Praying through Genesis 1:8

Heavenly Father, how we praise and thank You for sharing with us the precious secrets of that second day of creation, when You divided the waters from the waters and placed a firmament in the midst of these two immense bodies. As the world attempts to destroy the truth of those six amazing days of creation and the wonderful story of man's redemption, may my heart be filled with wonder and praise for Your mighty works, Your creative wonders, and Your love for me - when You sent Jesus Christ to redeem my life through the shedding of His own precious blood. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.”

Praying through Genesis 1:14

Heavenly Father, thank You for the book of Genesis which tells us of the origin of everything and informs us of Your divine purpose in history, the salvation of man and the restoration of Your beautiful creation. Thank You for the warming sunshine, the cooling light of the moon, and that You threw stars into space on that fourth day of creation and set them in their various courses to be for signs and seasons, days and years. I praise You for the different seasons and for the various prophetic signs that have been recorded in Scripture for my learning. Teach me Your ways and draw me closer to You with every passing day, year, season, and tick of the clock. Help me to interpret the signs of the times, knowing that Jesus is coming soon to take us to be with Himself. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Genesis 1:27

Heavenly Father, what a great Creator God You are and what a precious Saviour we have in Christ Jesus, our own perfect Man. Thank You that just as Adam was created in Your image and likeness, I too have been recreated, born again, and united with Jesus. Thank You that in Your grace, You made me a new creation in Christ, united me with Him, and seated me together with Him in the heavenly realms. To You be all praise and glory, world without end, AMEN.

Praying through Genesis 1:28

Heavenly Father, what a beautiful reminder that it was Your perfect plan for mankind to look after the earth, have dominion over it, and be fruitful and multiply. In these days when it seems people are worshipping Your creation, with calls to protect the planet and worries about global climate problems, people have forgotten the Creator. May I be a good steward of this planet, because I love You Who created it and I because I want to honour You. Thank You that this sinful world is passing away, to one day be replaced with a new heaven and new earth. Creation declares the glory of God. May I sing with creation to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

Praying through Genesis 1:31

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me a clear understanding of the Biblical foundation of the creation of the world, through a plain reading of Genesis. I pray for those that have been blinded to the truth by the enemy of our soul and pray that in Your goodness and grace, many will recognise the error of humanistic philosophies, liberal theology, and false religious systems. May they be convicted of sin, righteousness, and judgement, so that they may be saved by grace through faith in Christ. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Genesis 2:1

Heavenly Father, what a wonderful Creator You are Who formed the heavens and the earth and all the hosts of heaven and earth, in six spectacular days of Your creative power. I praise You for the glory of the heavens and the beauty of the earth and thank You that You made man in Your own image and likeness to have dominion over all that You had made. Thank You, Father, that despite the fall of man and our sinful nature, You purposed to redeem us, return us into fellowship with Yourself, and re-establish man’s rule on earth through the shed blood of our God and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank You that Jesus is the perfect Man Who will rule the earth in righteousness. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Genesis 2:2

Heavenly Father, thank You for the beautiful pictures of creation in the early chapters of Genesis, where I discover that Your plans and purposes for mankind will reach their final destination, when Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords. Thank You for the many lessons I can learn from Your Sabbath rest and that following Your day of rest, You began to work on Your new creation. Thank You that I am part of that new creation in Christ, that Jesus is my Sabbath rest, and that one day we will rule and reign with Him in His kingdom of perfect peace. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus is my Sabbath rest and that in Him, I have peace with God and the peace of God that passes understanding. Thank You that I am a new creation in Christ, and eternal rest is the promised possession of all who have trusted in Him for salvation. I pray that many more will come to an understanding that faith in Christ’s sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection has secured for them eternal rest, if they will but believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Heavenly Father, what amazing grace that Jesus would choose to come to earth to die on my account, so that I no longer remain under condemnation as a sinner, but am identified with Him and clothed in His righteousness. Thank You that You did not leave us in eternal condemnation, through Adam's sin, but purposed to redeem us with Christ's precious blood. I pray that I may live in willing obedience and thankful submission to Your leading and guidance, and thank You that in Christ I have eternal life, and will one day eat of the Tree of Life. Thank You that the Lord Jesus Christ came to be the perfect sin-sacrifice for mankind, to die on the Cross as payment for Adam’s sin and the accumulated sins of humanity. Thank You that for believers, to live is Christ and to die is gain, because we will gain eternal life and joy without end with Him in heaven. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Healing Prayer For A Lonely Person

Oh Lord, I am ill and feel frightened and alone as I have no one to care for me. I have no one who is really interested in me at all, and I feel lost and alone and so vulnerable. And now Lord Jesus, I have come down with this sickness and I feel so ill. Lord, I ask You please to make me well again soon, and lift up my sagging spirit, I pray.

