Praying through 1 Corinthians 11:23

Heavenly Father, thank You for the institution of the Lord’s Supper. Thank You that we are called to remember the high price that Jesus paid for our sin, and for our communal remembrance – at the communion table. May I never become complacent about the enormous price that was paid for my sin, and help me to honour Your holy name, when I meet together, with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank You for Your word and the wonderful truths it contains, and thank You Father, for the revelation that we have received through Paul, and the other apostles. Keep me low at the cross of my Saviour and my heart broken before You – this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:”

Praying through 1 Corinthians 11:32

Heavenly Father, thank You that You love Your children so much, that Your punishment is not designed to harm us, but to return us into precious fellowship with Yourself. Help me to keep a short rein on my sin and confess it quickly to You, but when I do have unconfessed sin, I pray that I will be teachable, and learn every lesson that You would teach me, through Your chastening programme. Thank You, also, for the opportunities I have, to break bread, and to remember the amazing sacrifice Christ made on the cross for me. May I always treat it with reverence and fear, to Your praise and glory - this I ask in Jesus'' name, AMEN.

“But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.”
