Praying through John 18:6

Loving Father, I confess that familiarity with the stories of Jesus and even the gracious, loving-kindness that You have extended to me through my salvation and eternal security, causes me to forget that the Lord Jesus is truly the one and only almighty God, Maker and Sustainer of heaven and earth. Praise Your Holy name for You alone are worthy of praise. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.”

Praying through John 18:11

Heavenly Father, I want to learn the spiritual lessons that You would teach me and to live in willing obedience and utter dependence upon You. May I never fear the cup of difficult circumstances in my life, but live as You intended, learning obedience by the things that I may suffer so that in all things I may say, "Thy will not mine be done." In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.

“Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?”

Praying through John 18:33

Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus came as King of the Jews to fulfil prophecy so that He could set up His kingdom on earth and restore to us the years that the locusts have eaten. Thank You, that Jesus came as Saviour of the world, was ready to stand before Pilate, and endured the cross for love of me. Lord, there are many like Pilate who know about Jesus, but do not know Him as their personal Saviour. I pray that in Your grace Your Holy Spirit would convict many of sin, righteousness and judgement, and reveal the truth to them, so that they also know Him as Saviour and Lord. This I ask in His precious name, AMEN.

“Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?”
(John 18:33)

Praying through John 18:36

Father, I thank You for the eternal plan of salvation, which required the shame of the Cross of Christ before the joy of the Kingdom’s Crown. Thank You that Satan is a defeated enemy. May I live in the world, but not be a part of this fallen world system, and use me to proclaim Your truth to others. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

“Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.”

Praying through John 18:37

Dear Heavenly Father, how I praise and thank You that Jesus came to seek and to save those that are lost and, in His grace, made a good confession before Pilate that He came into the world to testify of the truth of God's Word and bring to salvation all who hear His voice and trust in His saving grace. Thank You that I too have been given the opportunity to hear the good news of the gospel of grace and have been transferred from the kingdom of this world into the kingdom of Your dear Son. May I be a faithful witness to the truth of the gospel. In Christ's name I pray, AMEN.

“Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
