Prayer For Biblical Virtues For My Children

Loving Lord, I pray that my children will come to a knowledge of the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ, crucified and risen from the dead for their forgiveness of sins, their salvation and eternal life. I pray they may grow in grace and in the knowledge of Christ, and that they learn to live a life that is pleasing to You.

Give them integrity in their dealings with others and a heart that seeks after truth and virtue. Develop in them a wisdom, alertness and self-control in all they set their hearts to achieve.

May Your Word become a sweet joy to them and may they be endowed with the fruit of the Spirit and grow in love and compassion, mercy and patience, goodness, kindness and purity.

Above all Lord, give them a servants heart to serve You and others in the strength and power of the Holy Spirit. Give them open doors of opportunity, so that they may serve You wherever You choose to place them. Give them a willingness and ability to work and a grateful heart that is contented with what they have. Lead them into the way of truth all the days of their lives. In Jesus' name I pray,

Prayer To Bring Up Children Wisely

Loving Father, Your Word promises that if I bring up my children in the way they should go, then when they are old they will not depart from it. Lord, I ask that You give me wisdom to do just that, to teach my children the ways of the Lord, just as the mother and grandmother of Timothy taught him the Holy Scriptures from being a young child.

So Father, I claim that promise for my children. I ask You to give me the wisdom as I teach them about Jesus and how He died for all the wrong things that we have done, so that we might be forgiven and one day go to be with Him in heaven.

Help me not to compromise on the truth and when they ask difficult questions, give me the wisdom and grace to have an answer for the faith that I have in You. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Who died for me and my children,

For A Child Who Has Lost Their Way In Life

Dear Lord Jesus, I thank You for my dear child, but my heart is breaking as they have left the way of truth to follow after the baubles of this world.

Lord, I remember a time when my child loved You, at least so I thought, but they have strayed far away and become like the prodigal son in the Bible, who ended up living off the dregs of this world, even when they had a rich table of grace and love, prepared by You, on which they could feast in abundance.

Bring my child back I pray. May my child recall what Jesus did for them on the cross and repent. May they turn away from their sinful way and turn back to Christ Who loves them so much. Oh Lord, bring my child back to Your fold and into fellowship with Yourself.

Prayer To Guide Our Children

Loving Father, I thank You for the little ones that You have blessed me with. Lord, I want to learn to be a good parent so that I may teach my own children the truth of Your Word and the things to value in life,

Guard my love Lord, that I do not smother my child’s creativity.
Guard my head Lord, that I may discipline my children in love.
Guard my lips that I my speak the truth to my children in love.
Guard my heart that I may be wise in all that I teach my children.

Give me wisdom to know how to correct and teach my children.
Give me grace to guide my children into the way of truth and love.

In the name of Jesus I pray,

Parents Prayer For An Unsaved Child

Dear Father God, I am deeply saddened that my child has chosen the foolish path of self and taken on board the mindset of the world rather than the things of God.

Look down in pity on my child I pray, and convict them of their need of Jesus as their Saviour. Turn their hearts from the way of destruction to the way of perfect peace in Christ.

Father, I ask in Your mercy that whatever it takes, You will draw them back into Your arms of love. Whatever it takes.

Father, I know that it is not Your will that anyone is lost but that all come to a saving faith in Christ Jesus. I place my child before You now and pray that Your will be done in my child’s life. May they come to faith in Jesus, in Whose name I pray,

Parent’s Prayer For Christian Children

Loving Father, I thank You with all my heart for the gifts of my children. Thank You, Lord, that You have drawn each of my children to You. Thank You that each has come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord.

I pray that they would grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, and may develop into mighty men and women of God. I pray that in their turn, they may bring up their own children to love and serve You in spirit and truth.

Protect them from the wiles of the enemy who would seek to stumble them with the lust of the flesh, the lust of the world and the pride of self, but equip them I pray, with discernment to turn from that which is evil and to seek after the good.

Day by day, I pray that they may fix their eyes on Jesus Who is the author and finisher of their faith. Guide them into the path of peace. In Jesus' name I pray,

Thank you for Children Entrusted to ME

Loving heavenly Father, how I thank and praise You for the heritage and gift of children with which You have blessed me abundantly. Keep my children on the right path I pray, and prevent them from getting sucked into the way of the world and the philosophies of this age.

Each one of my children is such a treasure that You have entrusted to me to raise and nurture into the ways of the Lord. Lord, I know that my children have been lent to me from You, just as Samuel was given to his mother, Hannah – for a time.

I dedicate my children to You Lord, and ask that in my weakness you will give me the godly strength wisdom and ability to direct and advise my children in the ways of the Lord. May they come to love Your Word. May they treasure Your Word in their hearts, all the days of their lives. And may they teach Your ways to their children in the days that lie ahead.

Keep my children from temptation and help them to overcome the wiles of the evil one who will seek to trip them up.

Cover them with Your protection, and in Your grace and mercy, draw them closer to You day by day, until that reach Your everlasting kingdom. In Jesus' name I pray,

Thank you For Your Love-Gift To Me

Dear Lord Jesus, You said, "let the little children come to me for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Lord, I bring each one of my precious children to You and offer them into Your safe-keeping.

Thank You for the amazing privilege of being a parent, for I know that children are a love-gift from the Lord. I bless you each day for the precious gifts that You have so generously laid in my lap. Thank You for each of their lives and may their lives become a fruitful love-offering to You

Develop in me the willingness to give my children as a love-gift back to You, and I pray that You will take and use each one of my children in a way that is pleasing to You. May they become giants in the faith, yet humble in spirit, gentle in heart and willing to listen and learn.

Thank You, for the wonderful example of Abraham, a man of faith who trusted You sufficiently to be prepared to give his own dear son up to You as a love-offering to You. I pray that like him, I will continue to trust all my children into Your care, knowing that no matter what happens, You are working Your good work in their lives.

Wisdom In Raising Children

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for my precious children. Give me wisdom Lord as I seek in Your strength to raise them to know the truth of Your Word.

Help me never to hold my children too tightly to myself or develop an attitude of parental selfishness, but help me to equip them to become men and women of God who develop an attitude of responsibility, wisdom and faithfulness to You, as they develop and grow older and take up their own positions in the world.

Lord, I commit my children into Your keeping. I love them so dearly, yet I know that Your love for each of my children far exceeds the love that I could have. Keep them I pray, under the shadow of Your protective wings. May the Holy Spirit lead them and guide them into all truth, and may they grow in grace and mature in the faith of Christ Jesus.
