Prayer for Isaiah 6

Choose Verse

Heavenly Father, what a great and magnificent God You are. And how I praise and thank You that You are my God in Whom I place my trust. Keep me looking away from the world to You, Who alone is my Protector and Provider and in Who died in my place so that I might live for Him - this I pray in Jesus name, AMEN.

“In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.”
(Isaiah 6:1)

Father God, the glory of Your Person and the perfection of Your character amazes me. I am not worthy to unloose Your sandal and yet You sent Your only begotten Son to die for me - Praise Your Holy name, AMEN

“And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.”

Father, teach me Who You are and show me how flawed my understanding is, of who I truly am in Christ. Thank you for cleansing my lips and washing me clean in the blood of Jesus - Lord. Here am I, send me, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”
(Isaiah 6:8)

Heavenly Father, it must have been wonderful for Isaiah to see the Lord, high and lifted up, but what a solemn message he was given - that people would hear his words but reject his message. Lord it is human nature to expect people to respond positively to the glorious gospel of grace, and yet I see that many will hear the words of the gospel but not listen, nor understand because of the hardness of their hearts. Help me not to become discouraged when I try to share the gospel and am rebuffed or scorned. Help me to be faithful in the work You have given me to do and I pray that some would hear and respond with repentance and joy - for the honour of Your holy name. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.”