I know Lord in my heart that I am not alone, because You are with me, which is the real reason that I am praying to You now, because You promised to be with me and never to leave me or forsake me, even when everyone else does. Be with me now I pray, and reach out Your healing hand of blessing and touch me Lord. Please make me feel better, not only in my body but also in my life, I pray.

Thank You, that I can call on You in times of trouble or illness or loneliness, and know that You are always there to hear and answer, to heal and comfort and help. Lord, I pray that You would help me to really apply this truth in my life, not just when I am sick, but every day.

Amen.

“And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”

Prayer For The Future Spouse Of My Grandchildren

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the lives of each of my lovely grandchildren that You have so graciously brought into my life. They all give me such joy and pleasure, for which I praise and thank You.

Lord, You have scheduled every day of their lives, and I pray that as they grow up into adulthood You would continue to lead and guide, to instruct and to correct. Father, I also pray that You would develop in each one a heavenly perspective and a true understanding of the Christian life and spiritual maturity, so that they grow in grace and in a right relationship with You.

Bring the right spouse into the life of each of these dear grandchildren of mine I pray. In Your grace I pray that they be granted the husband or wife of Your choice, so that together they may become a threefold cord with You, which is not easily broken.

Thank You, Lord so much, for every one of my grandchildren. Into Your hands I commit each one. May they sense Your calling on their lives, so that they develop into mighty men and women who love You deeply and trust in You implicitly. In Jesus' name I pray,

Amen.

“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

Praying through Genesis 3:1

Heavenly Father, how I praise You that in Your grace and wisdom, You chose to redeem the human race, by grace through faith in the death, burial, and Resurrection of Your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thank you that through Your power, I can resist the schemes of the devil. Help me to trust implicitly in Your Word of truth and to depend on You in all things, for You are good and gracious, and Your loving-kindness endures from one generation to another. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through Genesis 3:5

Heavenly Father, it grieves me to see how many people are being deceived by the same lie that caused Adam and Eve to rebel against You at the dawn of time, "Ye shall become like God." Open the eyes of people who are being deceived by apostates who are teaching these satanically inspired philosophies, and new age belief systems, which are based on human reasoning, and inspired by Satan. Help those that are being deceived to see that he not only tries to devour Your people as a roaring lion but also comes as an angel of light to deceive the nations. Expose the evil works of darkness, I pray, and bring many lost souls into Your kingdom. This I ask in Jesus' precious name, AMEN.

“For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”

Praying through Genesis 3:6

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word. I am so grateful for the lessons I can learn from the choices Adam and Eve made so long ago, when they chose to disobey Your Word. Thank You for this insight into the devastating fall of man and the ease with which we can be deceived and tempted to sin against You and forfeit Your many blessings. May I not only know the truth of Your Word, but trust You in all things so that I will not be seduced by the lies of the enemy, nor enticed to follow the lusts of my own sinful heart. Thank You, Father, for Your wonderful plan of redemption and for sending Jesus to be the last Adam and federal Head of a new creation through whom we are saved, by grace through faith. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”

Praying through Genesis 3:8

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your plan of salvation. Thank You that in Your compassion, You did not leave humanity to die in our sin but to rise to life immortal through faith in Christ Jesus, our atoning sacrifice. Thank You for Your amazing plan of redemption, that by the one righteous act of Christ Jesus our Lord, many will be declared righteous and be forgiven of sin, through faith in Him. Keep me low at the Cross and broken before You, and I pray that those who are still dead in their sin and at enmity with You, would be convicted of their sin and turn to Jesus for forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Genesis 3:15

Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You for Your loving-kindness and gracious mercy towards mankind by procuring our salvation, despite our rebellious sinfulness. Thank You that by Jesus' death on Calvary's Cross, the head of the serpent was crushed and his power over all who trust in You has been rendered inoperative. Thank You that Christ was prepared to be bruised for our iniquity by taking the punishment upon Himself that we deserve. I am forever thankful for Your grace and mercy, and glorify Your holy name forever, AMEN.

