Prayer for Galatians 1

Loving Father thank You that in You grace You sent Jesus to be the propitiation for my sins - and that by believing on Him I have been brought into Your heavenly family and clothed in His righteousness, praise His holy name, AMEN.

“Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)”

Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You for the life and ministry of Paul and for the many epistles he penned, which so clearly lays out the gospel of salvation. Thank You for my great salvation, the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and the warning against legalism in the epistle to the Galatians. Keep the pulpits of today's churches free from legalism we pray, and give discernment to your people so they may recognise legalistic teachings and expose those who would try to bring Your people back under bondage. Help me to recognise when legalism rears its ugly head and I pray that those that have been enticed into this destructive way of thinking would find their liberty in Christ - in Whose name we pray, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You that in Your grace and wisdom Christ gave Himself for my sins and for the sin of the whole world, so that by grace through faith in Him .. all who believe might be rescued from this present evil age. Thank You that You chose in eternity past to plan for the salvation of mankind - who by rights should remain guilty as charged. Thank You that through Christ I have been redeemed from the curse of the Law and received life everlasting - by faith. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You that my salvation does not depend on what I do but on what Christ did for me on the cross. May I continue to live my Christian life by faith and not by works of the Law and help me not to add additional legalistic requirements to my Christian life, knowing that it is not works of the flesh that can keep me saved but it is all by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. To Him be all praise and glory, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the glorious gospel of Christ and for Your grace which has brought me into Your heavenly family, by faith in His finished work on Calvary. Keep me from falling into the error of trying to perfect myself by means of my own fleshly works and legalistic acts, knowing that it is only by means of the Holy Spirit, Who works in my 'new-life-in-Christ' by grace, that I can live a life that honours You, this I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the God-breathed Scriptures and the truth that they contain within their pages. Thank You that we are no longer under the Law but are saved by grace through faith in Christ. Heavenly Father, thank You that Christ died to pay the price for my sin and that He rose again so that the power of sin might be broken in my life. I pray that I may not slip into legalistic practices by trying to win Your favour or mature as a Christian by means of carrying out legalistic rules or performing works of the flesh. I pray that I simply stand on the truth of the glorious gospel of grace - which has set me free from all forms of legalism - by grace through faith in Christ's finished work - not only in this life but in the life to come, AMEN.

Heavenly Father, as I continue to read through the book of Galatians, and realise the terrible consequences of going back under legalistic rules and regulations, which seem to be practiced by so many in Christendom today.. I thank You that I have been set free from the law of sin and death.. and pray that I may walk in newness of life, to Your praise and glory - as I apply all that You would teach me through Your Word. This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.
