Prayer for Matthew 11

Choose Verse

Heavenly Father, thank You that You tell us the end from the beginning and that Your word is clear for all who have eyes to see and a heart that believes on Christ, for the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. Thank You for the prophetic writings of Old Testament prophets like Malachi, who point us to Christ, and record history before it happens. Thank You also for the New Testament apostles and prophets Who have opened up our understanding of past events in Israel's history and shown how everything points to JESUS, the Lamb of God and Lion of the tribe of Judah. Give me an understanding heart and a desire to seek the truth of Your word, for Your praise and glory - this I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.”

Dear Father, thank You that we can come close to You, knowing that the barrier of sin has been removed. Thank You that You give us true rest for our soul and perfect peace in our heart - and that in the midst of any storm Your peace that passes human understanding remains. Look with mercy on those who have not yet come to you for salvation and convict their hearts of their need to come to You and trust in Your redemptive blood for the forgivensss of sin. Thank You in Jesus in name AMEN.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of humility and grace that the Lord Jesus set throughout His life - as He lived in utter dependence upon You. May we learn from Him, so that in humility of heart and gentleness of spirit we too may learn to live in complete dependence upon Him - Whom to know is life eternal, AMEN.

“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your word which guides me through life and directs me in the way I should go. Thank You for sending the Lord Jesus to be the Good Shepherd of the sheep and my guiding Light in this darkened world. I pray that I may daily take up my cross and follow Him. Help me harness my heart and life to Jesus each day, for his yoke is easy and His burden is light and in Him there is rest for my soul. Thank You that I have not been left to bear my problems and pain of life alone. Use me, I pray, to point others who are distressed and burdened with sin to YOU, and keep me low at the cross and broken before You for His name sake, AMEN.

“For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