Praying through Genesis 3:16

Heavenly Father, what a wake-up call to realise the severe consequences that sin has had on all our lives and relationships. I pray that I may give greater heed to the instructions given to men and women - husbands and wives and I pray that in Your grace, I would honour my own spouse and live my life in a way that honours You. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Genesis 3:17

Heavenly Father, thank You that in Your grace You designed Your perfect plan of salvation, that all who are born of Adam into the original creation that was cursed, may be born-again into Your new creation where death is defeated and fellowship with You is restored for all who believe in the death, burial, and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You for being willing to send Your dearly beloved Son to be the propitiation for sin and that Jesus was willing to die on my account. Praise Your holy name that death is swallowed up in victory and I am restored into fellowship with You. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Genesis 3:21

Heavenly Father, thank You that the picture of Adam and Eve being covered in the skin of an innocent animal, reminds us that Christ shed His blood for our sake, so that we could be forgiven of our sin, covered in His perfect righteousness, and receive life everlasting. Thank You that You did not leave us to wallow in our sin, but set in motion Your perfect plan of redemption for whosoever believes in the atoning blood of Christ. Give me a greater understanding of the shocking effect of sin in the lives of individuals and the world at large, and thank You for Your unimaginable mercy, incalculable grace, infinite wisdom, and amazing kindness, in sending Jesus to be the offering for my sin. He is our Kinsman-Redeemer through Adam, and He is our eternal God and Saviour Who alone is to be worshipped and glorified. To Him be all praise and glory, world without end, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You that You did not terminate the race of man because of sin. Even though Adam sinned and death passed onto all men, making us all sinners, You chose to redeem Your fallen race through the Person and work of Christ. Thank You that through the lineage of Adam, Seth, Noah, Abraham, Israel, and David, came the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God and perfect Son of Man Who died and rose again so that all who believe on Him would be redeemed. Thank You that the day that is coming when You will put all wrongs to right, and the earth will be filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea. In the meantime, I pray that I may be increasingly transformed into the image and likeness of Christ Jesus my Lord, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

Thank You that all who believe on Him are declared righteous by Your grace. You are a good and gracious God Who forgives our iniquity, declares us righteous, and remembers our sin no more. Heavenly Father, thank You for the beautiful example of Noah who was a man who believed in You, trusted Your Word, obeyed Your instructions, warned the wicked of the consequences of sin - and found grace in Your eyes because of his faith, which was credited to him as righteousness. Thank You that I too have found grace in Your eyes and have been declared righteous. I pray that I may walk in spirit and truth and remain blameless in Your eyes. Help me to boldly proclaim the glorious gospel of grace to the lost, and may my life be a witness to Your goodness and grace and a warning of the wrath that is to come. Praying through Genesis 7:1

Heavenly Father, I never cease to wonder at the stubborn refusal and wilful ignorance of sinful man to believe Your Word, repent of their sin, and trust in Christ for the saving of their soul. The same arrogant attitude that was evident in Noah’s day, seems to be increasingly prevalent today. Hearts seem to be becoming progressively hardened, despite the truth of Your Word. I pray that while there is still time, many would be convicted by the Holy Spirit, turn from their sin, and believe in Jesus for the forgiveness of their sin and life everlasting. Thank You that Your grace embraces all who will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thank You that by grace we are covered in His righteousness by faith. Bring into my path those who will be willing to hear the truth and bring many into Your eternal kingdom. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the lesson of faith that I can learn from Abraham - who believed God without knowing the whole story and was prepared to leave all that he had and place his future into Your hands entirely. Thank You that You are a faithful God and that Your promises are steadfast and sure. Increase my faith, I pray, for I desire to trust You in all things. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Genesis 12:8

Heavenly Father, thank You for the Holy Scriptures, the many truths they teach me, and the lessons which I can learn from and apply in my daily life. I pray that like Abram, my faith would not fail but grow and develop so that I trust You in all the circumstances of life, even when they contradict my logic and seem to dictate the opposite. Thank You for the privilege of prayer and the wonderful example of a man who called on the name of the Lord and was not disappointed. Praise Your holy name! AMEN.

“And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.”

