Praying through Matthew 11:14

Heavenly Father, thank You that You tell us the end from the beginning. Your Word is clear for all who have eyes to see and a heart that believes on Christ for forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. Thank You for the prophetic writings of Old Testament prophets like Malachi, who point us to Christ and record history before it happens. Thank You, also, for the New Testament apostles and prophets who have opened up our understanding of past events in Israel’s history and shown how everything points to Jesus, the Lamb of God and Lion of the tribe of Judah. Give me an understanding heart and a desire to seek the truth of Your Word, for Your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.”
(Matthew 11:14)

Praying through Matthew 11:28

Dear Father, thank You that I can come close to You, knowing that the barrier of sin has been removed. Thank You that You give me true rest for my soul and perfect peace in my heart, and that in the midst of any storm, Your peace that passes human understanding remains. Look with mercy on those who have not yet come to you for salvation. Convict their hearts of their need to come to You and trust in Your redemptive blood for the forgiveness of sin. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
(Matthew 11:28)

Praying through Matthew 11:29

Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of humility and grace that the Lord Jesus set throughout His life, as He lived in utter dependence upon You. May I learn from Him so that in humility of heart and gentleness of spirit, I may learn to live in complete dependence upon Him, Whom to know is life eternal. AMEN.

“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”
(Matthew 11:29)

Praying through Matthew 11:30

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word which guides me through life and directs me in the way I should go. Thank You for sending the Lord Jesus to be the Good Shepherd of the sheep and my guiding Light in this darkened world. Help me harness my heart and life to Jesus each day, for his yoke is easy, His burden is light, and in Him there is rest for my soul. Thank You that I have not been left to bear my problems and the pain of life alone. Use me, I pray, to point others who are distressed and burdened with sin to Jesus. In His name I pray, AMEN.

“For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
