Prayer for Acts 26

Choose Verse

Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Paul who turned from being a proud Pharisee and the worst of sinners into a devoted bond-servant and faithful apostle of Christ. I pray that I may be ever open to the inner promptings of the Holy Spirit and that You would use me as a witness of the truth, in whatever way You choose. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.”
(Acts 26:14)

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your word. Thank You for the ministry of Paul and the lessons we can learn from his life and ministry. Give me an understanding heart that is willing to learn, and prevent me from holding fast to any opinion or belief systems that is counter to the truth of the gospel. Give me a teachable spirit I pray and may I be used in the furtherance of the gospel, in whatever way You choose - for Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.”

Heavenly Father, what an amazing testimony we have in Saul the persecutor who became Paul the humble apostle and was used by You for Your greater praise and glory. Thank You that You are ready and willing to use all who have been sanctified by faith in the death and resurrection of Christ and that no sin is too great that cannot be forgiven - except the sin of unbelief. Just as You used Paul in the furtherance of Your kingdom, I pray that You would use me in whatever way You will. Take MY life I pray and let it be consecrated to You - through time and into eternity, this I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;”
(Acts 26:16)

Prayer For The Church To Be Sanctified

Father, we pray that as members of the body of Christ we may learn to be imitators of You and to walk in love, with one another.. just as the Lord Jesus Christ loved us and gave Himself as an offering and sweet-smelling sacrifice - holy and acceptable to God.

Thank You Father that in Christ we are children of the light. May we walk in the light of the Lord, Who is the Way, the Truth, the Light and the Life - and Lord we know that Your purpose for the Church is to transform each one into the likeness of the Lord Jesus – until He is all in all.

We pray that as member of His body we may walk in all goodness and righteousness and live a life that is honoring to You. Teach us we pray to do only those things that are pleasing in Your sight and we ask that every member of the body of Christ may be sanctified – set apart unto You and cleansed with the washing of the water by the word of God, and made holy in thought word and deed.

We pray that the Church may be purified by the Spirit of power, so that she may be without spot or wrinkle or any such thing – but holy and blameless before You in love – We ask this in Jesus name

Amen

“To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
(Acts 26:18)

To Be Freed From My Burdensome Addiction

Dear Lord Jesus, my addiction is a terrible burden and a such a shame to me and yet I find myself constantly returning to behaviours that I hate and long to be able to shed. I am so ashamed Lord and yet I know that You were the One Who said that You came to set the captives free – and Lord I am a captive. I am a captive and slave of this terrible addiction and yet to long to be freed and to live a normal life.

Free me Lord I pray from this compulsion for it is stifling my life and has cost me many dear friends as well as my job – but I long to be free to live as I ought.

I have heard the gospel and I do believe that Jesus died to take the full punishment for all my sins, including my addiction and I believe that He rose the third day, which broke the power of death in the lives of all who believe – so I am coming to you to ask You Lord to give me the abundant life that You have promised. I know that eternal life is now my portion but I pray that I may be free of my addiction in this life so that I may serve You as You deserve, I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Amen
“Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:”
(Acts 26:22)
