Prayer for 2 Corinthians 5

Praying through 2 Corinthians 5:1

Heavenly Father, thank You for my life and the knowledge that by grace through faith, I have been made a new creation in Christ. This earthly body will be replaced with a heavenly dwelling, not made with hands but formed and fashioned by my God and Saviour. Thank You for the words of encouragement in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, that no matter what trials, tribulations, persecution, and pain I may have to face while living in this earthly tent, I have the assurance of a permanent building from God, an eternal house in the heavens. Keep me ever mindful that this world is not my home and that my citizenship and eternal inheritance is kept for me in heaven. Thank You that one day I will be dressed in immortality and be made like unto Jesus, my God and my Saviour. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.

“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 5:2

Heavenly Father, thank You for my new life in Christ, which gives me full assurance that I will one day rise to life immortal and be clothed in a dwelling from heaven that You have prepared for me. Thank You that I have a hope in Christ and that nothing can separate me from Your love. Give me the strength I need to live my life in a way that honours You, and may I look, day by day, to that blessed hope I have in Christ Jesus. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 5:3

Heavenly Father, thank You that in Christ we have an assurance that we are not only forgiven of our sin and have received the gift of eternal life by faith, but are part of the new creation in Christ and have passed from death to life. Thank You that in Him we will not be found naked, but have received an inheritance in heaven and will soon be clothed with a new, eternal body, that far surpasses this frail, dying frame. Thank You for sending Jesus to be the propitiation for my sin and thank You that by His death and Resurrection, sin and death have been defeated. I praise You for the wonderful assurance that my body will also be resurrected and I will be complete and blameless at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ; spirit, soul, and body. Hallelujah! Praise His holy name, AMEN.

“If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 5:4

Heavenly Father, what a joy to know that a day is coming when all that is mortal will be swallowed up by life, and we will stand the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You for the truth that we will one day be clothed in a new, resurrected body, like Christ's own glorified body. Thank You that we are not under God's condemnation because we have trusted Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and how I praise You that the suffering and groaning of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. I praise You for Your goodness and grace, and I pray in the holy name of Jesus, my Lord and my God, AMEN.

“For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for the confidence I have in You and Your Word. Praying through 2 Corinthians 5:7

Loving Father, thank You for my great salvation. I pray that You would help me walk by faith, to live by faith, to pray in faith, and to trust all that is written in Your Word of truth - by faith. I pray that I may die to myself and my own abilities, and rest entirely on You and Your sufficient grace in all I say and do. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Prayer For Accountability In My Christian Life

Loving Lord, thank You for Your written Word which contains all that we need as unbelievers to be forgiven of sins, as well as all that we need as Your saved children, to live godly lives in Christ Jesus.

Father, I realise that in Your grace You have excluded no one from Your gift of Salvation, but You simply hold us accountable to believe in Your precious Son. But now I understand that You also hold me accountable to grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus, by faith in Christ and not by trusting in my own abilities, if I am to become a mature believer in Christ.

Lord, I want to grow in my Christian life and to live my life as unto the Lord. Teach me Your ways and guide me with Your Holy Spirit. Lord, I want to be accountable to You in my Christian life. Give me a teachable Spirit and a desire to apply all the truths that I am learning, for I desire to do Your will in my life. In Jesus' name I pray,

Amen.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 5:14

Loving Father, how astonishing that Christ's death paid the price for all my sins and that His life has given me a brand-new life in Him as well. I pray that I may no longer live for myself, but that I may live my life for Christ alone. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 5:15

Loving Lord and Heavenly Father, what glories there are within the finished work of Christ. Thank You that Christ died for me, and that by believing on His saving work at Calvary, all my sins are forgiven, forever. Thank You that through Christ's Resurrection I have eternal life and His resurrected life has now become my new life in Christ. Thank You, Father, for the grace that is found in Jesus Christ, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 5:16

Heavenly Father, may my love for Christ so constrain me, that I choose to live, day by day, in spirit and in truth. May I not pay attention to things in this fallen, failing, finite world, according to the flesh, but may I develop a spiritual perspective in all things. Help me to live godly in Christ Jesus, my risen, ascended, and glorified God and Saviour. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 5:17

Thank You, Father, that in Christ all things are made new. Thank You that in Christ, old things have passed away, and I have been made a new creation, in HIM. Help me to truly understand that this amazing truth is not only something for the future but something that took place the moment I believed in Christ as Saviour. I pray that I may come to a deeper understanding of what it is to be a part of a new, and heavenly creation in Christ, in His name I pray, AMEN.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 5:18

Heavenly Father, what an amazing privilege that You should use such as me to be your mouthpiece and be used as an ambassador for Christ, to a lost and hurting world. Enable me to share the wonderful news that God has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ and that we can partake in that reconciliation, simply by believing in Him. I pray that many may come to trust in Jesus as Saviour in the days that lie ahead. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;”

Praying through 2 Corinthians 5:20

Thank You, Father, for Your gracious-kindness, loving-mercy, and long-suffering toward me and all humanity. Thank You for reconciling the world back to Yourself, through Your only begotten Son. Help me to be a worthy witness of the truth of Your Word and boldly declare the message of reconciliation to all with whom I come in contact. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through 2 Corinthians 5:21

Dear Father God, I can scarce take in the depth of love You have for me, a sinner, who deserves nothing but condemnation. I praise You for Your grace, and love, and wisdom, and mercy toward me, because through Christ there is no condemnation for those who believe in Him. Lord, I believe. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
