Prayer for Matthew 7

Choose Verse

Heavenly Father, keep me I pray from hypocritical thoughts and unrighteous judgement of others - but give me the wisdom and discernment I need to judge between that which is good and that which is evil. Keep me walking humbly before You and help me to always to consider the needs of others before my own - this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Judge not, that ye be not judged.”

Loving Father thank You for breaking down the barrier between God and man. Help me to pray in accordance with Your will and may I learn to ask in faith, to seek You with all my heart and to knock with patient endurance, so that I may live according to Your will, this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”

Heavenly Father, thank You for laying out so clearly the principles and practices that should govern our lives as we die to self and live for God. Thank You that my salvation does not rely on what I have done but on what Christ has done on my account. Lord at times I have tried to do things in my own strength, only to fail. Help we to live aright and pray according to Your word and will. Give me an understanding heart and the desire to live and work and pray in a manner that honours Your holy name. I praise and thank You that You are my sole Provider and I pray that I may pray according to Your will, seek to grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus and submit to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”

Heavenly Father, I pray that in all I say and do I may do only that which is honouring to You. I pray that my actions and attitudes and the innermost motives behind my thoughts and words.. may be pleasing to You and a reflection of Christ in me, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”
(Matthew 7:12)

Heavenly Father, thank You that in Christ I have been saved by grace and have an eternal inheritance kept for me in heaven. I pray that I may die daily to all that is of self and live every day of my life for Christ. I pray that I will choose to enter the narrow gate of disciplined, dedicated discipleship, which leads to an abundant life here on earth, as I die daily to self and live each day for Christ.. in Whose name I pray. AMEN.

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:”
(Matthew 7:13)

Heavenly Father, thank You for the warning of false prophets and professors in your Word. I pray that you would guard the hearts and minds of all your children and protect them from false prophets and ungodly professors who seek to devour the flock. Help us identify the fruit of those in positions of leadership in the Church who come to us in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves... and give us discernment to know the truth and reject those who do not discern Your will. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”
(Matthew 7:21)

Prayer For Rain In A Drought

Dear Lord, we are facing a sever drought and we plead with You to open the heavens and send rain on this dry and thirsty land. Lord we know that You are the one that sends the rain and You are the one that can withhold the rain, but we pray that You would look down in pity on our waterless land and send the rain to water the land, reviving the land and the people.

Lord we do not deserve You grace and mercy, for we have not loved and served You as we should – but You are long-suffering and of great goodness and You would send rivers of water over the vegetation and fill up the water-hold and well – for the earth is parched and we do not know what to do.

Lord for Your Holy Names sake we ask that You would send the rains in this land soon, for we have no hope but You – for You have promised to give rain upon the earth and send water on the fields – You have promised that the seasons will not fail and that the harvest will continue to provide their bounty – but without the life-giving water, we are going to have to face very severe consequences. In Your mercy send us rain in the dry and dusty land, we pray in Jesus name.

Amen

“And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”
