Praying through Joshua 5:13

Heavenly Father, how much there is to learn from Joshua and his encounter with the Angel of the Lord Who commands the armies of God and is the Lord Jesus Christ - the Captain of our salvation. I pray that no matter what problems or difficulties I may encounter, I would be ready and willing to give you control of every part of my life - so that I may have good success in all I do, for Your greater praise and glory. Thank You for the many reminders that without YOU I can do nothing... but that I can do all things THROUGH Christ, Who strengthens me. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.

“And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?”
(Joshua 5:13)

Praying through Joshua 5:14

Heavenly Father, how we praise and thank You for the Scriptures that provide us with illustrations of living a life that honours You, as we travel along our own life-journey. Thank You for men like Joshua, whose lives in the physical realm demonstrate the continuing need for practical faith and godly wisdom, if we are to succeed in the spiritual sphere. Thank You that You gained the victory over all the enemies of my soul, and that in Christ I have been redeemed and declared righteous. Teach me Your way and help my ears to be ever open to Your leading and guidance - this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?”
(Joshua 5:14)
