Prayer for 2 Corinthians 5

Heavenly Father, thank You for my life and the knowledge that by grace through faith I have been made a new creation in Christ and that this earthly body will be replaced with a heavenly dwelling, not made with hands but formed and fashioned by my God and Saviour. Thank You for the words of encouragement in Paul's letter to the Corinthians, that no matter what trials, tribulation, persecution and pain we may have to face while living in this earthly tent, we have the assurance of a permanent building from God - an eternal house in the heavens, for which we praise and thank You. Keep me ever mindful that this world is not my home and that my citizenship and eternal inheritance is kept for me in heaven. Thank You that one day I will be dressed in immortality and be made like unto Jesus - my God and my Saviour. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.

“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for my life and for my new life in Christ, which gives me full assurance that I will one day rise to life immortal and be clothed in a dwelling from heaven, that You have prepared for me. Thank You that I have a hope in Christ and that nothing can separate me from Your love. Give me the strength I need to live my life in the way that honours You and may I look day by day to that blessed hope I have in Christ Jesus, Who died for my sin and rose from the grave so that I too may rise to live immortal - this I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Prayer for Personal Accountability

Lord Jesus it says in Your Word, examine Yourself to see it you are in the faith – Lord I realise that this is not talking to unbelievers but to all of us who are Your children, in Christ Jesus. Lord help me to examine myself, and all that I am, and all that I am learning from You and Your word, so that I truly may say with conviction :-I know in Whom I have believed and am walking in the path on which He has placed me.

Keep me also from critical thoughts of others, and prevent me Lord, from having a spirit of control – or by pretending to hold others accountable to You when the beam in my own eye is greater than the speck that is in my brothers’ eyes.

Keep me humble before Your throng of grace and may I walk the way of the cross day be day - with the Spirit as my teacher and the Word of God washing me clean. Thank You for all my Christian friends and brothers and keep us all walking close to You in the days that lie ahead, in Jesus name I pray,

Amen
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”

Loving Father how astonishing that Christ's death paid the price for all my sin and that His life has given me a brand-new life in Him as well. I pray that I may no longer live for myself – but that I may live my life for Christ alone – Who for my sake bled and died and was raised that I too might live, AMEN.

Father what an amazing privilege that You should use such as me to be your mouthpiece and be used as an ambassador for Christ, through a ministry of reconciliation to a lost and hurting world. Enable me to share the wonderful news that God has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ - simply by believing in Him and I pray that many may come to trust in Jesus as Saviour in the days that lie ahead, to Your praise and glory, AMEN
