Prayer for Hebrews 10

Praying through Hebrews 10:1

Heavenly Father, thank You that the Law which was given to Israel, was a shadow of better things to come through Christ. He is not only my heavenly High Priest, but the sacrificial offering that You accepted as the full and final payment for my sin and the sin of the whole world. Thank You that there is nothing more that I need to do other than believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as my Saviour. May I never ever become complacent about the enormous sacrifice that the Lord Jesus paid on my account when He went to the Cross for my sake. In His precious name I pray, AMEN.

“For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.”
(Hebrews 10:1)

Praying through Hebrews 10:5

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Christ Jesus into the world to be born a perfect man. He alone has paid the price for my sins. Thank You for His perfect life, lived in His perfect body so that He could die the perfect death and become my risen Saviour. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:”

Praying through Hebrews 10:10

Heavenly Father, thank You that I am positionally sanctified in Christ. Help me to abide in Him and He in me so that I may grow in grace and live as You intended man to live. I cannot live through good works, worthy merit, or through my own vain efforts to keep the perfect requirements of the Law. I can only live by faith, in complete and utter dependence upon You. Help me in all things to pray, "Not my will by Thine be done." In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”

Praying through Hebrews 10:12

Heavenly Father, thank You for the Law, the Levitical priesthood, and the sacrifices that were so faithfully made again and again to cover the sins of Israel and constantly pointing to the One Who sacrificed Himself once for the sins of the whole world, past, present, and future. Thank You that Jesus' sacrifice was enough and that we cannot add anything more for our salvation than to believe on Him. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;”
(Hebrews 10:12)

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your amazing plan of redemption. Thank You that despite their apostasy You did not cast Your earthly people aside, but promised to make a new, unconditional covenant with them. Thank You that as a member of the Body of Christ, I am a minister of that new and better Covenant. I pray that You will use me to carry out Your will and purpose for my life, to Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 10:20

Loving Father, thank You for giving Your only begotten Son to tear down the wall of separation between Your perfection and my sinfulness. I praise and thank You, Heavenly Father, for the wonderful assurance of faith I have in my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank You that I have been washed in the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb and covered in the righteousness of the lovely Lord Jesus Christ. Keep my ears open to Your voice, my eyes open to Your leading, and my heart ready to follow Your guiding light. This I ask in the precious name of Jesus, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 10:24

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me so much that while I was still dead in my trespasses and sins, Christ completed His finished work on the Cross so that by grace through faith in Him, I might have forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. Thank You for those who taught me about the Lord Jesus and who demonstrated the love of Christ in their own lives, provoking me to love and good works in my own life. Help me to be so in tune with You that others may be provoked unto love and good works through my witness, as Christ lives in me and I in Him. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:”

Praying through Hebrews 10:25

Heavenly Father, thank You that I am part of the Body of Christ. May I understand the importance of meeting regularly with my brothers and sisters in Christ, especially in these last days in which we live before Your return in the clouds at the glorious Rapture of the Church. I pray that I may actively seek out opportunities to meet together with other Christians so that together we may give mutual encouragement and motivate one another toward godly love and good works. As the world becomes increasingly dark, I pray that none of us would fall into the trap of becoming isolated in our Christian walk, but we would grow in grace and wisdom and in a knowledge of You, enjoying godly fellowship and sound teaching. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

Praying through Hebrews 10:26

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to be my Saviour and Lord. Thank You that He is my Prophet, Priest, and King, and for the great work He has done for me at Calvary. I confess that I have not always followed Him as I ought, but I humbly pray that in Your power, I would live according to His perfect will. Help me to understand more fully the implications of His death and Resurrection in my life, and I pray that I would come to know His love more deeply and honour Him in all I say and do. Give me strength to press on to maturity and to embrace the new life of righteousness I have in Him. Thank You for all You have done for me. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 10:31

Heavenly Father, thank You that my salvation is eternally secure and nothing can separate me from Your love. Thank You that the only requirement for salvation is to believe in Jesus. May I never be tempted to try to add anything to gain or maintain my salvation. I pray for all those who are trying to add more requirements to their walk with You and in doing so, are trampling You underfoot and bringing upon themselves a severe chastening from You which is, indeed, terrifying. May they repent, realising that they can add nothing to Christ's' finished work on the Cross. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

Heavenly Father, may I live a life that is pleasing to You, and may I keep looking to Jesus, moment by moment, knowing that He is returning soon to take His Bride home to be with Himself. Praying through Hebrews 10:38

Heavenly Father, I know that without faith it is impossible to please You. Help me to live each day of my life in the light of Your love and not to draw back through unbelief or fear. Help me to know, reckon, appropriate, and live the victorious life which is already mine in Christ. May my faith be pleasing to You, and may I glorify You in all I say and do. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the great salvation that is mine in Christ. Thank You that nothing can snatch me from Your hand, and nothing can separate me from Your love which is mine by faith in Christ. I pray that I may live a victorious life for the honour of Your name. When my spirit fails or I find myself under severe trials and temptations, may I lean on Your ever present, sufficient strength to come through victoriously. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
