Prayer for Hebrews 1

Praying through Hebrews 1:1

Loving Father, I stand amazed at the wonder of Who You are and that You should condescend to love me and rescue me from the wages of my sin. Thank You for conveying this truth to me through Your single, integrated, supernaturally inspired message of Scripture. May I study to be approved and not stand ashamed before Your throne of grace. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,”

Praying through Hebrews 1:3

Heavenly Father, I am filled with awe and wonder that Jesus redeemed me from death and hell with His own precious blood. What a blessing to know that Christ's work is finished, my sins are forgiven, and I am redeemed. Thank You that after Jesus finished His work, He sat down at Your right hand and even now is there making intercession for me. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 1:4

Heavenly Father, may I never fall into the trap of worshipping or glorifying angels. An angel could never save mankind but only God incarnate, Your only begotten Son, my Saviour, Jesus Christ could save us. May my worship, glory, and honour be for Him. Praise His holy name, AMEN.

“Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”

Praying through Hebrews 1:5

Heavenly Father, thank You that You gave Your only begotten Son to become the sacrifice for my sins. Thank You that by faith in Christ's finished work at Calvary my sins have been forgiven forever and my life has been redeemed from the pit. Thank You that Christ rose from the dead and has become the first-begotten from the dead, and thank You that in Him I have life, eternal life, and life more abundantly. Help me to live my life to Your honour and glory, and may I never forget what it cost You to have the new life in Christ empowering me. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 1:6

Heavenly Father, thank You that You chose to step into time and become part of Your own creation for a season so that fallen, condemned humanity might be redeemed from the curse of sin and death. You alone are worthy of all honour and glory, might, majesty, dominion, praise, and worship. May I join my voice with the angels of heaven and together may we worship You forever and ever. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.”

Praying through Hebrews 1:7

Heavenly Father, thank You sending the Lord Jesus to be Your full and final revelation to mankind. Thank You for making man in Your own image and likeness and for Your wonderful plan of salvation, where despite our faults and failure, You sent Your only begotten Son to become a Man and to die on the Cross for the sin of the world. Thank You that Your throne is established in righteousness and justice, and for giving us an understanding of the angelic realm - whom You use as ministering spirits to dispatch both blessings and judgements on the children of men. To You be praise and glory, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 1:8

Heavenly Father, how can it be that You would love the fallen race of rebellious man so much that You sent Your only begotten Son to be made sin for us so that in Him, we might be made the righteousness of God. I praise You that the sceptre of righteousness is in His hand and that one day He will set up His everlasting kingdom of righteousness. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 1:10

Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus, the Word of God Who created the heavens and the earth. I stand in awe at the magnificence of the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, the majesty of His office, and His eternally appointed judicial role as King-of-kings and Lord-of-lords. Thank You for sending Jesus to be my Saviour. May I live my life to His praise and glory, now and forever. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Hebrews 1:13

Heavenly Father, praise Your holy name for Christ Who came as a Man to live a perfect life, to die a sacrificial death, be raised from the dead, and is now seated at Your right hand making intercession for me. In that day with the angels I will sing: "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, heaven and earth are full of His glory, hosanna in the highest." In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?”

Heavenly Father, what a privilege to be adopted into Your family as a child of God and to be made a joint-heir with Christ by Your grace, simply through believing in Jesus as my God and Saviour. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
