Prayer for 1 Corinthians 1

Praying through 1 Corinthians 1:2

I pray that I may fulfil all that You would have me to do in my life, to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Father God, I confess that I could not draw another breath without Your strength. Heavenly Father, forgive the times when I have allowed foolish pride or a careless attitude to cause disunity to fester within my heart towards my brothers and sisters in Christ. Heavenly Father, thank You for the Scriptures and the many lessons I can learn from Paul's corrective teachings in his various epistles. I pray that the Body of Christ may become increasingly united in these difficult and dangerous days in which we live. Help us to hold fast to the truth of the glorious gospel, and may we all be diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in our churches and in our fellowship together, for Jesus' name's sake. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through 1 Corinthians 1:18

Praise God for the message of the Cross. Praise You, Lord, that You loved the world so much that You gave Your only begotten Son to be our Saviour, to die on the Cross so that we might live with Him forever. Thank You that Jesus became a man and died on the Cross to be our substitute for sin, by means of His shed blood on Calvary's Cross. And all praise and glory be to You, that He broke the power of sin and death to all who believe on His name. Thank You, forever and ever, AMEN.

Praying through 1 Corinthians 1:19

Heavenly Father, thank You that in Your wisdom, You set at nought all man's self-proclaimed wisdom and self-confident merit by sending the Lord Jesus to die on the Cross and rise again the third day, proclaiming faith in Him alone to be the one and only Way to salvation. Keep me looking to Jesus and living humbly before You all the days of my life. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through 1 Corinthians 1:23

Heavenly Father, thank You that in Your goodness and grace, You opened my understanding to the glorious gospel of God and brought me into Your family, by grace through faith in the simple message of the Cross. Use me, I pray, to be a channel of blessing to others who are still in darkness. I pray that the stumbling block for many in Israel would be removed, and that those who have rejected the gospel because of arrogance, pride, self-confidence, and self-sanctification, would have the eyes of their heart opened to see that Christ crucified is their only hope. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
