Prayer for Personal Accountability

Lord Jesus it says in Your Word, examine Yourself to see it you are in the faith – Lord I realise that this is not talking to unbelievers but to all of us who are Your children, in Christ Jesus. Lord help me to examine myself, and all that I am, and all that I am learning from You and Your word, so that I truly may say with conviction :-I know in Whom I have believed and am walking in the path on which He has placed me.

Keep me also from critical thoughts of others, and prevent me Lord, from having a spirit of control – or by pretending to hold others accountable to You when the beam in my own eye is greater than the speck that is in my brothers’ eyes.

Keep me humble before Your throng of grace and may I walk the way of the cross day be day - with the Spirit as my teacher and the Word of God washing me clean. Thank You for all my Christian friends and brothers and keep us all walking close to You in the days that lie ahead, in Jesus name I pray,

“Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:”

Heavenly Father, there are many that seek to demolish the truth of the glorious gospel of Christ, through scornful sarcasm and ill-imagined philosophies. Thank You.. that in Christ we have the Word of God, and the power of prayer, to demolish any long-winded, ungodly opinions of men.. with their impressive credentials and dismissive policies. May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart reflect the truth of Your word. May I depend on You to bring down all the strongholds and arguments that are fired against me, that seek to discredit the truth of the glorious gospel of God. This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)”

Loving Father, too often my thoughts are not kept in captivity to obey You. Help me to become more and more captivated with Christ so that all else melts away as I gaze on the beauty of Your presence within my heart, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”
