Prayer for Galatians 2

Choose Verse

Heavenly Father, thank You for the Word of Life and the truths that it contains. Lord there is so much more that I need to understand about Your unique programme with Israel and Your agenda for the Church. Give me discernment to know which Scriptures are directed towards Israel and which ones are directed towards the Church, so that I may not become confused, or bound up in legalism, by trying to fulfill directives that were not given to believers in the dispensation of the grace of God. Thank You that I have been saved by grace through faith in Christ, Who took the punishment for my sin, and rose again to give me His eternal life - Thank You in Jesus name, AMEN.

To Be Freed From My Burdensome Addiction

Dear Lord Jesus, my addiction is a terrible burden and a such a shame to me and yet I find myself constantly returning to behaviours that I hate and long to be able to shed. I am so ashamed Lord and yet I know that You were the One Who said that You came to set the captives free – and Lord I am a captive. I am a captive and slave of this terrible addiction and yet to long to be freed and to live a normal life.

Free me Lord I pray from this compulsion for it is stifling my life and has cost me many dear friends as well as my job – but I long to be free to live as I ought.

I have heard the gospel and I do believe that Jesus died to take the full punishment for all my sins, including my addiction and I believe that He rose the third day, which broke the power of death in the lives of all who believe – so I am coming to you to ask You Lord to give me the abundant life that You have promised. I know that eternal life is now my portion but I pray that I may be free of my addiction in this life so that I may serve You as You deserve, I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Amen
“And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:”

Heavenly Father, thank You for the ministries of Peter and Paul and for all those whom You have used to pen the scripture. Thank You for those that have helped and encouraged me in my own Christian walk and I pray that I may carry out the work You have prepared for me to do, to Your greater praise and glory – this I ask in Jesus name AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the teachings of both Peter and Paul and for the wonderful way their joint ministries were united in teaching the truth of the gospel of Christ. Thank You for the corrective teachings in Galatians, about perverting the gospel of grace, by returning to legalistic practices, which can so often be permitted in our places of worship. Keep me alert to any deceptive practices and thank You that I am both saved by Your grace and kept by Your grace. Keep me pure in thought, word, deed and doctrine – this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word, which gives clear teachings on the means of salvation, which is by grace through faith in Christ. Lord, I see how easy it is to allow fear of men, to cause any one of us to compromise our faith. Help me to stand fast on the Word of Truth, and not to fear what man can say or do to me, especially other believers who have become legalistic, in their beliefs, or who water down the gospel to be politically correct. Help me to not only speak the truth in love, but also to be prepared to challenge those, in love, whose Christian conduct does not line up with Scripture. This I ask in Jesus name, Amen

Heavenly Father, thank You for this glorious truth that we are not justified by the works of the Law and that there is nothing that I can say or do to merit my own salvation - knowing that I am justified only by faith in the finished work of Christ Jesus on Calvary's cross. Thank You that Christ gave His life as a ransom for me and became a curse on my account - so that I might become the righteousness of God in HIM - praise His holy name - AMEN

“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”

Heavenly Father, thank You that I am identified with Christ by grace through faith in His death, burial and resurrection. Thank You that in Him I am dead to the Law and removed from its condemnation, having been clothed in His eternal righteousness. I humbly submit that I have no righteousness of my own, but only that which comes through faith in Christ. Praise His holy name, AMEN.

Thank You Father for Your indwelling holy Spirit Who was sent to live alongside my new life in Christ and to lead and guide me through this earthly life.  Teach me to listen to His voice and recognise His promptings and I pray that more and more Your will not mine be done, until I can say with Paul, the life that I now life in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. AMEN.

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
