Prayer for John 15

Praying through John 15:1

Thank You, Father, for the depth of truth that is discovered in Christ, my true Vine. Through His life in me, may my life produce much fruit that glorifies the Father in heaven. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through John 15:2

Father, I pray that I may bear much fruit, to Your praise and glory. Take away all in my life that is not good and fruitful and do such a work in me that I may bear even more fruit, to your praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”

Praying through John 15:3

Heavenly Father, thank You for Christ Jesus the true and living Vine. Thank You that You have called me to be a branch on that living Vine. Thank You that by grace through faith in Him, I have heard the gospel of grace and have been saved by the cleansing power of You Word. I pray that I may grow in grace, day by day, and live and work to Your praise and glory. I pray that I would continue to be cleansed with every passing day, as I abide in You and You in me. To Your praise and glory, AMEN.

“Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.”

Praying through John 15:4

Loving Father, more and more I see that when I try to do things in my own strength I will fail and not produce the fruit that glorifies You. I long that my life is lived as Christ lived, in total reliance in the Spirit of God so that I only do those things that are prompted by You. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.”
(John 15:4)

Praying through John 15:5

Heavenly Father, teach me how to abide in Christ and He in me. Teach me to live my life as You would have me to live, in total dependence upon You (which is the life of Christ being lived through me), so that I may produce the good fruit in my life that is honouring to You. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

Praying through John 15:7

Heavenly Father, thank You that I have been saved by grace through faith in Christ.. but I realise that my thoughts need to be aligned to Your thoughts... my heart needs to be reflecting Your heart.. my mind needs to become the very mind of Christ.. so that my prayers can say with honesty and faith.. Thy will not mine be done, as I pray into Your will.. so that whatsoever I ask may be done to honour You. Thank You in Jesus name, AMEN.

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”

Praying through John 15:13

Heavenly Father, thank You for the greatest of all examples of love that Christ demonstrated toward me, in that while I was still a sinner, He died for me. Praying through John 15:18

Heavenly Father, thank You, that Your Word states plainly that the world hated Jesus. I understand that trials and tribulations are common to all men, but that those who follow You will inevitably suffer persecution for righteousness sake. Thank You that You have promised to keep me through the difficulties, dangers, persecution, and pain that all who live godly lives in Christ will suffer. I am so thankful that You intimately understand how I feel when the world hates me, because it hated You first. Help me to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus Who is the hope of my calling, and thank You that Your grace is sufficient for every situation I may have to face in this life. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.”

Praying through John 15:19

Heavenly Father, as I walk through this life toward my heavenly home, I pray that I would be a worthy ambassador for Christ, reflecting His love and truth to all I meet. Help me not to be surprised when I receive hatred from the world, knowing that the world hated Christ first, but may I rest in Your love, walk in the truth of Your Word, and finish the work You have for me on the earth before You call me home. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”

Praying through John 15:25

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy, and for sending Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to save me from my sin and give me eternal life. Thank You that by grace through faith, I can abide in Christ and His Spirit can abide in me, producing spiritual fruit and enabling me to live a life of obedience. Help me to speak the truth in love, to proclaim Your Word boldly, and to be ready to give an answer for the hope that is within me. Help me to love those who hate me and to pray for those who persecute me for His name's sake and for the glory of God the Father. Thank You that I have been given the ministry of reconciliation and for giving me the privilege of being Your disciple. May I live and work to Your praise and glory. This I pray Jesus' name, AMEN.

“But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.”
