Prayer for 1 Corinthians 13

Praying through 1 Corinthians 13:1

Heavenly Father, thank You that you give each of Your children one or more gifts of the Spirit, to be used in love and to Your glory. Help me to use the gifts that you have bestowed on me, in a way that does not dishonour or displease You. May my spiritual gifts be rooted and grounded in Christ’s love. In His name I pray, AMEN.

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.”

Praying through 1 Corinthians 13:13

Thank You Father for Your gift of salvation by grace alone – simply because we believe in Your Son. Thank You for the hope that is set before us and thank You for the love of the Lord Jesus, which was demonstrated to us on a wooden cross, 2000 years ago. May His love flood our hearts and pour through us into the lives of others, that they may know Your love, have faith in Your finished work and receive that blessed hope in their hearts, that only comes from You, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”