Heavenly Father, thank You that You are a faithful God Whose Word is true and Whose promises will never fail. I stand in awe of the mercy, love, goodness, and grace You showed to Abraham, Isaac, and the children of Israel. I rejoice that You sent Jesus to be our Kinsman-Redeemer so that we might be brought into the family of faith and be made Your spiritual sons and daughters, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Father, I thank You for Your generous provision, Your faithfulness, and your unending love. I am so grateful for all You have done for me, and praise You for all You have promised to do. Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful way all Scripture points to Christ. Help me to be earnest in my study of Your Word, and guide me into all truth, I pray. Thank You for the beautiful emblems of bread and wine that Melchizedek gave to Abram and which are used in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice of Himself on the Cross for my sake and the sake of all mankind. Bring many to a deeper understanding of Who You are and all that Christ has done for us. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the many blessings You bestow on all Your children who, by faith, have trusted Your Word and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of their soul. Thank You for the lessons I can learn from Abram’s meeting with Melchizedek, King of Righteousness, King of Peace, and Priest of God Most High. May I not be tempted by the glittering prizes of this fallen world, but have my sufficiency in You, the Lord God Almighty, possessor of heaven and earth. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Genesis 15:1

Heavenly Father, thank You for the life and witness of Abram and for the trust he demonstrated when he refused to accept any reward from the wicked king of Sodom, but relied on You to be his Shield and Defender. Thank You that I have nothing to fear in this evil world and that You supply all that I need according to Your riches in glory. What a wonderful promise that those who trust in You will never be disappointed and that the reward You promise to all Your children is over and above all that we could ask or think. May I live as a faithful witness to Your goodness and grace and never compromise the gospel of Christ. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Loving Father, I recognise Your almighty power and great glory, for the heavens declare it and Christ proved it with outstretched arms on Calvary's Cross. But You are also my great Provider, for which I thank You. I long to serve You faithfully and to live a blameless life before You, which is only possible through the all sufficient power of the Holy Spirit’s work in me. Bring to fruitfulness the seed that You have planted in my heart, that I may live as You desire. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Genesis 17:5

Heavenly Father, as I read through the life of Abraham, I see how important it is to not only be saved by faith, but to live by faith, to walk by faith, and to pray in faith. And just as Abram had to learn many lessons as he sojourned in the land of Israel, I pray that as I journey through life, I would learn all that You have to teach me and become the person You have destined me to be. Help me to submit to You, resist the devil, and recognise the dangers of fleshly lusts and the wisdom of trusting Your Word. Thank You that You are working in my life from an eternal perspective. May my life be a testimony of Your goodness and grace. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

The Blessing Of Our New Baby

Praise Your holy name for the blessing of our precious baby that You have so graciously given to us. You told us to be fruitful and multiply and I thank You that You have blessed me by making me fruitful. Truly, children are a blessed blessing from the Lord.

I remember reading that You blessed Sarah with Isaac and Hannah with her Samuel, and now in Your grace You have blessed me with my own precious blessing.

I bless Your name for ever and ever and pray that my little one in turn may be a blessing to You. Give me wisdom to bring up this little one to love and to trust You as their Saviour. Guard and guide, keep and protect us all in the days that lie ahead, as we wait for that Blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, in Whose name I pray,

Amen.

“And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.”

