You have set before me. Help me to press on towards the goal of my calling in Christ Jesus, trusting in Him to overcome every problem, disappointment and challenge I may face, to Your praise and glory, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Paul, who pressed on for the upward call of God in Christ Jesus, and was prepared to fellowship in the suffering of his Saviour. Thank You that Your grace is sufficient, no matter what suffering we may have to face. Prepare our hearts and minds, we pray, to walk in the ways of God, all the days of our life - for His praise and glory. In Jesus name we pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the godly example of the apostle Paul.. and I pray that I too may live my life to the standard of holiness to which I have attained, in Christ. But more than that I thank You for Jesus, and for sending Him to be my sacrifice for sin. Lord I want to offer my life as a living sacrifice that is honouring to Your name. Help me to live.. and if necessary to die to Your praise and glory - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the life and ministry of the apostle Paul. Thank You for the example he set of Christ-likeness, through self-sacrifice - holy and acceptable to You. My heart-cry, is to know You more intimately, to love You more deeply and to follow You more closely.. no matter what the cost. May I know the power of Your resurrected life, and be willing to fellowship in Christ's suffering, for His name's sake. May I present my life to You as a holy and living sacrifice.. this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, how easy it is for the old sin nature to influence our thinking, and cause any one of us to become enemies of the Cross, when through self-righteousness or pride we try to do things in our own strength, rather than dying to self and living our new life in Christ. Keep me from falling into the old, fleshly ways, and may I learn to walk in spirit and truth, to Your praise and glory. Prevent me from falling into any self-righteous or legalistic thinking, and keep me resting in Christ and submitted to the Holy Spirit of truth. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
What a wonderful privilege to be part of Your heavenly family as one of Your children. Thank You Father for all the grace and love that you have poured out on me to make me one of Your heavenly people, and to give me an heavenly inheritance. I pray that throughout the rest of my life on earth I may glorify Your holy name in my conversation and conduct, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your many precious promises of God, and that one day.. all who believe on Christ, will have our lowly bodies changed into the image and likeness of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank You that You have promised to transform the bodies of Your blood-bought children, into a body that will be like His resurrected, body of glory. Thank You that Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever - AMEN.
Loving Father, I pray that I may live my life for Christ and stand fast in Him so that I may be used by You to witness in word or deed to all with whom I come in contact today, in Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Loving Father thank You for Your gift of joy and for Your fruit of rejoicing. Help me to take all my thoughts captive... especially those doubts and imaginings that are prompted by the enemy to steal the heavenly gift of joy that is mine in Christ. Thank You, Father, that You are worthy of all my praise and that Your joy is a heavenly medicine and spiritual muscle that strengthens my trust and increases my love for You. May I never cease to rejoice in You all the days of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the many epistles of Paul and the wealth of information, teachings and training that they contain. Help me to walk a walk of watchfulness, knowing that You are returning very soon – and enable me to stand fast in the evil day, to rejoice in the Lord always, to live in the light of Your presence and to let a spirit of gentleness be evident to all, with whom I come in contact – this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.
Lord, You have told us in Your Word to be anxious for nothing, and I know in my heart that I am anxious about lot of things. And what is worse, I pretend to others that I am not worried, when in fact I am anxious about everything. I know such striving is not Your will for my life and I pray Lord, that You will show me how I may live my life resting on Your promises of peace and rest.
You said in Your Word not to be anxious, but pray instead about everything and to talk to You about what I need. You told me also to have a thankful heart for all that You have done in my life. Lord, I am coming to You this very moment to tell You that I long to stop being so anxious and to ask that in Your grace You would keep me from all anxious thoughts, and give me Your peace that passes understanding.
I also pray that You will help me to keep my mind fixed on Jesus, so that when any anxious imaginings starts to surface in my mind, I may immediately turn my thoughts onto You, and thank You for all that You have done for me, and for the many promises that are all Yes and Amen in Jesus Christ.
Thank You, that You are a God who listens to our heart cry and answers our prayers. In Jesus' name,
Heavenly Father thank You that You are the One Who has promised Your inner, living, perfect peace to all who will read, mark, learn, inwardly digest and apply all the principles of godly living that are set out for our learning in the holy Scriptures. Help me to live my life as You intended.. to rejoice continually, to pray without ceasing and to give thanks in all things, knowing that this is Your will for my life, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, keep me I pray from anxious thoughts. Help me to garrison my thought-life on all that is commendable and good and help me to keep the eyes of my heart fixed on Jesus. Help me to make a conscious choice to dwell on those things that are worthy of praise, knowing that the light of Christ and the darkness of all that is evil cannot abide together. This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, what a joy to recall how Paul rejoiced in You in every situation, and recognised Your hand of blessing through the gifts he received from others. Give me a grateful heart for those You use to supply my needs, and use me I pray, to help provide for the needs of others, to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this example of generous giving and of gracious receiving. I pray that I may be content in all things, whether I have much or little, but I also pray that You will prompt me give of what I have, when others are in need, not out of obligation but out of love for You. Thank You that all good and perfect things come from You and may I be a good steward of all I have.. and trust You for all I need - in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, help me like Paul to be contented in all circumstances of life.. whether I find myself in humble means or endowed with more prosperous surroundings. Help me to learn how to get along when I am abased or endowed with much prosperity. I pray that in all things I may be contented - whether I am being filled with good things or find myself facing hardship and hunger. Give me a contented heart that looks to Jesus for my strength, my support and my supply - and whether I live in abundance and or find myself in dire need.. I pray that I may live day by day to Your praise and glory, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Teach me, my Father, to look to Jesus each moment of the day for my strength, and not to rely on my own, imperfect, human abilities and intelligence, for without You I can do nothing. But thanks be to God that as I rest in Christ Jesus, He will empower me through the indwelling Holy Spirit, to carry out Your will for my life. Father, I confess that without You I can do nothing, but thanks be to God that I can do all things through Christ, Who strengthens me, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to You be praise and glory forever, AMEN.
Loving Father, I stand amazed at Your gracious bounty, knowing that You care about both the little things that I need today, as well as the eternal blessings that are being laid up for me in heaven, for which I praise Your holy name, in Christ Jesus I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, there is so much to learn from the epistles of Paul and the other apostles - even in the simple greetings at the beginning, and the gracious exhortations at the end. I pray that I may value all my brothers and sisters in Christ and delight to give and receive encouragement and support, as we 'gossip the gospel', rejoice in our salvation, and wait for the any-day return of our Lord and Saviour - Jesus Christ, in Whose precious name I pray, AMEN.
