Prayer for Mark 2

Choose Verse

Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Jesus, Who during His earthly life, placed the needs of others before His own comfort, and gathered the strength He needed to finish the work that You ordained for Him to do - through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit - to Your praise and glory. May I live as Jesus lived.. in total dependence upon You, and in submission to the Holy Spirit, knowing that Your grace is sufficient for all the work that You have prepared for me to do. This I ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.”

Thank You Father that You died on the cross to pay the price for my sins and that by believing on Your name, my sins have been forgiven forever. Thank You that You loved the world so much that You came in the person of Jesus Christ to be our sacrifice for sin - and that my life is now hid with Christ in God, in Whose name I pray, AMEN.

“When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.”

Heavenly Father, I want to be emptied of all that is of the old life so that I may be filled day by day with Your Spirit of truth. I pray that I may daily die to my old self-effort and prideful self-righteousness, and submit to the indwelling Holy Spirit.. so that the life of Christ may live in me to Your praise and glory. I pray that the life of Christ IN me, may produce the acceptable fruit of His-righteousness, to His praise and glory in Whose name I pray. AMEN.

“And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.”

Heavenly Father, thank You that we are not bound by religious laws and legalistic practices, but have been made a new creation in Christ. Thank You that He is our Sabbath rest, not only during our sojourn on earth but in the eternal ages to come. Thank You that we are not bound by burdensome rules and regulations, but have recognised that the Law was a tool that God used to point sinners to Jesus Christ, in Whom we find true rest and refreshment as we abide in Him and He in us. Thank You that Jesus Christ is the sovereign Lord – even of the Sabbath. May we worship You in spirit and truth in our worship services and every day of the week.. and may we take every opportunity to meet with other believers and enjoy Christian fellowship in our Churches and Chapels. This we ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

“And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:”
