Heavenly Father, thank You that 'in-Christ' I have the sufficient grace and power, through Him.. to overcome the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. Thank You that Your grace is sufficient for all my needs - for my sufficiency is in Christ alone, Thank You in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Loving Father I do want to pray aright and to pray into Your will. Keep me I pray from such covetous thoughts that anchor me to this world, which I know have nothing to offer, but rather help me to focus my eyes on You and keep my ears ever open to Your voice, so that I may pray in spirit and truth, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Loving Father, I confess that I am too easily drawn into worldly thinking, which I know grieves the Holy Spirit. Keep my humble of heart before You, knowing that this is Your will for my life, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing privilege of the indwelling Holy Spirit, Who desires us to be holy for You are holy. Keep me from engaging in strife and acrimony and help me never to foster carnal attitudes or crave after the things of this world. Help me to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and to be careful of needs of my brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray that I may think of others before myself and ask that I may truly die to my own desires... and jealously live for Your praise and glory - this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Loving Father, thank You for the great grace that You show to me every day of my life. I pray that I heed Your serious warnings against prideful boastings and do not yield to any ungodly ways - rather come to You on bended knee with a broken and contrite heart, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN
Thank You heavenly Father that I am no longer under the domain of Satan but am a child of God who is under grace and not under law. I pray that I may walk in spirit and truth to Your praise and honour and that in Your power.. I will resist the influences of the world, the flesh and the devil.. and walk in meekness, purity, spirituality and sincerity all the days of my life - to Your praise and glory, AMEN.
Loving Father I want to develop a singleness of mind towards You with my heart purified and my hands clean before You, so that I can draw closer and closer to Christ, my Saviour and Lord. Keep my ears open to Your voice, my eyes open to Your truth and my heart open to You alone, in Jesus name I pray AMEN.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the wise instruction to live godly and victorious lives in the book of James. We praise and glorify Your holy name that we have all we need for life and godliness, through faith in Jesus Christ. Help me surrender my life and maintain sweet fellowship with You. Purify my heart and keep me from double-mindedness. May I hate sin, in all its ugly guises and mourn over the things that dishonour Your holy name. Keep me low at the cross and I pray that I would humble my heart before you daily, and live and work for Your greater praise and glory, this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN,
Heavenly Father, thank You that You have so clearly set out the criteria for Your children to humble ourselves before Your throne of grace and for the promise that when we are ready and willing to humble ourselves before You... in Your grace You will lift us up and set our feet on the Rock of our salvation. Keep my heart pure before You and use me as a channel of Your goodness and grace to others - this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, the past few years seem to have sped by and here we are preparing for the graduation of our precious child.. who not so long ago was a helpless babe in our arms.
Thank You for this child that You gave us to care for and nurture and as they face the unknown future we pray that You would draw very close to them and lead and guide in the days that lie ahead.
Our own hearts are a mixture of contrasting emotions: - pride in their achievement and concern for their future well-being. But we do pray that this graduation ceremony would be a special time of celebration and that nothing would mar the joy and excited anticipation we are feeling.. despite the inevitable tinges of apprehension.
As our child reaches this important milestone in their life we ask for Your continued presence to lead and to guide in all things.. and as they step out into the unknown world of new responsibilities and life-challenges, we finally hand them completely over into Your safe-keeping and ask that Your presence will accompany them and that they continue to grow in grace and draw ever closer to You with each passing day – this we ask in Jesus name
Heavenly Father, thank You for this truth in the book of James, that when I know what is righteous.. and yet do not do it, I am committing a sin in Your eyes. Forgive me for the times when I have done things that are wrong and avoided doing what is right, or turned a blind eye to some need or necessity. Thank You that in Christ I have all that I need to live righteously, in this troubled world, and from this day forward I pray that I would not only know what is right, but be ready and willing to carry it out, through Your sufficient strength, and for Your greater glory, this I ask in Jesus name AMEN.
