For Those Who Feel Guilt After An Abortion

Loving Lord, I recently had an abortion because I was pregnant and did not want to have another baby – but since going through the abortion Lord, I find that I am beset about by guilt and my heart feels as if it is torn in two.

Lord You have promised to be close to those whose hearts are breaking – I know that what I did was wrong, because You are the Lord of life, but Father You are also the great God of comfort and the Comforter that has promised to be with us always and to comfort us in our distresses.

Lord I have just read the prayer ‘I Had An Abortion,’ and I thank You that You died to pay the price for all my sins, including this abortion. Lord I know that any deep wound takes much time to heal, but I pray Lord that You would start to mend my broken heart today and to soothe my smarting soul.

Give me the comfort that only comes from You to face the future, knowing that in Your sight I am pure and forgiven– and thank You for Your great assurance that there is no sin that is so bad that You are unwilling to forgive.

Thank You in Jesus name,

“So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus to be the sin-sacrifice for the whole world. Let me never forget what it cost You to pay the price for my sin. Let me never forget that You bled and died as payment for every sin I have committed. Help me to walk in newness of spirit and live a godly life to Your honour and glory, for You are my God and my Saviour and I love You Lord, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, this is a solemn teaching, and it grieves our soul, that there are many, like the proud Pharisees, who reject Your offer of salvation. It grieves us to know that there are still foolish people, who like the leaders of the Jews, refuse to open their eyes and ears to the truth of the gospel of Christ. Soften the hearts of men, women, Jews and Gentiles alike, so that they may recognise Christ as Saviour, and place their trust in His sacrificial work at Calvary. Use me, I pray, to spread the good news to unsaved people, so that they may hear, and believe, and not die in their sins, but be saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, our God and Saviour, in Whose name we pray, AMEN.

“Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.”

Heavenly Father, it is wonderful to know that I have been born again into a new creation and can never die in my sins because Christ took the punishment for me on the cross - for which I am eternally grateful. But, there are many who have not trusted in Christ, and who will die in their sins, if they do not hear and believe the good news of the gospel of grace. I pray that Your Holy Spirit would convict and convert many of their need of Christ for salvation - and use me to be a light to point the lost to Him - this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.”

Thanksgiving For Deliverance from Alcoholism

Heavenly Father, so many people have fallen into the devastating, downward spiral of alcoholism, and yet in Your grace and mercy we see so many that are being freed from their addiction to alcohol and many more that are coming to faith the Lord Jesus Christ, as a result of a crisis point in their lives, which has so often taken them to the depths of despair.
Thank You Lord for all who have been rescued from alcoholism and for those that have supported them through it.We know that the enemy comes to steal and to kill and to destroy men and women, by enticing them into a life of alcoholism and other evil addictions, but we thank and praise You that Jesus came to destroy the works of the evil one and promised to give life abundantly, to all who trust in Christ as Saviour.
We thank You for all those who are currently being helped to leave their life of alcohol addition behind, and we pray that each one will come to a saving knowledge if Christ and know You as Saviour and  Lord – this we ask in Jesus name,

“Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.”

To Be Freed From My Burdensome Addiction

Dear Lord Jesus, my addiction is a terrible burden and a such a shame to me and yet I find myself constantly returning to behaviours that I hate and long to be able to shed. I am so ashamed Lord and yet I know that You were the One Who said that You came to set the captives free – and Lord I am a captive. I am a captive and slave of this terrible addiction and yet to long to be freed and to live a normal life.

Free me Lord I pray from this compulsion for it is stifling my life and has cost me many dear friends as well as my job – but I long to be free to live as I ought.

I have heard the gospel and I do believe that Jesus died to take the full punishment for all my sins, including my addiction and I believe that He rose the third day, which broke the power of death in the lives of all who believe – so I am coming to you to ask You Lord to give me the abundant life that You have promised. I know that eternal life is now my portion but I pray that I may be free of my addiction in this life so that I may serve You as You deserve, I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
(John 8:36)

Heavenly Father, thank You that I am Your child. Keep me I pray from the sin of pride and unbelief. Help me to look to Jesus moment by moment and to walk in newness of life and to be ready to give an answer for the hope that I have in You. This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

The Death Of A Believer

Loving Lord I am filled with grief and sadness at the loss of my precious loved one – and yet that pain is tinged with gold, knowing that they trusted you as their Saviour and that they are now in Your presence.

I know that I am going to miss this precious one, who has been my strength and my joy for so long, and thank You for the precious times we had together.

Often Lord I expect my dear one to just be there, or walk through the door - and then remember that they have gone home to be with You. At times this is quite hard and yet I know that I must not grieve as those that have not hope in Jesus – but rejoice knowing that the day is coming when we will be together with You and You will wipe away all tears from our eyes - but at the moment my loss is like an open wound – and I pray that You will heal my brokenness and the loneliness I feel… and draw me every closer into Your arms of love my Lord and my God.

Thank You for all You are to me and may I rest in You in Jesus name,

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.”