Praying through Genesis 18:2

Heavenly Father, what a great encouragement to know I can also enjoy the close, intimate fellowship Abraham enjoyed, once his faith was reckoned as righteousness. How precious to realise that he was a friend of God and that the Lord came to visit him as he sat under the oaks of Mamre in the heat of the day. But what a privilege is mine when I realise that I have permanent access to Your holy presence and can commune with You every moment of the day, through prayer and praise, thanksgiving and worship. How I thank You that my body is the very temple of the Holy Spirit. May I come to an ever-growing understanding of the incredible privilege of having the Spirit of Christ indwelling my mortal frame. Heighten in me an increasing awareness and reverence of You, in the knowledge that You are my Friend. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You, that I have found grace and favour in Your eyes and have been made a child of God, through faith in Christ Jesus. Thank You for the lessons we learn from servants like Abraham, and thank You that through faith in Christ, I can know you intimately and enjoy daily fellowship with you anywhere and everywhere. Open my eyes to see Your hand of blessing in my life. Never let me become complacent in my Christian walk and I pray that I will be waiting expectantly for the day when Christ comes to take His church to be with Him forever. Heavenly Father, I realise that sin is such a little word, but its consequences are very terrible. Thank You that You judge the world in righteousness and that in Your grace, You sent Your only begotten Son to be born as the human Seed of Abraham and to shed His blood for the redemption of the world. Thank You that Christ's blood was shed for me. Help me to reject the evil and choose the good and may my life be a testimony of Your goodness and grace. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the many lessons I can learn through the life and prayers of saints like Abraham, who trusted You to deal righteously with all people on earth. Give me a heart of compassion to pray for those that are dead in their sins. Help me to pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ, especially those who may have lost their way in their spiritual walk and been lured into the carnality of this world-system, like Lot. Heavenly Father, I know we are called to live by faith and not by sight, signs, logic, or intuition. I believe Your Word and do not want anything or anyone in my life, to take Your place. Father, I want to offer You my life as a living sacrifice. Heavenly Father, I marvel at Your amazing plan of redemption, yet stand astonished to see how quickly men and women like Isaac, Jacob, Rebekkah, and Esau readily defied Your Word and tried to frustrate Your will through their unbelief, human wisdom, and carnality. Yet Lord, as I consider my own spiritual walk, I see there are times when I have also been reluctant to trust You to fulfil Your plans and purposes in my own life or have been disobedient to obey Your Word. I also pray that You would bring to fruition all that You have purposed in my life. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Genesis 28:20

Heavenly Father, there are so many lessons for me to learn through the life of Jacob. I pray that I would not become so familiar with Bible stories, that I fail to learn the deeper lessons they teach and apply them to my life. Teach me Your will, I pray, and I ask that You would align my will to Your will so that I only say and do those things that are pleasing in Your sight. Keep me also from expressing unbelief in Your Word by trying to sort out my own problems in my way, rather than trusting You to fulfil all that You have purposed. Bedtime Prayer For Families

Dear Lord Jesus, it is time for us to get to bed. We thank You that You are with us all the time and throughout the hours of darkness. Thank You, that You never leave us and that You have promised to be with us throughout the night.

Give us all a good night rest we pray, and help us not to allow our thoughts to wander aimlessly through our minds so as to keep us awake, but may we settle down securely, knowing that sleep is a precious gift from You, so that we may be ready to do all the things that You have prepared for us to do tomorrow.

Forgive us for the wrong things we have done today, and thank You that Your love for us never fails and that Your mercies are new every morning. Thank You, that You died on the cross to pay the price us from our sins and save us, so that we can live together with You in heaven..

Thank You, that nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Help us all to rest securely in You, in the knowledge that we are Your children and You are our gracious God. This we ask in Jesus' name,

Amen.

Praying through Genesis 32:26

Heavenly Father, thank You for the Scriptures, both Old and New, which are profitable for our learning - for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, and for our spiritual growth and maturity. Thank You for instructing us in our spiritual walk of faith through the lives of those that have gone before, like Jacob, whose pride, resourcefulness, and ingenuity had to be broken before You could use Him to forward Your plans and purposes. Search me, O God, and know my heart, I pray. Try me, and see if there is any wicked way that needs to be refined, honed, corrected, or established. May I live from this day forward for Your eternal praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word, which gives us insight into the history of the nation of Israel. Thank You for the powerful story of Jacob, who learned that it was not by his might or power, schemes or wit that he was blessed, but by Your grace. And thank You that it is not by my might or power, good works or good character that I am saved, but by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone, my mighty, powerful, loving Saviour. Praying through Genesis 41:40

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness and provision in my life. Thank You for the example of Joseph, who trusted you through the many difficulties and trials he faced, demonstrating the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit in his life, even when he did not understand. I pray that You would use me in the same way, and like Joseph, I would show similar courage and humility in the work you have given me to do. I pray that Your plans and purposes may be carried out in my life, as it was in the life of Joseph, for Your honour and glory. Help me to be patient and to trust in You, even when the road ahead is uncertain. Give me the grace to accept the challenges that come my way, and the courage to face them with faith and confidence. Guide me in all my decisions, and give me the wisdom to make choices that are pleasing to You so that my life may be a reflection of Your love and grace. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Thank You for sending Jesus to be the Bearer of Rest for my soul and Bringer of Peace, through His finished work at Calvary. Thank You for the many precious promises and prophecies that are all 'yes' and 'amen' in Him. Continue to teach me, I pray, and open my understanding to wonderful things in Your Word.
