Prayer for Jude 1

Praying through Jude 1:2

Heavenly Father, I lift before You all those that are called by You and who have trusted in Jesus for salvation. Bless each one and may Your grace and mercy, peace and love, be abundantly poured out on them all. Keep all Your children under the shadow of Your wings in these difficult days in which we live, as we contend earnestly for the faith. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.”

Praying through Jude 1:3

Heavenly Father, give me wisdom and understanding to know how to address issues that are causing conflict between my brothers and sisters in Christ. Help me to contend earnestly for the faith that was once delivered to the saints, and which is recorded in the Word of God. I pray that I may do it with gentleness, wisdom, and love. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

Praying through Jude 1:4

Heavenly Father, keep me looking to Jesus and grounded on the Word of truth so that I will not be influenced by the false teachings and satanic doctrines that are flooding our churches today. Give me discernment to know the truth, and wisdom to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus alone and not tossed about by any wind of doctrine. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Praying through Jude 1:5

Heavenly Father, thank You for the truth of Your Word. As I look at how You brought the children of Israel out of Egypt and gave them blessing on blessing, it is sobering to see that many of them still didn’t trust in You, resulting in not being allowed into the Promised Land. Thank You that I will enter into my heavenly rest because I have trusted Jesus. May I live my life in grateful thanks, giving the Lord Jesus the honour and glory due to His name. In His name I pray, AMEN.

“I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.”

Praying through Jude 1:6

Heavenly Father, thank You for the warning against falling into apostasy and of the serious consequences that befall all apostates. Thank You that You give every man and woman an opportunity to know You, for the heavens declare Your glory, the earth sings forth Your praise, our inner conscience reminds us to eschew evil and choose the good, and Your Word guides us into all truth. Thank You that You are long suffering and not wiling that any should perish, but that all come to repentance and a saving faith in Christ. Keep my heart open to You and prevent me from falling into any form of apostasy. Lord, my desire is to honour Your name and by Your grace may I run the race that is set before me, looking to Jesus, day by day, AMEN.

“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”

Praying through Jude 1:7

Heavenly Father, thank You for the serious warning of apostasy and heretical teaching that is so pervasive today. Help me to know the truth and recognise any false teachers and teachings that have crept into the flock, unnoticed. Protect Your people from those that would seek to shipwreck the faith of believers and open the eyes of those that are lost and facing eternal separation from You and punishment in the fires of judgement. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

Praying through Jude 1:8

Heavenly Father, thank You for the short epistle of Jude which exhorts us to contend earnestly for the faith and to maintain an uncompromised gospel. Help us to expose and reject the various heresies and apostasies that are rife in our time. May we look to Jesus our Blessed Hope and give us courage to pray earnestly for our leaders, support the weak, help the afflicted, and love and serve all men, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

Praying through Jude 1:12

Heavenly Father, thank You for the Word of God and the truth that it contains. Thank You for holy men of God who were inspired by the Holy Spirit to pen the Scriptures that teach us the truth of Your Word. Give me a desire to know Your Word and discernment to recognise false teachings and apostate teachers. Give me an urgent desire to know Your Word more and to contend for the truth that was once given to the saints. Knowing the terrible damage they can do to believers, I pray that false teachers may be identified, exposed, and removed, both in my local Church and throughout the world. Revive Your people with the same urgency that flooded Jude's heart when he exhorted us to reject false teachers through an ever deepening knowledge of Your Word. This I pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;”

Praying through Jude 1:14

Heavenly Father, thank You for the important instructions and information that You have given us in Your Word. I pray that You would show me any areas in my life that are dishonouring to You. Keep me from the influence and errors of apostate men and guide me into all truth. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Jude 1:19

Heavenly Father, thank You for the many warnings of apostasy creeping into the churches of our land and the toxic nature of worldly minded, apostate teachers who slither into churches and slowly infect other believers. As I look around and see people who find fault, grumble, boast, flatter, and follow their own evil desires, help me to remember that You told us it would be this way just before Jesus returns. I pray that You would protect me and my loved ones from stumbling and from being polluted by their influence. Thank You that by Your grace we can be kept from stumbling, and protect us from being polluted by their influence. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Praying through Jude 1:20

Heavenly Father, in a world that is spiralling out of control and a Church that is becoming increasingly apostate, I pray that You would keep me from straying from the path of righteousness. Guide me into all truth by the power of Your Holy Spirit, as I study the Word of God and seek to do only those things that are pleasing in Your sight. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,”

Praying through Jude 1:21

Heavenly Father, I know that there are many dangers and difficulties in life that combine to shipwreck my faith in You. I desire to love You more, to know You better, to keep the Lord Jesus as the centre of my life, and to grow in grace. Give me the wisdom to discern what is not from You and ears to hear the promptings of the Holy Spirit. In Your mercy, keep me under the shadow of Your protection. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, open the eyes of my heart to see Your glorious majesty, Your sovereign power, Your pre-eminent authority, and Your magnificent glory.
