Heavenly Father, thank You for the wise words of Paul to Timothy, on the way that we should treat older men and women in our community. As they advance in years, it can be a temptation to dismiss them as unimportant, but each one has a unique story to tell and each is a precious child of the King and important to You. Help me to honour those in my church community who are facing difficulties in their advancing years. Give me the grace to love them as Christ loved me. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for friends and family. Thank You for placing us in families, in the home, in our local churches, and in the wider Christian world. Help me to grasp every opportunity to care for those You place in my path - those that are younger who need guidance and encouragement, and those that are older and need loving care and support. Develop in me a godly attitude that fixes my hope on You alone, and I pray that I would develop the privileged habit of drawing close to You, day by day, in entreaties, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings, for You are my God and I love You, Lord. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
Heavenly Father, thank You for those that serve as church pastors, elders, and deacons. Thank You for the dedication, devotion, and commitment from all those who exercise this God-honouring responsibility of caring for the Body of Christ. Protect them from the enemy of our soul who acts like a roaring lion, seeking to sully their witness and shipwreck their word. Uphold them with Your mighty hand and use them for Yourself in mighty ways. I pray that You would give each one the strength, guidance, and endurance they need, and that their service to You would edify the Body and glorify Your name. This I ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
