Prayer for 2 Corinthians 4 ►
Lord, give me the purity, integrity and focus to be the kind of vessel You would desire.
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”

Thank You Lord that You are my refuge and my strength in hard times and an ever present helper in times of trouble. Help me to cling to You and this truth from the Bible, that You keep bringing to my mind.
I know that You are the only, all-powerful God and that there is nothing that is too difficult in my life for You to deal with – nor is there any obstacle in my path that is so insurmountable that I cannot cross – knowing that You are by my side.
Give me I pray Your strength to face today’s hard and troubled times with the confidence of knowing that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Thank YOU that my strength comes from You and that Your grace is sufficient for all the tasks and duties that will cross my daily path – not only for today but for the rest of my journey through life.
Thank YOU Father that Your grace is sufficient – help me to meditate on this truth every day,
troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are
perplexed, but not in despair;”

Father, You are our God of hope and love. Thank You for sending Your only begotten Son into the world so that sinful man might be forgiven of their sins and be given peace with God, through the sacrifice of the precious life of Christ Jesus.
Thank You for the joy and hope that this time of Advent brings into the hearts of all those who trust in Jesus. Thank You for the good news of the gospel of Christ that brings man back into sweet fellowship with their Creator and for the perfect peace and glorious hope that He has placed into the hearts of all who trust on His name.
Thank You Lord that Jesus is coming again to set up His eternal kingdom on earth as You have promised, and that we who are members of His body will rule and reign with Him for 1000 years.
Thank You for the hope and love and peace that You gave to mankind in the Person of our Lord Jesus Christ – to You be all the praise and glory at this special time of Advent and throughout the coming year, in Jesus name we pray,
“For all things are
for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.”

Loving Father, I know that You often halt us in our tracks and remove us from the business of life, through an illness or a time of ill-health - so that we are forced take our eyes off the hurly-burly of life, and lie on an enforced bed of sickness - in order to rediscover what are our true priorities are in life.
Father, I know that I have not spent quality time with You, as I have allowed the daily duties of life and less-important issues to crowd out my special time alone in Your presence.
Forgive me I pray. I want to use this time of ill-health as an opportunity to get closer to You. Lead me and guide me in this time of illness - and may it become a time of spiritual as well as a period of physical rest.
Heal me Father I pray, not only in my body but also in my relationship with You,
“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man
is renewed day by day.”

Heavenly Father we bring to You the many people that have found themselves in hospital and pray that in a wonderful way You would minister to them through the doctors and nurses and all those that are there to help them in their recovery.
Lord we pray that You would use this time in hospital to reach deep into the hearts of each these people and help them to realise how fragile their lives are - and to cause them to consciously search for You with their hearts.
Lord we pray that as healing and health comes to their bodies that spiritual healing and wholeness would come to their souls – and that the time they have spent in hospital would become a spiritual wake-up call – so that they re-evaluate their lives and realise their need of Jesus as their Saviour - and accept Christ as their Redeemer and King – in Whose name we pray,
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and
eternal weight of glory;”
