Praying through John 16:7

Heavenly Father, thank You for the glorious plan that You purposed before the foundation of the world. Keep me from focussing on the immediate and to rest my confidence in You every moment of the day. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.”

Praying through John 16:8

Heavenly Father, thank You that while I was still a sinner, Christ died for me, and thank You that the Holy Spirit convicted me of sin and righteousness and judgement. I pray that many who do not know You as their Saviour will come to saving faith today, and that You would use me to share the truth of the gospel of grace with those with whom I come in contact. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”

Praying through John 16:13

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit. I pray that I may have ears that are spiritually attuned to hear His voice, eyes that are willing to see spiritual truths, a heart that is submitted to His guidance and correction, and a teachable spirit so that in His grace I may be guided into all truth. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”

Praying through John 16:14

Heavenly Father, what an amazing mystery that the living God should be born into the human race, in order to become our Kinsman-Redeemer and save us by grace through faith in His sacrificial death. Open the eyes of my understanding to all that the Spirit wants to show me, and may I grow in grace in the days ahead. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

A Mother’s Thankful Heart For Her Baby

Heavenly Father, what joy fills my heart for the precious little baby you have seen fit to bring into our family unit. I lift up my voice of praise to You, with a grateful heart for this little life that has been entrusted to me.

Teach me to be a good and faithful mother and to take the responsibilities of motherhood seriously. Teach me also how to bring up my child to know You Lord Jesus, so that my precious little baby will grow up to accept You as their Saviour. And Lord, You Who loved to welcome the little children into your arms, open Your arms of love I pray for us, and keep us all safe from harms way, under the protection of Your wings of love.

As this little bundle of joy starts to grow and develop, give me wisdom to teach and train, to correct and to encourage. May I be both fair and wise, and combine a balance between correction and encouragement. Guide our little family unit in the ways of peace I pray, and thank You my heavenly Father for the wonderful blessing that has come from You. In Jesus' name,

Amen.

“A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.”
